9) Prizes will be divided among the players who take the first three places:
1st place - 125 dollars
2nd place - 50 dollars
3rd place - 25 dollars.

Anyone wishing to make additional contributions to the prize pool can do so, and the prizes for the places taken will be revised. In the previous tournament, a second sponsor was added after the group stage and the prizes increased.

Player selection criteria:
1) Rating on ХВ
2) Won tournaments and prize places in tournaments on various portals
3) Games won in official reports on ХВ against the most skilled players possible
4) Experience of played matches (quantity)

The tournament format is chosen as follows.
1) Selected players will be distributed into 4 baskets depending on the player's rating (but other merits will also be considered, as rating is not the optimal option).
2) There will be 8 groups of 4 players. 2 people advance from each group. First-place players enter the winners' bracket, and second-place players enter the losers' bracket. There will be 3 rounds in which players will play each other once:
3) In the winners' bracket, players play BO3 series (best of three), and in the losers' bracket, until the first victory. There will be a winners' final, a losers' final, a Grand Final, and a match for 3rd place:
4) Tournament duration:
- Group stage - 3 weeks.
- Play-off rounds (depending on the number of games in BO3 - 2 or 3) will last - 8-12 weeks.
- Total tournament duration - 11 - 15 weeks (2.75 - 3.75 months). But nothing prevents playing the matches ahead of schedule. These are the deadlines if everyone drags it out until the last moment. Anyone who fails to play in time will simply be eliminated from the tournament.

A huge amount of work on editing, voice-over, and uploading videos falls on me. Therefore, help from all who wish will be accepted.

Videos will be posted on the YouTube channel, as were all the games of the first tournament.
Games of the first tournament:
Subscribers Tournament 2016

The goal is to gather as many willing players with a good level of play as possible, but applications from other interested parties will also be considered. Stronger players are recruited first. Weaker players may be moved to substitutes. Anyone wishing to participate or having suggestions for the tournament, please write below. The first tournament was interesting to viewers - that's why the second one is being organized. The goal is to attract more sponsors and organize more tournaments with prizes. In case of a shortage of players, the tournament will be supplemented with players from my VK chats. The tournament should be fully covered on services like YouTube and be a kind of archive for Heroes players - that's how I see it.

TOURNAMENT RULES:

***************************************************************************************************
GAME START
0) The game is conducted exclusively on the SoD (The Shadow of Death) version!
1) Game rules are used from the ХВ portal: /topic/10593/. Everything not specified in the tournament rules is governed by the ХВ portal rules.
2) Templates used in the tournament (you can agree with your opponent to play on other templates and with other settings). If no agreement on the timer is reached, a coin is tossed (for the chess or mirror timer specified below):

Timers:
- Skirmish M200____(10:00+05:00+01:15) or SOD 6 min
- mir_Diamond L+U__(24:00+08:30+01:30) or SOD 8 min
- 2sm4d(3) L+U____(21:00+08:00+01:30) or SOD 8 min
- Anarchy L+U_____(21:00+08:00+01:30) or SOD 8 min
- H3dm1 L+U_______(21:00+08:00+01:30) or SOD 8 min
- Jebus Cross XL___(28:00+09:30+01:45) or SOD 11 min
- 8mm6a XL+U_____(24:00+09:00+01:30) or SOD 10 min
- 6lm10a Xl+U______(24:00+09:00+01:30) or SOD 10 min

Settings for templates:
- Skirmish M200____(2 players, 200%, roads - slow and medium, monsters - medium) - random heroes
- mt_Diamond L____(8 players, 160%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong) - random castles and heroes (by agreement, a castle can be generated and heroes chosen)
- 2sm4d(3) L+U____(2 players, 160%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong)
- Anarchy L+U_____(2 players, 200%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong) - there are no restrictions in the game rules.
- H3dm L_________(2 players, 160%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong) - random castles and heroes (by agreement, a castle can be generated and heroes chosen)
- Jebus Cross XL___(2 players, 160%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong)
- 8mm6a XL+U_____(8 players, 160%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong)
- 6lm10a Xl+U______(8 players, 160%, roads - fast and medium, monsters - strong)

List of templates (For convenience):
Skirmish M200, mir_Diamond, 2sm4d(3), Anarchy, H3dm1, Jebus Cross, 8mm6a, 6lm10a

3) Settings for templates (and their schemes) can be taken from the ХВ portal: /topic/6313/
Mandatory settings:
- Connection of the Hw-Rules 1.38 plugin
- Enabling guild rebuilding (on all templates except Anarchy). By agreement, it is possible to play without guild rebuilding.
- Cartographers and key-bearers are disabled on all templates except Anarchy. By agreement, they can be left enabled.
- Obelisks are left by default.
- Other settings - by agreement. If no agreement is reached, they are disabled.

4) A coin is tossed (in the first game between players).
- The winner first crosses out the template and first chooses the castle and hero (which is allowed by ХВ rules, on the selected template)
- The loser can then choose their castle and hero (allowed by ХВ rules), already knowing the castle (and hero) of the first player
. The loser chooses their color (by agreement, the color can be changed after restarts).
- Identical castles are also allowed (if they are still available for both players).
- In the play-offs, the player who crossed out templates second in the previous match crosses them out first (in the first game, a coin is tossed).

5) Restarts 112 (on mirror maps 111).
6) If the HOST specified incorrect settings in the game, this can be reported to the HOST, tournament organizers, or judges up to 113 inclusive, providing screenshots, screen sharing, or video. The game must be recreated without loss of restarts for the players. From 114 onwards, objections are not accepted (look carefully and check!)
7) When choosing castles, any castle that the player has not yet played with in the tournament is chosen. Once the player has played with all castles, the castle selection starts from zero (all 9 races are available). And so on in a circle.
8) For a rule violation that affected the outcome of the game - technical defeat. But if the rule violation did not affect the outcome of the match, the decision is made according to the opinion of the opponent and the judges (if the opponent does not mind, the violation may be ignored).

***************************************************************************************************

RULE AMENDMENTS FOR TEMPLATES:
9) On the Skirmish m200 template, the game is played with random heroes!
10) On mirror templates, the game is played with random castles - therefore, it is allowed to use a castle that has already been used before (not available for selection due to repetition). If the game is played with a castle you haven't played with yet, it also becomes unavailable for selection after the game.
11) On Mirror templates (H3dm1, Mir_Diamond) - redrush is forbidden, it is allowed to pass by shifted guards and passages between zones. Upgrading all creatures and necromancy booster are allowed.

***************************************************************************************************

VIOLATIONS
12) In case of disputed situations, inability to contact the opponent, and for all questions, contact the organizer and tournament judges (as soon as possible).
13) Fixed matches are possible in the tournament. Therefore, if the organizer or judges, based on played matches, see a benefit of the result for the players and the actions in the match clearly hint at this, a decision on the technical defeat of both players may be made! (matches in the group stage will be checked especially closely).
14) If failures and disconnects occur during the game, at the request of the opponent, screenshots of crashes and in-game messages must be provided as proof (or this must be visible on the video recording). Otherwise, at the request of the opponent, a technical defeat may be recorded for the player.
15) If there was a break (disconnect) due to a power outage or computer failure, all saves after the match are immediately transferred to the tournament judges.

***************************************************************************************************

DEADLINES
16) All matches must be played strictly on time. I advise contacting your opponent on the very first day of the round to decide when you can play (if the opponent does not respond, notify the judges - so that this can be used for a technical decision after the weekend).
17) If no agreement can be reached, the game must take place on weekends (Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday). At the same time, the tournament organizer must be notified of the inability to agree - he may personally appoint a convenient time for both or schedule the game for the weekend and Friday evening (the main time for playing in this tournament). If the opponent was unable to play by the end of the weekend evening, a technical result is recorded. After two technical results, a player may be excluded from the tournament!
18) When a time for the game is agreed upon between opponents and one of the players cannot play at the appointed time, they must agree on another time together. But if less than three days remain until the end of the round and the players cannot agree, the player who was unable to play on Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday receives a technical defeat. If both players cannot play at this time and cannot coordinate their time after the weekend, both receive a technical defeat!
19) For refusing to play a game or for not fitting into the set deadlines, a warning is issued. After two warnings - removal from the tournament.
20) Friday evening, Saturday, and Sunday are the main times for playing, which participants should rely on. But by agreement, you can play on any day and time.
- Monday to Friday (19:00 - 24:00 Moscow time)
- Saturday and Sunday (12:00 - 24:00 Moscow time)
21) Regardless of the chances of advancing from the group, the player must play all their matches! (In the play-off series, it is not necessary to play games that no longer decide anything)
22) In case of technical results for a game, both players must specify the castles they supposedly played with (otherwise, the organizer will do so)
23) If ODD is specified, a player who does not show up for the game within 1 hour from the specified start time is considered a no-show. After two no-shows for the game during the same match, they may receive a technical defeat.

***************************************************************************************************

ADDITIONAL RULES
24) A video recording of the match or a link to the recording (Twitch, YouTube, file sharing) must be provided no later than 3 days after the completion of the match - otherwise, a technical defeat may be recorded. All games must be streamed or recorded programmatically on your computer. You can also provide a screen demonstration to the host or tournament judges using Skype, TeamViewer, or other similar programs.
25) In case of disqualification or removal of a player from the tournament at the start of the tournament, a player replacement may occur. At later stages, technical results are recorded for all their games at that stage (e.g., group stage).
26) Reports (raports) on played games can be written in the tournament thread, via VK, or ICQ. It is sufficient to write who played whom and who won. A link to the video of the match can also be included in the report.
27) For insulting tournament players, judges, the sponsor, or the organizer, a warning is issued. After two warnings - disqualification from the tournament. To make a decision, a video, screenshot, text correspondence, or screen demonstration must be provided to the judges or the tournament organizer.
28) In case of a draw match in BO3, the player who first wins before or after this draw advances to the next round (if the draw match was played first). This is done to avoid prolonging the tournament (But if time permits, they may play the last game if they wish).

29) In the group stage, for players who have scored the same number of points, priority will be given to factors in the following order:
- Head-to-head encounter
- Berger coefficient
- A deciding match can be played (by agreement):
___a) Arena 5: /topic/at/713335/
___b) TC3: /topic/6096/
___c) Game on tournament templates - via their draw
___If both players want to play on different templates (maps), a coin is tossed.
___In case of refusal by one of the players to play an additional game, it is counted who spent fewer days in total on their winning and draw matches.

I would also participate and stream... What does "top players" mean? Something like a rating of 1700+? What are the criteria?

Yes, something like that. The sponsor is interested in having a much higher level of players in the tournament than in the previous one. But I think we can accommodate everyone. If there are too many players, we will use a cup format to avoid prolonging the tournament. If streamers can also play without music and comment on their actions, that would reduce the workload for me. Because I will have to edit all the matches from both sides, remove the music (as there will be problems with copyright on YouTube), and comment on the game for those who play with music or without their own commentary. In general, there will be a lot of work... The last tournament took several months of my time.

To ensure a high level of competition in the tournament, clear specifics and well-organized planning are essential. This includes the number of participants, templates, a timer, and prizes for specific placements, etc. Additionally, it would be beneficial to individually invite top players who also regularly stream to participate in such a tournament. Otherwise, the outcome will be similar to the first such tournament.

This includes the number of participants, templates, a timer, prizes for specific placements, etc. Additionally, it would be beneficial to individually invite top players who also regularly stream to participate in such a tournament. Otherwise, it will be like the first such tournament.

Regarding templates, after the registration period ends, each participant will suggest templates they want to play. The templates with the most votes will be used in the tournament. This is done to ensure that the templates are tailored to the preferences of the majority of registered players.

The rules and timer will be taken from the HW tournament portal, as we are primarily attracting players from that portal.

Regarding individual invitations, I am not against it. However, among streamers, some respond to messages (and this is the majority), while others simply ignore them (as was the case when I asked for permission to re-record matches). Also, I don't want to exclude other players who want to participate; it would become a closed tournament for a select few.

Regarding the prize distribution, this sponsor usually allocates funds for the first-place prize. But I will discuss the possibility of distributing prizes for 2nd or 3rd place if the participants are interested.

There must definitely be prizes for 2nd place, otherwise Cobra won't participate.

If you want to gather a good number of players and complete the tournament within a reasonable timeframe, a full double-elimination tournament with 16 players or a single-elimination tournament with 32 players would be ideal. Otherwise, it will likely turn into a tournament that lasts at least half a year. And to get people to sign up, you need to offer a ready-made tournament template, not just say, "We can do this, but who will participate?"

Regarding individual invitations – I’m not against it. But among the streamers, some respond to messages (and that’s most of them). And some simply ignore them (it was the same when I asked for permission to re-record matches). Also, I don’t want to disadvantage other people who want to play – it would turn into a closed tournament for a select few.

Regarding the prize distribution. This sponsor usually allocates money for the first place. But I will talk about distributing prizes for 2nd or 3rd place, if the participants are interested in that.
Either you create a show tournament with invitations (understanding exactly who you want to see in it, who can put on a good show, etc.) and clearly define the rules, or a random crowd will show up, and the tournament will turn into a season with vague deadlines and uninteresting games.

Ready to play in a single or double-elimination tournament – either format is fine.

Regarding the tournament – based on the theme, the most optimal option seems to be the one used, for example, in Dota 2:
Invite 8 popular streamers (direct invite),
The rest – all willing participants – go through qualifications until 8 more players remain. Qualifications do not require mandatory streaming.

I'm ready to play in a single or double elimination tournament – it doesn't matter.

Regarding the tournament – based on the theme, the most optimal option seems to be the one used, for example, in Dota 2:
invite 8 popular streamers (direct invite),
the rest – all those who want to participate – go through qualifications until 8 more players remain. Qualifications without mandatory streaming.

However, the qualifications might take a long time, because Dota 2 uses a qualification system where "everyone plays everyone" in several groups, and then there's also a double elimination. In this situation, it means that the qualifications will last longer than the main tournament (about three times longer).

Added 15 minutes later
In my opinion, it would be easier and faster for the tournament organizer to limit themselves to direct invites, as, for example, twaryna did in the Show Tournament for HoTA.
And yes, I recommend creating a regulation for templates, rules, etc., right away, rather than in the style of "everyone does as they want, and we'll agree later." After all, it's up to you to decide what kind of tournament you want, at least in terms of the duration – fast (M200) / medium (L+U / JC) / long (XL+U) / mixed. And I would recommend using the most popular and proven templates from each category (I think everyone knows them).
It's better to create the rules first and then make changes if there is general dissatisfaction, rather than inviting people to participate in something they don't understand...

I would gladly organize a quick cup-style tournament. However, the sponsor envisions the tournament differently. I will try to discuss the cup format with him. After discussing it with the sponsor, we clarified some more details regarding the tournament. I have updated all the changes in the tournament header. In the near future, we will finalize all aspects of the tournament, and then we will look at the results.
