Dude, if you want a decent animated movie of this kind, you should check out Miyazaki, although you probably already love him. Here, it's just Disney, but hardcore. On the other hand, when everything is fluffy and vanilla, that's good too, because there's already enough suffering and real-life stuff.

It's not a matter of whether you like it or not, Mate. I personally don't find Moana as a character particularly engaging. But calling her a Mary Sue is a bit strange, to say the least. Especially since she's a pretty typical Disney character.

I prefer it when the crises... are real crises.

Watch "Kubo and the Two Strings." Actually, you can watch any of the other animated films from that studio. They're all good. It's a shame that there aren't more of them yet.

Damn, you can’t get a plot summary out of you. I’ll have to Google it and write my own. I’m not a fan of King, but “The Tower” is really a worthwhile read. Ment, I wouldn’t say that everything is just gloom and doom there. There are also very bright, life-affirming themes. Although the protagonist is quite the scumbag, and in general, there is indeed decay and hopelessness, as in any normal post-apocalyptic setting. But there are also things to laugh about. By the way, I heard that they are going to film “Metro 2033”. I really don’t want that to happen. I heard that it will be made by Americans, but I wouldn’t trust anyone with that. Our filmmakers haven’t brought cinema to an acceptable level yet, and the Americans will make an action movie with special effects and ruin the whole atmosphere.

If a person isn't even a fan of King, hasn't read the book, and therefore doesn't have that reader's subjective perspective, and still laughs at a work that is dark in its setting... well, that's telling.

To be fair, King himself has things to laugh about.

Implying that we would do it better.

In any case, the book is better.

Commando

I've been meaning to watch some old action movies with Schwarzenegger, Stallone, and other Segal for a while now. I even made a list, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Or rather, I haven't been in the mood. And then I thought that my mood hasn't been good for about four years now, lol. Anyway, it's a good movie, I liked it. A good guy takes down the bad guys in no time, and EVERYTHING WORKS OUT for him, he ALWAYS HAS LUCK, ALL the bullets miss or only graze him, and in general, MIRACLES happen. In short, it's a typical action movie from that time, but I think there's something to it. Maybe I need to watch different kinds of movies sometimes, because I watch all these art-house films where everything is bad and life sucks, and you just sit there and nod, thinking about how relatable everything is. I remembered that when I was a kid, when cable TV first appeared, they used to show similar action movies, and I would watch them (although I don't remember exactly what I watched, maybe I even saw Commando). That's all it took to be happy. When I watched it now, I felt so warm, as if I had returned to my childhood, and my mood improved a little. It's a shame it didn't last long...

Forgot one more thing. I tried to watch "Beauty and the Beast," the new Disney live-action movie. I couldn't watch it, though; it felt like some cheap musical, for some reason recorded on film. It repeats the animated movie in some places almost exactly, but is it worth mentioning that it doesn't look nearly as good in live-action as it does when it's animated?
Anyway, that's a disappointment. 3/10. It might have gotten more points if the animated movie didn't exist, but why watch the worse of two works?

True Lies

A funny movie, I had a good laugh.

Based on Nebka's recent posts, it's hard to determine his fictional preferences.

My tastes are very specific; you wouldn't understand.

13 Reasons Why

I accidentally heard the title of this series and looked it up. The theme of teenage relationships isn't something I'm interested in; I've never been a teenager, but I decided to watch it, just for fun. The series has everything that should be in a series about American teenagers in 2017 (gays, lesbians, all sorts of oppression, bullying, feminism, and other similar things). But I don't care, as I'm indifferent to all these modern trends, especially in a foreign country. The main reason why the main character committed suicide is obvious from the very beginning, immediately after reading the description of the series. But it was still interesting to watch the suffering of the main character and the other characters. I don't understand this, but it seemed that the actors played well, and the series was well made, considering the audience it's aimed at, as well as the book. I laughed out loud at some scenes, even though the characters were supposedly having a bad time. In general, it doesn't matter. What do I want to say? If you're an American teenager (girl/someone who identifies as a girl), you can safely watch this series! You'll enjoy it.

I see you enjoy watching others suffer.

I hoped that Nebok would finally watch some anime series and decide to leave a review.

I see you enjoy watching others suffer.

Not exactly enjoy... sometimes it's just LIFE, and sometimes it's funny.

I hoped that Nebok finally watched some anime and decided to leave a review.

Soon. Wait for it.

I wanted to add something to that post and forgot, but now I can: the complex and ambiguous design of the champion is not for young people under 25.

Groundhog Day

A typical movie about love (and something else, but I didn't get it). Nothing special. Do everything right, be a good guy, and everything will be fine! Heh. No, it won't. Don't fall for it, guys.

The Running Man

So, it's 2017, and where is my post-apocalyptic future? What? They lied again? Oh, come on! It can't be! Ugh...

Alright, it's 2017, so where's my post-apocalyptic future?

Just wishful thinking...
