Posts from “Best map for Heroes of Might and Magic III” (2009).
There is no doubt that this map was created by a mapmaker specifically for me. However, some corrections were made to it (although it's unclear whether they were beneficial). I think the comment is absolutely fair! I hope the map's author (as well as the authors of other maps) will listen to the feedback and correct their shortcomings.

Skunks, your map has been received and posted. An email with best wishes has been sent to you.
As you can see from the last sentence, the contest organizer has already sent an email with feedback on the map.
P.S.: We are definitely looking forward to seeing your map!
I'm writing because I promised to release the map by the end of the week, but things fell through. My tester can't test it, and I don't have any other testers... (so I don't have enough time). I apologize for the delay.
Therefore, there will be a slight delay... Possibly until Monday, at most until Tuesday (I'm quite busy in the real world on weekends). The map is 99% ready. I'm polishing it and debugging the AI. I guess I'll have to test it all myself... and the version I send may contain inaccuracies due to my oversight as the author (not as a player who doesn't know the map at all).
I also have another serious question. Is it possible to protect the map with SuperDefender (it protects the map from being viewed in the editor, but you can still play it)? Although I haven't decided yet if I need this measure...
And if I have strong suspicions about the playability for a player (not the author, who knows all the tricks and strategies), I will ask the organizers to have the map tested after sending it, and then provide feedback on mandatory fixes related to playability. I'm forced to do this because I've lost my tester.

The contest map is planned to be used for an offline tournament. And for that, the map will definitely need to be viewed in the editor!! But I'm interested in the Super Defender program... Is it possible to use it to protect random maps during the game? pHOMM
I will ask to test the map after it is sent by the organizers, and then provide feedback on any necessary corrections.
No problem at all. We will point out all the flaws and help to refine it.
I don't know much about the program. It allows you to process maps that are ALREADY ready. As far as I know, it adds protection by appending information (a certain number of bytes) to the map header, which allows the game to recognize the map, but not the editor. If you study it a little, you can find out what this information is and then add code to the executable file of Heroes - the place where the map is generated. The program itself is here, but a slightly more advanced version was also posted somewhere: http://h3disk.narod.ru/download/files/sd.rar
Sent the map. I am also publishing the landscape editing program I wrote. Some purely visual effects of my map were created with it. It is available on the website, along with a description. My website is www.phomm.narod.ru I also used a hexadecimal editor and the H3objed program to create the map - www.grayface.chat.ru, author sergroj.
If there are any serious errors, please send the details to my email address. I tried to fix some of the map testing issues, but only about 40%. I tested it mostly myself, so I might have easily overlooked some mistakes.
Dear Archon! You can send funds to the WebMoney wallet Z166721012575. Please notify me if you send anything; I will post a confirmation in this thread once I receive it.
In the meantime, here's some news – I received the 2nd map submitted for the "Golden Fleece" contest from Oleg (apparently, this is Aivengo).
I have transferred the money to the prize fund – I apologize for the delay, but no one in our village works with WebMoney. The access code is 60650; please activate it within 3 days, otherwise it will be returned.
I fixed the map and submitted it for review. I don't know if I made it in time:confused:
Dear Skunksa, please take the time to follow the link at the end of the first post of the topic and download the program to convert the map from the WOG version to the SOD version, because your map, posted in the previous post, can only be opened in the WOG editor.
I submitted the map update a while ago, but I haven't received any feedback from the organizers yet. To avoid any misunderstandings, I'll post it here, and then it can be deleted.
The organizer, vbn, is currently experiencing some issues. So, as soon as possible! In the worst-case scenario, I'll check the submissions at the end of the contest.
2Archon: The money has been received by vbn. Huge thanks!!!
2Zoltan, pHOMM, Skunks, Ivanhoe, your maps have been received. Everything is okay. Also, a map called Minotaurs Kings was received from someone named Vlad. The rest will be processed later. ;)
I apologize for this right away, but I found a rather critical bug, all because of the lack of testing (((. I am resending the corrected map here and to the organizers' inbox, and I will also send a message on ICQ...
If you decide that the map cannot be used, well, that's fate, it's my mistake. However, I ask you to understand that I only now had time to explore the areas that were not thoroughly tested and discovered this flaw (it is small in itself, and from a distance, you wouldn't even understand that it spoils a lot), before that I was working and was hardly at the computer at home...
