The previous tournament went quite well, so there is a desire to repeat it. Perhaps even make it an annual event.

Rules:

1) Game version - HotA+HDmod+HWrulez (latest versions everywhere)

2) Template - Jebus Cross

3) Timer - 8+4+1

4) Tournament format - Swiss system with elimination after two losses.

Each round is played bo3.

5) Selection of castles and colors - randomizer + single trade (the winner chooses either color or castle).

At the request of any player, the determination of castles may be made in advance rather than on the day of the game (no later than 24 hours before the game). This is to allow some practice with the chosen castle.

6) Simultaneous turn up to 117 inclusive.

7) Restarts - 2 days total.

8) Red-rush is allowed, only fast roads.

9) Clarifications on the interpretation of the restart rule regarding blocks are added specifically for this tournament. A block is read as a guard (or group of guards) that:
- blocks both roads to villages (the presence/absence of a free road in ГО is not taken into account)
- cannot be killed with a loss of less than half the army
- cannot be bypassed in less than one day's march (1500 moves). Moves are counted "from road to road" via the shortest route. If there are breakable guards along the way, they are considered broken.

Other rules are standard.

Players have the right, by mutual agreement, to make any changes to the rules except for the template and timer.

Misc:
- the tournament is fan-made
- tournament games go into the rating by default, but at the request of any player, they may not. Notification should be given before the start of the series.
- the winner will be awarded something for their avatar (suggestions are welcome)

Tournament start immediately after the New Year holidays - 09.01.2017

Winner of the previous tournament - KobRa_RR

5300 was paid for the swamp.
The opponent surrendered Sultan Efreet on turn one. And this circumstance overshadowed all other nuances. I missed turn two on the timer, as usual. :D
But the Sultans handled everything. The opponent lost a lot by moving to the center.

Bought the Dungeon for 4700. It spawned 2 Dragon Nests and a single Guardian with boots. After that, it was just a matter of execution. The resource spawn was rich, but I didn't have time to collect everything due to the timer. I made a reliable exit at 124. 30 Cyclops with golden bows, 5 red dragons, 6 angels, 14 archers, and single units. But the opponent is getting destroyed by their own Grand Guardian!

I don't remember the details of that old save. I remember taking a level 122 Utopia and adding Archons. On level 123, with 6 Archons, I was going to take a second Utopia, but my opponent surrendered. GG!

Opp paid 3200 for the blue dungeon. Which made me very happy. However, in the game everything went not according to plan. Twice it spawned without any hippogryph nests and I took respawns.

And on the third try it spawned... ta-daam, with no nests at all. And I played my more or less typical blitz Jebus Cross. The entire first week I ran around in panic from a lost timer, trying to find/do at least something. Moreover, I already derailed the whole week on the second day, when I went with my main hero to properly level up on upgrade dwellings, heading towards a scouted mini-Griffin Conservatory. But it turned out that on the way to the mini-Conservatory through the gorge between the mountains lies a CACTUS hidden by those mountains, and you can't get to the Conservatory. I could have broken out from this dead end by spending almost another turn. And getting to the Conservatory after that would have taken another turn and a half. In short, one turn cost me an entire week right away. There are no nests, you need something to ramp up from. That mini-Conservatory was that something.

In the second week (regularly failing to take a turn with someone), I dumbly took the mini-Conservatory on respawn, then hives, then two tier-3 Conservatories. And finally around turn 125-127 I broke out. With earth magic but without logistics. And I spun around near the respawn exit for all 3 days because I'm quick on the uptake (not). I had a scroll of fly in hand, and about 100 mana. But I don't yet know how to use it. However, in reality it was all planned. After all, I've had the ultimate argument of all slowpokes from the respawn — shackles. And with them, the best strategy is to not leave at all. Level up on respawn, lull them into a false sense of security. And then break out in one turn and catch them off guard while they're ramping up.

Finally, the 3rd week arrived and suddenly everything ended at once. Turn 131 — buy meat and a Dragon Utopia. In the Dragon Utopia +6 to all stats. I approach with my main hero along the road to a sword +5 to all stats. I don't have time to have almost all my heroes finish moving in the chain.

But while the opponent is taking their turn, I discover that these heroes who haven't finished moving are standing not just in a chain, but in a main hero's chain with two scholars, so that I can kill a scout on turn 132 who just found slow on respawn — and in one fell swoop — send 5 bears for an upgrade and pass slow to the main hero. If I had finished moving, I would have definitely broken something. :D

Well, on turn 132 my main hero took +5 to all stats, went straight ahead, and caught them all just as they were ramping up. Moreover, Shakti was in order. Imp kills with a single hit on any of my stacks. Except he was standing on seven angels. And they were only enough for 2 imps (on the angels and cyclopes; the grays and ducks survived). And his army (which was also bigger than mine) was behind on the scout.

The opponent paid 3200 for the blue dungeon. Which made me very happy. However, in the game itself, things didn't go according to plan. Twice it spawned without behemoth hives, and I took rests.

And on the third try, it spawned... ta-daaam, with no hives at all. So I played my more or less typical blitz-Jebus. I spent the entire first week panicking over a wasted timer, trying to find/do at least something. And I derailed the whole week as early as the second day, when my main hero went to level up properly on stat boosts leading to a scouted mini-Griffin Conservatory. But it turned out that on the path to the mini-Conservatory through the gorge between the mountains, there was a CACTUS covered by those mountains, making it impossible to reach the Conservatory. I could have broken out of this dead end, spending almost another turn. And getting to the Conservatory after that would have taken another turn and a half. In short, one turn immediately cost me a week. There are no hives, you need some source to snowball. That mini-Conservatory was it.

On the second week (regularly not having time to move someone), I dumbly took the mini-Conservatory on respawn, the hives, then two level-3 Conservatories. And finally, around turn 125-127, I broke out. With Earth magic but without Water. And I spent all 3 days spinning around the respawn exit, because I'm quick on the uptake (not). I had a Fly scroll in hand and about 100 mana. But I still don't know how to use it. Though in reality, it's all planned. After all, I've had the decisive argument of all slowpokes since respawn - the Shackles of War. And with them, the best strategy is to not even leave. Power-level at respawn, lull them into a false sense of security. Then leave and catch them on the snowball in one move.

Finally, the 3rd week arrived, and suddenly it was all over. Turn 131 - bought some meat and a Dragon Utopia. In the Utopia: +6 to all stats. My main hero took a +5 to all stats sword on the road. I almost managed to finish moving all heroes in the chain.

But while the opponent was moving, I noticed that these unfinished heroes were standing not just in a chain, but in a main hero's chain with two scholars, so that I could defeat a secondary hero on turn 132 - the one who had just found Slow on respawn - and in one fell swoop - transport 5 bears for an upgrade and pass Slow to the main hero. If I had finished moving them, I would have definitely broken something. :D

Well, the main hero on turn 132 took the +5 to all stats, went straight, and caught them all right on their snowball. And Shakti was in good shape. His imps were killing any of my stacks in one hit. But he was standing on seven Angels. And they were only enough for 2 imps (on the angels and the cyclopes; the dwarves and the griffins survived). And his army (which was also larger than mine) was behind on the secondary hero.

I don't remember the details of that old save. I remember taking a level 122 Utopia and adding Archons. On level 123, with 6 Archons, I was going to take the second Utopia, but my opponent surrendered. GG!
Thanks for the games!

I remember there were no objects... on the second week, there was nothing to break through with... (c) response from Lucky=

Thanks for the game!

Bought the Dungeon for 4700. It spawned 2 Dragon Nests and a single Consul with boots. After that, it was just a matter of technique. The resource spawn was rich, but I didn't have time to collect everything due to the timer. I made a reliable exit at 124. 30 Cyclops with golden bows, 5 red dragons, 6 angels, 14 ducks, and single units. But the opponent was getting destroyed by his own Grand Knight!

After two Dragon Nests and a Dungeon village, I had 19 Griffin Riders... the problem was finding enough oil to buff 50-99 Cavaliers.
Maybe I could have done better in the center... anyway, I made 124 on the day of the exit.
They arrived - and we beat up those Griffin Riders :D

Thanks for the game!

Due to the large number of unfinished matches, the 4th round is extended by a week – until April 10, 2017. Special attention is given to the Diabler-freesha pair, which has delayed the completion the most.

I bought a dungeon for 3900, unfortunately didn't buy the color according to the rules))
In-game, I scouted an external dwelling of cats on day 111, captured it on day 112, scouted another external dwelling of cats, and started playing. Total from spawn: 24 ducks, 21 cats. No Mass Slow, I exited through bears with Haste 36 units on day 123. Blind and a Scholar who passed it in time helped. I broke through all the GO, basically a wasted turn. Next, I run to get the +2 speed Cloak of the Dragon Fly Hive. I find a town, and next to it a CV and Wings behind breakable guards. Then I take 2 Dragon Utopias, they give everything I need, I replenish mana, and overwhelm the opponent on day 131 with an Imp dealing 2500+ damage. GG!

Sultan Efreet - GO. I gathered 5 angels, 36 ducks. To fight the GO, I stayed home to level up Earth magic and pick up a Phoenix for the first turn. On 131, I didn't manage to put on the Magic Cloak in time due to the timer and got hit hard.

Thanks for the game!

By the way, this has already happened twice in this tournament — during OH, I couldn't do anything in combat: I could move the cursor and click, but nothing would happen (had to use autosave for this). And also twice during OH, the turn would pass on its own, even though the timer still had time and the hero had movement points left. The standard window notifying about unspent movement points did not appear in this case.
This information might be useful for the HotA developers.

Thank you for the game. The timer was very helpful in securing the victory. P.S. I got a level 30 Beatrice, she's a real walking scout.
