Hello everyone, please help me understand: The Phoenix, under Berserk, didn't attack a unit below it that was standing next to it, but instead flew one tile up and attacked two units. What could be the reason for this behavior? We were playing a TC3 map under HD+ (the latest version for both), with the SuperPack_Rus 1.5 plugin enabled. We also disabled the "Tournament Rules" option.
If the unit below was two hexes away, and the Phoenix didn't have the opportunity to attack it from behind, then the monster under Berserk "doesn't see" that unit, even if the front hex is free for attack.
If the unit was smaller than two hexes and the Phoenix couldn't attack it from behind, then the berserk monster "doesn't see" that unit, even if the front hex is free for an attack.
Thank you! Where can I read more about the berserk mechanic?

Incredibly, but you should start with FizMig. As with everything else regarding any mechanics, you should read about it in FizMig first. https://vk.com/fizmig regarding Berserk, see pages 91-92.

Indeed, incredible :) A real treasure trove of knowledge :)
Thanks, though a link to vk is not ideal :)
I took this from here: /topic/at/286014/; there are 70 pages, I didn't find anything about berserkers, so I need some help :smile15:
update: Found a more recent version. Who is currently in charge here? :) It would be good to update the file in the "Reference and Tutorial Materials for HoMM3 Online Players" section. Didn't find basic principles, only features related to the behavior of two cell units.Eranikus
If that unit below was smaller than two hexes, and the Phoenix couldn't attack its rear cell, then the monster under Berserk wouldn't “see” such a unit, even if the front hex is free for an attack.
The unit below is fish, and it was possible to attack its rear cell.
