4. Mining

After descending into the mine, the heroes found what they were looking for – ore, lots of ore. However, in addition to the ore, the mine was swarming with an army of undead that had taken up residence there. A lich commanded them, and he was assisted by four generals. The ancient villain tried to bribe Tallin with power and treasures, but he was in no hurry to join the undead army and began the attack. The battle was long and hard, but the army of humans and dwarves was able to defeat their enemy. When the lich was surrounded, he laughed maliciously and disappeared.
After clearing the mines, the dwarves were able to begin mining the ore, and meanwhile, Tallin and his men set off in pursuit of the undead villain.

On the right, the army under the command of the dwarf began to approach the lich, and to protect himself, he summoned a bunch of ghouls and corpses, which rose up around the entire perimeter of the moat (visible on the map). So, I immediately began to retreat.

Screenshot #6
Here is the lich himself and my retreat. A dwarf settled in the tower, who was supposed to cover the retreat, but he did too good a job and cut down quite a few enemies, which allowed him to survive and level up to level 3. However, I later moved him to a house so that he could heal from poison, because in the tower he might not have survived (although when a unit gains a level, it is fully healed, and considering that he was rarely hit in the tower...).
Then I regrouped and returned to give the lich a beating, after which he disappeared

5. In Pursuit of Death

Pursuing the lich, Tallin could never have imagined he would end up in a labyrinth. That is exactly how the domain of Malifor (the lich's name) could be described.

screenshot №1
We entered the dungeon as a party of four (the Protagonist, a peasant friend, an archmage, and a dwarf who leveled up while defending the tower). Why a dwarf, you ask? Because everyone else remained in the mine and could no longer be recruited, and this was the only dwarf I had hired.
There are many tunnels here, so I decided to split up and try to scout them.

screenshot №2
Below, there turned out to be a dungeon where I freed the lich's prisoners. Among them were two clerics (husband and wife), a dryad, and a drake (half-dragon).
Above the dungeon was one of the undead outposts.

screenshot №3
To the right, there was also an outpost, and beneath it, we found a tunnel. A sign in front of it stated that it led to an underground river and that it was dangerous to go there. But our boys are brave, and a group of soldiers set off to scout it.

screenshot №4
We eventually reached the river, and tentacles attacked us from the water, which we easily defeated. In the outpost, however, we found two secret rooms containing six bottles of holy water. The dwarf and five other soldiers coated their weapons with it to strengthen them for the battle against the skeletons.

screenshot №5
Above the left outpost, there was a treasury, and in the dungeon, we found a secret tunnel that led us to three dwarves. They had also been captives but managed to escape and hide here. Gladly joining us, the dwarves showed us a passage to the treasury from their camp. Thus, we practically entered it from two sides. As it happened, there was a great deal of money in the treasury. In the end, I collected 15,000 gold! I've never seen such a thing before. Though it's not surprising, as the campaign is difficult from the first mission, and a lot of money must be spent on recruiting units.

screenshot №6
Interesting events were also taking place in the right tunnel. One of the swordsmen found a water structure and decided to enter it. A ghost flew out to meet him, who turned out to be quite friendly. He introduced himself as Lord Abhay, the former ruler of these lands. He had died of old age and remained in the underworld until Malifor summoned him. The lich tried to force the lord to serve him, just like the other undead, but Abhay's will was stronger and he escaped. The ghost did not settle on the water by chance. The fact is that the undead fear creatures that dwell in the water (in this case, those tentacles, which belong to someone unknown). In the end, the former lord joined us.
In the screenshot, we are fighting a small sea dragon.

screenshot №7
I sent a squad of seven fighters, including Crush the drake, into the northern tunnel. At first, it seemed empty and that there was nothing here. But then we emerged into a large hall, which was also empty. As soon as one of the warriors approached the fort, a crash was heard behind us and the tunnel collapsed. Noise also erupted to the left and right, but it was the sound of sliding slabs (walls). When they fully opened, huge spiders began to crawl out of the darkness! They quickly lunged at the warriors, enveloping them in webs and striking with their venom. With the greatest effort, my fighters managed to hold their ground, but not without losses. One of the warriors perished while saving the lives of his comrades.

screenshot №8
Afterward, we went into the darkness from which the spiders had appeared. In one of the caves, we found a magic staff. The archmage said it was the Staff of Justice, possessing powerful magic. It strengthens, accelerates, and grants knowledge to its owner, as well as summoning lightning. I gave it to my runaway (a leveled-up slinger).

screenshot №9
The second cave from the spider hall led to the room with the lich, as did the water tunnel. But the main forces used the main entrance, bursting into Malifor's chambers like a wild crowd, crushing everything in their path. The lich could not be killed with ordinary weapons, so we needed the help of our pair of white mages. They quickly destroyed the ancient evil.

Having dealt with the army of the dead, Tallin and his new friends headed back to the mines, where the dwarves should have already forged the weapons.

6. Pointless Slaughter

The people returned to the mines with the dwarves, where work was already in full swing. Tallin told them about the destruction of Malifor, and Hamel, in turn, said that the connecting tunnels to the old camp had been cleared, and more and more dwarves were arriving, who had lived in small groups throughout Knalg. Then came a lull. The people rested, learned from the dwarves, and got used to the new weapons. Unfortunately, the peaceful time ended quickly. One morning, news came of an orc army moving towards the caves. Tallin and his men went to the exit to repel the orcs on the surface and prevent them from entering Knalg, while the dwarves remained to cover the retreat.
The orcs were led by Rakshas, who turned out to be the very leader that all the previous orcs Tallin had encountered had spoken about. For three days and three nights, the people fought the orcs, but there were too many of the latter, and the people were the first to retreat back into the caves.

Screenshot #1
We exit the cave and immediately get into a fight. It was quite difficult to get out, to be honest. And in general, the map is challenging; I don't like such maps.
Yes, the dwarves trained Tallin, and he gained the "leadership" skill, and he also became a swordsman, although initially, I leveled him up as an archer. My friend also leveled up in battle; I made him a spearman.

Screenshot #2
Here, I am already fighting on two fronts. The orc leader came out of the left camp and got hit on the head. After that, the remaining two orcs began to recruit units with renewed vigor. If you approach the camp closer, an orcish wolf rider horde will also appear, and that's just terrible.
Look at my fleeing mage with a staff. Now he can shoot lightning, but due to his chaotic nature, it is better to do this at night, as is fighting.

Screenshot #3
After reinforcements arrived, I had to retreat back into the caves. The archmage was barely holding back the enemies.
Yes, the drake leveled up, and there was a choice of upgrade. I could have made him a general with leadership or a combatant with fire. I chose the latter

7. Two against one clan

The dwarves covered the retreat of the humans, and they did it quite successfully. Waves of orcs crashed against the dwarves' defenses, one after another. The battle was long. Meanwhile, Tallin and Hamel began to think about their next moves. They realized that they could not handle the orcs on their own and needed help. At that moment, Father Morwin (a white mage) joined the conversation. He said that before being captured by the orcs, he was acquainted with two wizard brothers who could help. Hearing their names, Hamel immediately began to object. A familiar chieftain of a neighboring clan, who had fought against the brothers, had told him about them. But the mage still managed to convince the dwarven lord of the need to contact the mages, and also to visit his gnome friend, who could also help.
Upon arriving at the location, the heroes saw an interesting scene. A lich, accompanied by several monsters, was attacking the dwarves' fort and was ready to deliver the final blow. Morwin and Kamerin (a crazy fire mage) tried to stop their old acquaintance from killing the dwarf, but he wouldn't listen to them. He said that the dwarf had killed him (well, he was a lich), and now he wanted to do the same to him. Then Morwin decided to stop the lich by force and teleported (yes, he has such an ability, which he sometimes uses in quests or when saving his wife when she is killed) together with his wife and Kamerin directly into the dwarves' fort. Together, they defeated the lich and put him in a cage. Now they were ready to capture the second brother, but it wasn't that easy, because ogres, trolls, and griffins were under the mages' command. When the second lich was surrounded, he finally decided to listen to us. As a result, the liches were given the opportunity to leave these lands and never bother them again if they helped us. The dwarves were offered to leave these lands to help Knalg and survive themselves (remember how the dwarf was almost killed at the beginning). Both sides agreed to the terms and joined our army in the fight against the orcs.

8. Rescuing the Princess

Hamell was pleased with the new allies, and they began to discuss further actions. Meanwhile, the griffins were sent out for reconnaissance. They didn't keep us waiting long, and a message arrived that a large elven army was moving from the east. A messenger was sent to them to find out their purpose, but they refused to talk. Then it became known that not far from our caves, the orcs had recently built a Fortress where they were holding an elven sorceress, who, as it soon turned out, was an elven princess. The scouts also captured an orcish messenger who was rushing to deliver a ransom message to the elves. This meant that the elves might pay the orcs, but in that case, we would be in trouble, as they would use that money to strengthen their army. After a long debate, Tallin decided to sneak into the orc camp and rescue the princess. If they were lucky, the elves would help them afterward. If not, at least the orcs would be left without the money. The allies reached the dungeon through one of the many tunnels and immediately began the attack. The orcs noticed them, but it didn't help, and all the orcish defenses were destroyed, and the princess was rescued. After that, Tallin and his friends hurried back to the caves...

9. Alarm

Once inside the cave, the princess began questioning her rescuers. She was clearly agitated, so much so that she couldn't even recognize her own sister. Yes, the dryad I rescued from the lich's lair turned out to be the princess's sister. They talked for a while, the sister brought the other sister up to speed, and everything became clear. The princess thanked Tallin and accepted the offer of an alliance, but they needed to warn the elven army about it. So, the rescue squad hurried to their camp, but unexpectedly, trolls appeared in their path. What are trolls doing near Knalg? Where did they come from? Tallin became worried and, after destroying the enemy, he ordered the others to speed up even more.

10. The Missing Gold

Upon arriving in Knalga, it became clear that something unfortunate had happened. The dwarves greeted Tallin and the others in silence. Only Hamel was able to explain what had occurred. It turned out that the orcs had attacked immediately after Tallin left, but it was a very large-scale attack. Hordes of orcs poured out of the southern tunnels, and Hamel had to bring in reinforcements from other locations, weakening their defenses. While they were fending off the orcs in the south, a group of trolls unexpectedly attacked from the north and stole the gold (my gold!!!), but the dwarves were unable to catch them. Not much time had passed since the trolls left, so Tallin decided to try to catch up with them and retrieve his gold. They followed the trolls through the tunnels for several hours until they finally emerged on the surface. Above, they were met by the trolls, who had gathered around. As it turned out, it was a trap, and the gold had already been sent to the orc chieftain. Before the battle could even begin, Crash suddenly soared into the air and flew away. We had to start without him. After the first troll camp was destroyed, Crash returned, and not alone, but with friends. Extra help is always welcome. Together, we easily dealt with the enemies, and near the end of the battle, elves appeared, but their help was no longer needed. The last of the trolls wanted to run away, but we didn't let them and finished them off.

Screenshot #1
I didn't wait and immediately rushed into battle. The dim-witted troll chieftain emerged from the fort to capture the mine. This was his first and last action. The Lich, Dryad, and Ghost killed him in one turn.

11. To the assault!

Immediately after the battle, the army continued its pursuit. We needed to intercept the gold before it reached Rakshasa. And there, on the horizon, appeared the walls of the Orcish Fortress. There we found the troll with the gold, as well as Rakshasa himself. But he didn't stay for long and, seeing us, immediately preferred to flee, leaving his generals to fight us. We didn't want to let him go, so the elven princess sent her general and the rest of the elves in pursuit. She stayed with us to help capture the fortress. The battle was quite difficult due to the large number of enemies. After defeating them, we rushed to help the elves.

screenshot #1
With each scenario, the fortress and the number of orcs are getting bigger and bigger. This time, however, there were five enemies, and they were all in one fortress. It was funny to watch them rush to capture the mines at the beginning so that others wouldn't get them.

screenshot #2
Here we met. By the way, I was controlling the dragons, just like in the previous scenario. Only they are a different color, so it turns out that I was playing on both sides)

It's a pity that my dart thrower, Wudok, fell in battle =(

12. The Avenger

Soon, Tallinn and his army reached the battlefield, which was littered with the corpses of orcs and elves. They found a few surviving elves, as well as their general, Hidel. He lay next to the bodies of the orcs, surrounded by many who had fallen by his sword. The princess rushed to her general, hugged him, and began to cry. The elf's eyes opened, and he began to speak. It turned out that reinforcements had arrived for the orcs, and after that, the elves had no chance. But they managed to retrieve the gold. The elf Sizzal, with her squad, retreated south, taking it with her. However, the orcs pursued them, while Rakshas himself went west. Then the general beckoned Tallinn and asked him to take care of the princess. Tallinn could not refuse and promised the dying elf that he would protect her at the cost of his own life. After that, the general died, and the princess continued to cry. Tallinn hugged her, and they sat like that for a while. The princess said that Hidel had protected her since birth, and she had sent him to his death. While these two were sitting, the others helped the wounded and prepared for the pursuit. When everything was ready, the princess decided to take command of the elves. And together they set off south to save Sizzal and the gold from the orcs. All night the warriors marched, and in the morning they caught up with the orcs, who were already fighting with the elves. Sizzal asked what had happened to Hidel and received a sad answer. "If it weren't for him, we would all be dead," she said proudly of her friend. While he held back the orcs, the others managed to retreat with the gold to the south and take refuge in the ruins. "For Hidel!" Sizzal shouted, and the elves rushed into battle, followed by everyone else. The battle ended quickly, and finally having retrieved their gold, Tallinn and his army headed after Rakshas.

13. The Tyrant's Demise

As they approached the enemy, the allies decided to split up. Krash headed north, the princess went south, and Tallin continued westward. They simultaneously reached the main Rakshasa fortress, surrounding it. He was surprised when he saw us. He began to talk about reinforcements arriving from the west, but instead of Orcs, Hamel arrived with Dwarves. And so, the four of us engaged in battle, the final battle. For friendship! For Knalga! For the Dwarf Gates! For peace! For the north! For Hidel! The ring around the Orcs began to close in...
I'm sure that none of those present had ever seen so many Orcs or a castle of such size before. It was a bloodbath in which the allies triumphed, and the Orcs were destroyed amidst general rejoicing. After the victory, everyone gathered in the captured castle and began to discuss further plans. The heroes understood that the Orcs would continue to cause trouble in the future, and they needed to think about this now. Father Morwin suggested creating an alliance of guardians, which would include representatives of all races and would maintain peace in the northern lands. Everyone agreed with this proposal. Then, Hamel suggested Tallin as the first leader of the guardians, and his candidacy was, of course, supported. Tallin agreed to accept this position but asked the others for help and to join him in this endeavor. Father Morwin and his wife, Terra, readily agreed. Starlag (the Dwarf who fought with the Liches) also accepted the offer, and the Archmage Kamerin did not refuse. Elenia (the Druid), however, preferred to return home to the Elves, whom she had not seen for so long. Krash also declined, saying that he would be better off returning to his people. Abhai decided to return to the Undead, as the Undead are better off among the Undead. Morwin promised to help him find peace, if possible, and to relieve him of this heavy burden. The Lich brothers also returned to their land to find peace. It was the princess's turn... Tallin approached her, knelt down, and proposed. Princess Erissa agreed. The celebration lasted for five days, and then Morwin married Tallin and Erissa, after which they returned to the Dwarf Gates. A few years later, they had a son, and they lived happily and peacefully.
The End.

Screenshot #3

Screenshot #5
Humans

Screenshot #6
The Dwarves broke through first. But this is easily explained because on the first turn, I (the Humans) already had heroes, and I moved them forward, while the others only hired units and spent one turn just standing around. Therefore, all the Orcish horde rushed towards the Humans (three tribes and a couple from the other two). The others had it easier, although not quite for the Drakes, because they have low damage and poor accuracy. The Elves had the longest way to go to the fortress, and the Orcs were defending strongly in the south. On the side of the Dwarves, there were probably the fewest Orcs, and the distance from the Dwarf camp to the Orcish castle is very short, so they broke through first.

Screenshot #7
Capture and slaughter. Everyone arrived here, except for the Humans. They fought the Orcs and Trolls until the end. I played three sides in this map, except for the Dwarves. The computer played for them.

The campaign is interesting, maybe one of the best, and definitely the most epic. There were no such large-scale battles in previous campaigns, although I don't particularly like them because they are a bit long and tedious. Fortunately, there were only three of them. The other maps are quite interesting. And the presence of so many heroes was also pleasing, and the dialogues were good.
PS It's strange that there are 13 scenarios, because the campaign says there are 14. I can only assume that there might have been an alternative walkthrough on the map with the princess rescue, in which you don't save the princess (there are two ways to win), and maybe then an additional map appears.

Pam-pam-pam. The time has come for a story about elves living in the desert. It's called "Under the Blazing Stars". The campaign promises to be challenging and interesting, perhaps even the most interesting of all. 1. Fire Rain The action takes place in the future, and the main character is an elf named Kale. He and his tribe live in the desert, in rather harsh conditions. One night, meteors fell on their village and destroyed almost all the houses, and many died. In the morning, Kale met his friend Nim, and together they went to look for survivors. Fortunately, there were some. They found a priestess with novices, a commander with soldiers, several riders, and other elves. However, in addition to the inhabitants, disgusting creatures resembling slime appeared in the village. They did not pose a great danger and were quickly destroyed by the elves. When all the survivors were found, a necromancer with his minions came from the north. Apparently, he was attracted by the fiery stones falling from the sky. But he failed to desecrate the dead and was the first to go to the afterlife. After the battle, the elves burned their dead comrades and decided to head north in search of a new home... (The fact is that Kale was the nephew of the village elder, who died, and now he has become the leader, and the other day he had a dream in which their elven goddess told him to lead his people north, where they will find a new home). screenshot #1 Slime creatures attack screenshot #2 Friend Nim screenshot #3 I upgraded the rider. In this campaign, there is a branching path for them, a new and quite interesting one

2. Hell

The elves were heading north. The daytime heat exhausted them, and they had very little water and food left. They tried to move quickly, from oasis to oasis. Along the way, they encountered hostile desert dwellers: scorpions, ogres, bandits, and undead. But there were also allies. In one of the slain ogres, they found a bottle. Nim opened it, and a desert demon flew out. It looked like a small whirlwind. Then they met the fire mage, Elyssa. She said that long ago, a great empire stood in the place of this desert, and many treasures lie beneath the sand. She was especially interested in the fire scepter, but she had no idea where to look for it. Perhaps they could help each other. After resting after all these battles, the elves replenished their water supplies and continued on their way.

Screenshot #4
Here are the main bandits.
The main character and the whirlwind are leveling up, but they don't gain a level or change their appearance; instead, they get to choose skills.

P.S. Before the start of the introductory scenarios, there are cutscenes, mainly about Kale's past. About his first battle, about the death of his father, etc. It's interesting, but I don't want to rewrite it)

3. Night Dwellers

As they moved north, the outlines of the mountains became clearer. Having reached the edge of the foothills, the elves stopped to make camp. At night, Kale had another dream. He dreamed of Elo - their goddess, and it was she who was guiding him north. This time, she told him that the elves should descend into the mountains, not go along them. Below, they would find a tower, and its tunnels would lead them to the right place. But this path is dangerous, and they should beware of those who hide in the darkness. Then Kale's dream was interrupted by Nim. She woke him up and asked him to go outside. The young elf witnessed a fascinating sight. Armies of the undead were fighting each other. Some were controlled by a necromancer, and others were led by a death knight. From their chatter, it became clear that they had a long-standing feud. But we didn't have time to sort it out, so we decided to get rid of all the undead. First, we destroyed the necromancer, and then we attacked the death knight. Unexpectedly, orcs appeared from the north; they also decided to join the battle. But when the second army of the undead was defeated, the orcs immediately retreated. Unfortunately, while we were killing the undead armies, their leader struck a fatal blow to our commander, and he died.

4. Descent

Here we are, at the mountains where the ruins of the tower are located. According to the priestess Zhul, only Garak knew this area, but now he is gone, and we must survive on this new land ourselves. Elyssa said that besides orcs, dwarves also lived here. Most likely, we will have to travel through their tunnels.
After some time, we managed to find caves, but they were inhabited by orcs and goblins. After dealing with them, the elves headed north. Soon they came to a tunnel that was different from the rest of the cave network. It became clear that dwarves used to live here, and we are on the right track...

5. Those Who Dwell in Darkness

The elves delved deeper and deeper. The walls pressed in on them, and it felt as if the ceiling could collapse at any moment. This place was alien to them, as they had spent their entire lives in the vast desert, and here there was very little space, just a narrow tunnel leading into the unknown. Fear overwhelmed Kale, but he tried not to show it and led his people forward, hoping that Elo would help them escape this terrible place.
It was comforting that the road was peaceful and uneventful... until we met dwarves and trolls fighting each other. Each side offered to join them, but first, we wanted to find out what the conflict was about. It turned out that the dwarves had come to the trolls' tunnels for ore and had started killing them, so they started a war, and therefore I decided to join the trolls. The battle was tough, but we still won. After killing the last dwarf, a troll named Zurg appeared and said that this was not the end and that we needed to complete another task. It consisted of sneaking into the dwarves' Fortress and killing their commander. According to the troll, the Fortress was poorly defended, as most of the dwarves were currently fighting in the tunnels.
