So, if I understand correctly, the cat ended up being the one to blame?
Where do we end up when we save the world?
New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?

I find something else interesting. Let's imagine there was no "bolt to the eye," but the guy encountered another patrol squad. Since 99% of the soldiers in the expansions are arrogant jerks, and he looks like a mutant from Chernobyl, they would interrogate him rudely and aggressively (even more so than Anselm). How would he react to that? Wouldn't he immediately start smashing heads, and if they offered to tie him up and take him to the city (for safety), would he immediately unleash a wave of spells? Or am I misunderstanding this character's personality?
I'm not arguing anymore, I'm just trying to understand the correct course of action that was intended for us. Should we politely listen to him and escort him to the city? But what if he approaches the walls and blows everything up with magic? But he also won't agree to interrogation and detention. He hasn't technically broken any rules, but what should we say in the report? A plague avatar of a demon lord is wandering around the forest, and we let him go? And what prevents a squad of soldiers in Arthurian armor from saying that they are just returning from a festival and got lost in the forest?)))
In short, the more I think about this quest, the less I understand it.

In short, I'm making a post with a walkthrough.
Well, anything can happen... Let's discuss the option of "trying to aim our weapons and detain him peacefully, and if he doesn't agree, we attack as a priority." In principle, we don't lose anything compared to the option of "just attacking," although it will likely rule out the peaceful option. Essentially, it's close to what I suggested from the beginning, although it doesn't seem as relevant now, considering how much time has passed and that we have -50 relationship points.
Let's discuss the option: "Try to aim a weapon and politely detain him; if he doesn't agree, we attack in turn."
Now that you've decided on your next course of action, I'll say this... Judging by what has been written about this character, it seems that no one really understood him. He is aware that he is in a foreign country, and therefore he observes some basic rules and, moreover, when some bandits shoot him in the eye, he gives them a chance to explain themselves and seeks reconciliation. He doesn't demand money "for treatment." He doesn't demand that they kiss his boots. He simply says, "Well, you're quite the uncouth bunch," and even that is in a very polite manner compared to the situation. At the same time, he looks at the situation from a position of strength – he has already given you a chance after you attacked him without reason, and then someone who is clearly weaker than him starts to act arrogant after what they did just a minute ago. How else is he supposed to react? Even after all that has happened, he is still willing to give everyone a chance to resolve the situation peacefully. To be honest, I am even a little surprised by this turn of events. In my mind, this was supposed to be a simple quest, but with each action, the situation escalated more and more. Even the "boorish, uncouth guards" wouldn't have gone this far.
