When did they start teaching this? After the Perestroika :) I specifically took a math reference book (for engineers and university students) from 1981. It says that there are two rounding rules: 1. Rounding down 0.4444444444444445 -> 0 2. Rounding up 0.4444444444444445 -> 1 3. Sometimes they use an additional rule to decide whether to round up or down.
Yes, they started teaching this after the Perestroika :) In fact, I have never heard of rounding up. All the rounding cases I have seen were rounding down (they taught to round down, browsers (JavaScript) round down, Delphi, as it turns out, also rounds down). Thank you, I will keep that in mind.

Well, yes, that's how I rounded it...

That's also true, but it's according to the rounding up rules.
Well, if it's correct, please forgive me. I thought it was incorrect rounding down.

So, if I understand you correctly, can you dig up the same hero with different MP? For example, Dess with a "non-existent orc" and without it?
If this is the case, please provide 2 such saves, because this is special news for me!
I will only believe it when I see it myself :) Theory is theory, but you can't argue with practice.
Don't forget about the P.I.R.;)
Here, but this is one map, replayed several times.
The archive contains 2 saves with Dess in the tavern and the map itself.
Dess has the same army in both saves (1 goblin)
I've been mastering this and... I came up with a way. We hire... not necessarily Dessa. Anyone, for example a Barbarian (with one goblin) without logistics. They should run at the same speed, right? Right. But here it turns out differently... Anyway, see for yourself. A save of a map where Crag Hack and Bogarus are starting in two cities, each with one goblin. Now try to move both downwards. In the end, we have Crag who moved one cell further....
And overall, it was easy to check on the Conflux... Lacus and Calt always have water elementals with them. Try placing two Confluxes parallel to each other, with Calt (Lacus) in one and Aenain, Pasis, Grindan or similar in the other, and try running them parallel. ;)
I tinkered around and came up with a method. We hire... it doesn't necessarily have to be Dess. Any hero, for example, a Barbarian (with one Goblin) without logistics. They should move at the same speed, right? Right. But here it turns out differently... In short, see for yourself. Save a map where Crag Hack and Bogarus start in two cities, each with one Goblin. Now try to move both of them downwards. As a result, you'll have Crag, who moves one cell further....
Here's a question: Were the heroes already hired with one Goblin? Did they move before this? It's better to save the game when the heroes haven
Here, but it's just one map, restarted several times. The archive contains 2 saves with Dessa in the tavern and the map itself. Dessa's army is the same in both saves (1 goblin).
We are considering the situation that occurred during the tournament, so restarting the map is a violation of the rules! And it's still interesting, isn't it? Nevertheless, we need to consider 1 save in which the same hero walks the same route, with different digging results (when digging up a hero with a different distance repeatedly, we need to make 2 saves)!
Why consider a specific case? After all, the rules are the same for all heroes. If heroes of the same race with the same (visually) army move at different speeds, then this is direct proof that this fact (the pseudo-army has been removed, but the calculation of the movement range for the first day has not been changed) is indeed happening. There is no need to complicate things!!!

Here's a question: Were the heroes hired with one goblin already? Did they move before that? It's better to save when the heroes haven't been hired yet (in case someone already made a move before that save, and that's why they are lagging behind!).
Yes, the heroes are hired with one goblin, they haven't moved anywhere. You can restart the scenario and try to buy different Barbarians in the lower row of cities (meaning with one goblin), and then run them down, and, lo and behold - some of them will lag behind the others.
Now I am 100% sure that this hypothesis is correct!!! (practice :smile54:)
Okay, I've written the description, so I can send the save file:smile03:.

On the contrary, I'm trying to start with the simple and then move on to the complex.;) And I still find it amusing that I noticed this quirk, which, judging by everything, will ultimately turn out to be a feature, or at worst, a BUG!:smile51: Kamikaze;90948
Now I am 100% sure that this hypothesis is correct!!! (based on practice :smile54:)
I am also sure that this observation has not been described anywhere before, and even more so, no exact data has been provided for the same hero. If someone were to create such a reference book with different data on heroes' starting speed:o, it would be invaluable. Maybe you, Kamikaze, could take on this task?
P.S. This entire dialogue will soon be moved to the topic:

It's not clear! What kind of bug is it, rather, it's a hindrance, albeit a small one.

I would gladly do it, but it's not very clear what the result will be. Although I'll try, and then we'll see.
Here's the thing... Dessa (15 goblins and 6 wolves)...goblins - 5, wolves - 6. 5=1630mp, 6=1700mp. Then logistics + ability = additional 10.5% The minimum unit speed is 1630mp. We add 10.5% and get 1801.15 = 1801. But in reality, it's 1723, which is 1560*1.105, where 1560 is the speed of an orc  who isn't even there:eek: ....and Gird, who has orcs, moves at 1630, can you believe it!

I have a similar story... It seems there's a "non-existent army," and the first turn is calculated based on it. But when you hire a hero, this army is removed and a new one is added. I don't have any other assumptions yet.
You all keep surprising me! There was a hypothesis before, but I couldn't bring myself to believe in my own "preconceptions," and now I'm not quite sure what to believe.
to Kamikaze: did you send the save file from the first stage or not?

Here is this invaluable person:)
I fixed the errors on the reference book page and added the maximum starting speed for the heroes. (Forgive me, AmberSoler:) )
While making corrections to the reference book, I noticed that the Logistics specialization adds 5% to the Logistics skill, meaning that at the basic Logistics level, the hero's MP will increase by 10% + 5% = 15%!!! I checked this on Gunnar (and then on Dessa and Kir'ra). His initial speed without Logistics is 1560, with Logistics and specialization it is 1794 (1560+15%).
Hmm... this is how it is calculated if you choose the hero in the settings. However, if you hire him in the tavern, the Logistics bonus is only 10.5%
And this is the case for all heroes! A chosen hero receives +5% to movement, while a hired hero receives +5% to the Logistics skill on the first turn, and then +5% to movement
You are all surprising! There was a hypothesis before, but I couldn't quite believe in my own "prejudices," and now I'm not quite sure.
to Kamikaze: did you send the save from the first stage or not?
We have already proven that the "non-existent" warriors exist. Now we need to prove that they are not related to the actual army of heroes in any way. ------------------------------------------- And here is the proof (with a map reload): The archive contains 4 saves: in one, Dessa with an orc reaches point X in
to Kamikaze: Did you send the save file from the first stage or not?
Yes, of course, I sent it.

I disagree, I also checked and the speeds were: - Dessa: 1801, 1723 - Gunnar: 1723 - Kir'ye: 1657, 1878
From this table, it is clear that the fastest hero on the first day is Moner (1936mp). Next: Kirr (without dwarves) - 1878 Dessa (without orcs) - 1801 Pyra (without golems) - 1793 Tyraxor, Lorelei, and Piguegram (always) - 1760 Any hero from Conflux (without water elements) - 1760 Gunnar (in any case)
But, in simple terms?? :) However, let's not answer, or they'll twist our heads off :) Although, I've already racked my brains over this task :) This is a much more interesting task than the one in the first stage. I like it.
I won't =) But today, I found a new solution with gold :) Now it's better. I also have another solution in reserve, but I need time to test it. I think I'll be able to do it by the 23rd. I hope it works out...
