I've had all sorts of pets! I had a long-haired guinea pig, a red Persian cat, hamsters, 3 parakeets, fish, and even pigeons that lived on my balcony for a year and a half :D And they reproduced! They raised 2 pairs of pigeons! Now I have one hamster – a Djungarian hamster named Lyusya. That's why I voted for hamsters, although I also love birds. It was funny when I bought Lyusya at a pet store, and two weeks later, she gave birth to 3 hamsters :smile19:
And I'll soon have a new "pet" – my sister was born this Monday! They should be discharged from the hospital with my mom on Tuesday.
As long as I can remember, we always had pets at home... hamsters, parrots, cats... if you count all the cats we've had, it comes out to about 30 (including the kittens after them)... now we have a cat, and sometimes it's so annoying that I want to kill it )))
I have a dog – a Mittel Schnauzer, a very smart, quiet, and calm animal (it barks for 23 hours a day) – and a couple of budgerigars. I wanted more (a zoo, so to speak!), but I don't like rodents in principle, and fish don't seem to thrive with me, so what should I do?:smile38: And with the birds and the dog, where would a cat fit in? By the way, the birds don't seem to like me very much...:smile21: Hmmmmm...
I have a lot of pets... thankfully, my apartment is big enough I don't have any rats anymore – I feel sorry for them... I have two cats, Murka (we gave away her kittens) and Tsubasa (Japanese for "tsuba"), and two black dachshunds... half live with my mom, and half with my dad... That's it...
I adore animals in general, and cats in particular. We never had a cat at home (my mother doesn't allow us to have one :smile05:), but my grandmother has always had some fluffy cutie. Right now, she has a cat named Krasotulchik (I call him Insulin :) ) and a gray, fluffy, very cute kitty named Musya. So, cats are my absolute favorite :) Other animals come in second place.
Mostly tasty ones, :) but sometimes you have to eat what's available. For example, I don't like the taste of domestic poultry. I prefer lamb and beef.))) :) But seriously, I once had a cat – he lived for a year. He was smart and lived like a king. He spent most of the day outside. He only came home to sleep and eat. And one day, he didn't escape from two dogs. Those bastards strangled him. But after I found out which dogs did it, no one saw them again. Maybe they'll be seen when the snow melts, sometime in May. (If anyone doesn't know, I live north of the Arctic Circle.) That's the story.

We've always had pets in our family. Different ones. But cats have always been around. And I, personally, have brought all sorts of creatures home since childhood. A hedgehog, a snake, a pigeon, a swift... We even had two shrimp...:cool: Right now, I have: a cat named Asya, a canary named Fedya (by the way, he named himself), a white frog named Jacques, some fish, and two mice - Pasha and Stepushka.
I like all animals, even marmosets! And hamsters, and dogs, and cats!)))) I really want to get a white albino bat!)))) Arandor, I fell in love with your cat!:D But don't think that I suffer from zoophilia)

Mittel Schnauzer! I had one too, or rather, she was a Mittel Schnauzer, her name was Barba. She didn't bark, praise all Dragons! Well, she did bark, but not 23 hours a day (I'm horrified!). I also love cats, but my dad is allergic:(. It didn't work out...

But I despise dogs. For their inability and lack of independence. For their obsequiousness and eagerness to please humans. An animal should be untamed. Like a horse or a cat. But dogs are ready to crawl before people and indulge all our whims. I absolutely cannot stand this.

Oh, what a dilemma I have. Should I vote for cats or dogs? I don't know... I've had both. I had a dog, he was my age... He died when I was fourteen... He was a good dog... A Newfoundland (water rescue dog). Now we want to get a new one. I also had a cat. He died from an unknown illness... He would have seizures from time to time, and one day, the seizure didn't stop, and we had to put him down so he wouldn't suffer... Another dog (a stray, inherited from my grandmother) was hit by a car. Now I only have one cat left, who has been with me since 1999. I'm waiting for a dog))

But why should she "make a mess"? My cat sleeps on the bed day and night. And hasn't made a mess even once. :smile17: And in general, during all the time she's lived with me, she hasn't made a mess in the wrong place. And when she wants to sit on my lap, she asks first. I used to have a lot of aquariums (about 5), where different fish swam (catfish, cichlids, barbs, labeos), but then I had to sell them all.
Now I wouldn't mind getting back into fishkeeping, and maybe even getting a 2-meter-long python (I really love snakes).
