Unlike in Iczakan, this part of the Dungeon was cool, which was effectively combatted by a decent-looking fireplace, and overall the atmosphere was quite cozy, but there were also some specific nuances. For example, one of the walls was decorated with trophies – stuffed animals and skulls of monsters, furies, and sord. In one of the corners, there was a cage with young furies, and in the other, a fierce-looking female on a chain.
She looked at Dorian and Hataright with eyes full of aggression and hatred. For now, there were no other people here. - They will be here soon... - explained the nervous Hat. - And this is Killa, by the way. She doesn't really like people, as you can probably tell.
—Indeed, why wouldn't she dislike us... —Dorian himself would prefer a dead non-human to a living one, because the latter, being driven by simple animal instincts, would never forget or forgive such treatment. —I hope the chain is strong; she won't bite through it with those terrible fangs...
Shivering slightly, the unlucky thief, with a slightly lost air of arrogance, curiously examined the trophy hall. —...Yes, I guess this is how I imagined it. But in reality, it's completely different than in my head.
- So, I don't quite understand... Are we "maintaining neutrality" or "helping the cats"? That Jeltman, who's also planning to "help the cats," is over there. We can recruit him and his group. Especially since they have miners... But I don't understand how this fits with our "neutrality"...
- We don't need to help the cats; we just need to tell him that what we're doing might help them. Don't you get it?
- Just tell me how much to prepare, and I'll do it in no time! As long as I can influence it, no one will go hungry!
- I don't know exactly, but there are many of them, - replied Barley. - Did you count them? - The guy turned to his friends and asked them. - I don't want to go back and recount.
"Indeed, why wouldn't she love us..." — Dorian himself would have preferred a dead non-human to a living one, since the latter, driven by simple animal instincts, would never forget or forgive such treatment. "I hope the chain is sturdy — she won't be able to bite through it with that terrible cannon in her teeth..."
Shivering slightly, the unlucky kidnapper looked around the trophy main hall with curiosity tinged with slightly deflated arrogance. "..Yes, this is roughly how I pictured it. But in reality it's, of course, quite different from what's in my head."
- That "cannon" is her punishment, the boss said to keep it in her teeth, or else he'll make trophies out of her cubs, - a nod toward the cage, - ... In Khataraita's head, thoughts had already run through a hundred times that he had made a mistake by agreeing to come here, but it was too late to back out, and he barely showed his nervousness — though he was very taciturn.
While the "tourists" were getting acquainted with the interior, more and more new faces began to trickle inside, one of whom turned out to be the leader of the community himself. He had a rather unremarkable appearance, so picking him out in a crowd of strangers wasn't all that easy — the only thing that gave him away was how the others behaved toward him: it was a mixture of respect and fear. For example, when the gaze of his single eye landed on someone, that person's gaze dropped to the floor. Massaging his broken nose, he sat down in one of the armchairs, while the other community members took their places along the sides and along both walls of the hall, but no one stood behind him. The hat and the two recruits remained in the center.
Doru felt like he recognized the leader's face from somewhere, but he couldn't quite recall where he had seen it. He wasn't particularly afraid of Kaen himself, but he also didn't want to put on airs. He already had two strikes against him, and there was no chance of finding other allies in the underworld.
The newcomer glanced at Hat, waiting to see what formalities and in what order he needed to perform in this scene. Sometimes in human communities, the boss spoke first; other times, subordinates had to bow and ask for permission to speak...
Rurek sat there, eating and thinking about something of his own...
“Listen to me, humans,” he finally addressed the overground creatures present, among whom were both science enthusiasts and admirers of the local princess/empress/goddess’s figure, “I spoke with the Sword of Onyx. As long as Ikazkan doesn’t start to burn, the ruler of the Ivlai will not interfere in the squabbles of humans and other races. But as soon as the Cheesemakers attack the city, and this will happen sooner or later,” Rurek’s eyes flashed, “such a massacre will begin that no science or love for Onyx will help. We will have to fight. And many will die. But we can do things differently. We can simply prevent the vile humans from achieving their goals. No troublemakers – no war. Everything will remain as it was before. Peaceful humans, peaceful Ivlai, peaceful Sords, and so on. The Cheesemakers are not all humans, but only one of their clans, albeit a strong one. So, adventurers, who are you for? For the destruction of Ikazkan or for saving it?”
Rurek decided to draw inspiration from the sword and be filled with its charisma. He just removed the part about beating his interlocutors to half-death from the image.
As he said these words, Jingo glanced at his companion.
"Yeah, I hear you. Your 'favorite topic,' right?" he thought, but said nothing.

Cheese-makers are not all humans.
- Look at this... - he continued to whisper to her in Teotian.
- Sord is making progress. It seems he's starting to realize that humans are different.
- As my grandfather used to say... "As soon as Kura-Grill pecks you in the ass, then...", well, never mind... This dull Sord is starting to figure things out. That's already pretty good...

- I think the question here is how much we can carry, - said Kapusta.

The recruit glanced at Hat, waiting for what formalities and in what order he needed to play in this scene. Sometimes in human communities, the boss spoke first, and sometimes subordinates had to kneel and ask for permission to speak...
No one knelt or performed any other rituals, but being in the center of a group of curious eyes was not a pleasant experience. - Tell me, Hat, is it about the hat, or is the hat the problem? - Kaen asks, and from the subordinate's silence, he understands the answer. - Tell me how it happened. The crossbowman describes the incident in the Ganba cave in detail. - It happened like this... I underestimated him, and at the same time, I overestimated him. I'm to blame. - He wipes the sweat from his forehead with the back of his hand. - But the guys didn't mess up; they didn't really know what they were getting into. I would even say that they did well, given the circumstances... - I see. - He nods to the others. - Throw him into the pit with the bugs. Hat's face turns the color of paper, but he doesn't resist - he knows it's useless. They grab him and take him away from Ting. - I already know the pervert, and I think I'm seeing you for the first time, - he looks at Dorian assessingly, - tell me, Sorcerer, what do you expect from our order.
