"Random Jebus"

Today's agenda is another tournament with a prize pool; this time, even the conspirators who show nothing can join :smile09:(however, I may filter out players based on my subjective view), and we will be playing Jebus Cross full random!

I. Registration, regulations, and deadlines.

1. The tournament will be conducted using a Single Elimination bo1 system, final bo3
2. Tournament start: 26 July 2015.
3. Registration until 25 July inclusive. Applications for participation are left in this thread
4. Time for each round is 2 weeks.
5. A prize pool is provided for the tournament, with a starting value of 10 thousand rubles (Thanks to regular viewer and beginner player warzealot123 for this), since it's a single system, 3rd-4th place have equal significance, so the distribution will be 1st place - 50%, 2nd place - 30%, 3rd-4th places 10% each. (The commission for transfer to the required platform for the winner is deducted from the prize)

II. Rules and templates.

1. By default, games are played according to seasonal rules. Version for play SoD 3.2 (4.0) +HD-mod with the HW-Rules patch connected, version 1.34; tents, forts, and cartographers - checked; built second level and obelisks - disabled.
2. Game templates: The one and the Only Jebuss cross
3. Choice of castles is random, castle random for each restart is done via the "random towns" button in HW rulz, because Conflux and Necropolis are not generated randomly on standard Jebus, and they are very much needed for a complete picture. Accordingly, whoever plays red on the restart will be the first of the generated cities. (Starting color by coin toss, color change at each subjective restart), HEROES RANDOM!, bonus can be chosen. By mutual agreement to your taste (blackout, choice, etc.)
4. Total number of restarts (113), i.e., 111+111+111,111+112,113
5. Game timer - chess 24+8.30+1.30
6. Roads - fast only

III. Organizational issues.

1. The tournament is conducted according to the Rules for organization, conduct, and participation in HOMM3 online tournaments
2. Tournament host and judge - HellLighT, ICQ - 649566490.
3. The organizer reserves the right to refuse tournament participation to a user without public explanation of reasons.
4. For each played game, participants must submit a report and confirmation.
5. Saves of all games must be kept until the end of the tournament and presented upon first request of the tournament host or judge.
6. The judicial decision is made primarily based on the tournament rules. If a situation arises that is not regulated by the rules, judges are guided by basic logic and gaming ethics.

IV. Transfer details.

For everyone who wants to support the tournament (prize pool) not with words, but with ringing coin, I leave the transfer details (please specify hmm3 in the transfer comment if possible).

A very tough layout with a road going in a circle and a bunch of blocks. If it weren't for the Moon, it would have been an obvious restart. Thanks to it, I broke through and saw a Griffin Conservatory and a couple of Dragon Fly Hives. Then I found 2 more Conservatories, collected an elixir on the respawn, and spent a long time eating the treasure zone. Luckily, my opponent wasn't in a hurry to get into it. The treasure zone turned out to be large and poor — both on the ground and in the Dragon Utopias, they gave nothing but junk. But my opponent's situation was even worse. In the final battle, I had a solid advantage in troops and magic. Thanks for the game.

A very tough layout with a road running in a loop and lots of blockages. If it weren't for the moon (Luna), it would have been an obvious restart. Thanks to her, I broke through and saw a Griffin Conservatory and a couple of Dragon Fly Hives. Then I found 2 more Griffin Conservatories, collected elixirs at the respawn, and feasted on the treasure zone for a long time. Luckily, my opponent wasn't in a hurry to go there. The treasure zone turned out to be large and poor — both on the surface and in the Dragon Utopias, it gave nothing but junk. But my opponent had it even worse. In the final battle (FB), I had a solid advantage in creatures and magic. Thanks for the game.

I started okay, but then I made some mistakes. The roads were long; I couldn't break out early, and by then it was already too late.
Thanks for the game.

The opponent chose all the rests; I had one left and we set off. On the first day, I scouted three external dwellings of chickens and 4 Hives near the road; of the artifacts, only the handcuffs were useful. There were too few money objects, so the angels barely reached 115; on 116, I used my father to enter the first relic—max  I took almost my own power, except for 9 wolf cubs from the second one, and came out with one angel, a spent timer, and 15 spears; then I picked up two more Hives and the first external dwelling, and on 117, I placed the Castle and used the fool to take the second.
There were no Pandoras for exp, so I took three experience chests with Tiraxor, leveled basic logic, air, and passfight. On 121, I broke through 23 sunders using Pandora (all of the 4th or 5th, doesn't matter) and crashed home to refill mana. On 122, I burst into the center through a hundred cyclops; there was a severe shortage of ones, so I fought through with angels, ducks, and skeletons. In the first round, one stack of angels got demoralized and took a beating from the second at -2; that's where the significant losses ended. Then I lit up the central Castle and barely reached it. I traded for the hero and scouted a bit, revealing a bunch of Pandoras, two Hives, and a cloak +2 speed behind a hundred cows.
On 123, I ran to get that most important artifact and in the end, running further along the path, I was short by a hundred moves to break through the giants for the prison and the fifth hat. On her turn, the nun runs out with a poker face, breaks the giants, and steals the cap :( She DDs somewhere down, near the second central Castle.
On 124, I picked up relics and ate three Pandoras, then crashed into my own central Castle; while idling with spoons—I didn't place the Mage Guild, fortunately there was about 22 mana left, and for some reason, I dragged the fool from the chain to pick up handcuffs from resp.
On 125, via the prison, I steal the opponent's second central city and crash Tiraxor there; it' same impossible to get the handcuffs, so I visit the library and attack. In FB, there was an advantage in speed and meat; with mass haste, I jumped in and slaughtered almost all the power, leaving 2 ducks and about 60 hobgoblins; in response comes an AOTD and then an angel is cut down by a own arrow, next turn—buyout.
Then I went to the neighboring grass, found a Dragon Utopia with КВ, quads, and a shield +12, then picked up another one at home with a gladius, 2all, and a captain's hat, luckily Reddy was already in the chat :) Then the opponent steals back the swamp and goes to break through to the lava; there is practically no power there, and after breaking the monsters, he stays put; I re-crash Tiraxor and kill him in the first round.
Thanks for the game!

First 2 generations were hopeless, then came Shakti with red vs necro. I had the option to play but decided to take res after taking some loses and having one road blocked.

Then I had to play and got blue stronghold vs Castle. Map was very bad. No behemoth dwell, no tradepost, very poor, 1 con for 1 angel and 2 hives for 12 wyvs. But at least I had all 4 parts of AOTD and boots of speed. Without it I wouldnt have been able to beat my block. Went out at 123 with full movement and took some stupid loses vs BKs. stole blue hat right infront of opponent, but timer was low, so didnt make perfect move after this. At least I got out of reach with DD. Next day I took middle town and moved towards new area, but opponent could reach the town with scout and kill most of my army with main before I could surrender. I played on, hoping to get to new area, but I didnt manage and was caught again. TFP.

Sorry, Dan, but I must say a few words. It was a rare case when I was watching all the main aspects of the game from both sides. I think it's not intelligent to write "opponent did something" in this case. It may have been the best micro-play by Maretti that I've ever seen, but the map was unfavorable for him. Great thanks for the game to both anyway.

There were 2 resurrections left, Tokha had 1. He threatened to play Ufretin, and I really wanted to take the resurrection, but I revealed a box with 20+ nomads, two external dwellings of rogues, and boots of non-conductivity behind zombies.
Alkin leveled up well — Earth magic, Logistics, Tactics. On the first day, he scouted 5 external dwellings of rogues and took 4. On day 115, he took the second level of the Griffin Conservatory with a loh, losing 2 horses and 4 ducks + a feeder. Then he captured a +6 shield and went for a Pandora's Box guarded by a lot of LOTS of wood — empty, then a Naga Bank and a dungeon split for double mana.
On day 121, he moved to the center through 50+ cats, a bit further he killed almost as many for a prison with a level 30 mage (Logistics, Defense, Fire magic). Then he broke through a Pandora's Box with 17 Monarchs, stood in front of it, and scouted +5 all stats with a second hero for gold.
On day 122, he brought a feeder from home, took +5 all stats, then Alkin took another +2 all stats, again for gold, and in the last seconds, he broke through Giants with Grand Elves for a green external dwelling, +2 speed, and 3/3 base Luck. On his turn, Grecha arrives and attacks.
My combat stats are slightly higher and I have a speed advantage, he has 5 mana and with my Pegasus = 0. In the first round, I charged into the Grands, but made a small mistake — I should have cast Haste on the rogues and shaved off almost all of them, but I cast Shield and a mess ensued. In the process of the battle, the opponent blinded my single stacks of rogues almost every round, plus my morale and luck didn't proc. But the advantage in mana and fodder ultimately took over; Grecha bought back on one Grand.
On day 123, I brought Grands from home, bought a feeder in the central ramp, and went to take Dragon Fly Hives; nothing else caught my eye without mana. Jozey stood in front of the opponent's spawn exit on two Pegasi; an enemy mage arrived but didn't kill him, then Grecha arrived and stood in front of her with a bunch of junk.
On day 124, I took a Green from an external dwelling, gave it to Jozey, and attacked; there was a Wave of Death for fifty, and Antokha capitulates.
Thanks for the game!

I confirm, my gut feeling said that Den was hesitating and decided not to take the last rest despite a rather sparse respawn. What was scouted were 2 Dragon Fly Hives and a Pandora's Box, that's basically it. Later I found 2 external dwellings of rocs, a kettle, and 2 Griffin Conservatories, but everything was very far apart, and the external dwellings had insane guards, but it's acceptable overall. In the end, with minor mistakes, I played it out successfully and reached 122 with 54 Grand Elves, 4 Angels, 9 Wyverns, and a magic-less power stack, with insignificant losses. In the treasure zone, Alkin was already waiting; a favorable setup wasn't enough. If Alkin hadn't had double mana, I could have tried to negotiate, but as it was, there was indeed some firepower in F[B], but there was nothing to break through with... A good draft, well played. Den, well done. Good luck further.

The opponent chose three restarts; in the end, it was Tazar vs Voy. He had a poor start but immediately revealed two clues and the Dragon Utopia under the Castle.

I marked the basilisks' external dwelling, took two mini-hives, waited for the hydra, and broke through a block of 60 pegasi, which gave 15000 gold. However, it was enough for everything.
Only 6 hives were found, but in the end, they all turned out to be minimums; I collected them by the end of the week, along with 2 cons and hydras in the castle. Money ran out, and I was somewhat stingy with trades; I went into the Dragon Utopia on turn 121, where they gave a gladius and КВ, and a +4+4 hat. They ate the hydra and angels. I revealed Aenain, who had entered successfully with exp. air and 50 mana, took the maxi-con, and upgraded the ducks.

On turn 122, I rebuilt into dungeon for double mana, and on turn 123, I slowly moved to the center. I collected what was lying there, and further on was a block of 5-9 fairies. I jump from the road into the revealed Dragon Utopia; there they give +7 all without any problems now, only КЗ is missing.

On turn 124, I return to the road, taking the box with 4 x hydras, and jump straight to the cyclops, who give 12 monarchs. On turn 125 we meet; there is even less there.

Random is so random. Thanks for the game.

I didn't perform well on the restarts; I wasted two of them due to blocked roads, and the last one had a bad setup. I got a blue tower on the red citadel, where my opponent dug up Craig on the first day.
My respawn can be described with one screenshot.
The GO is very inconvenient for the tower; the only road leading into it is blocked by 14 Monarchs. On turn 115, using an external dwelling of Nagas, I attack the Monarchs; the road leads to a corner of the map towards a dungeon village, and the second village is located further left with a separate road to the GO. On turn 117, I spent the night near 10+ Efreet, hoping for 10k experience, but they gave me the entire land (Nelka without Wisdom:( ). Later, on turn 121, I set up an outpost – saw a Gladius slightly further away and decided to get there; on turn 124, in a rush, I attack the GO across rough terrain without mass magic, defeating 4 Titans, a Hive, and a Consul.
On turn 125, I acquire a tier-3 Consul and a small Hive stealthily; with my main hero, I head towards the central city and grab a tier-4 Shield and a tier-8 Hive.
On turn 126, my opponent occupied the central Inferno, thankfully not with Craig. I take back the city, and luckily, he placed a tavern there during his turn, so I took a big risk going after this city. I defeated Nelka in the dungeon village, and Alkyn grabbed a small Hive and started gathering under 15 Gold Dragons – GO towards my second village.
On turn 127, I had to attack because even though I drove off my opponent's scout, he managed to reach the central Inferno with Craig.
On turn 13+, I had to fight my way to the Inferno respawn point through rough terrain; my opponent was clearing out the center and got Wings, plus his stats were more than 10 higher. In 5 turns at the Inferno respawn, there were a couple of Hives; there was a box behind Cruisers, which I decided to take with Alkyn – but it contained magic (after the game, I checked – the entire land). I didn't find anything decisive at the Inferno respawn, and since my opponent finally gained control, I no longer had much time left.
Thank you for the game.

I decided that restarting against a citadel with Craig wasn't worth it). On week 1, I didn't do much; I gathered money for Gray Wolves, and there weren't any good external dwellings. Then I assembled 4 decently spaced Consuls into 13!! Angels; there was also a small outpost behind Snipers, and one Dragon Utopia. I only managed to get out on turn 125. Most likely, I could have reached my opponent on turn 126, but I was afraid of magic; having a clear advantage in troops, it would have been frustrating, although I had about 10 spell power or so. Later, he went down, and I almost immediately found Wings and КВ. What can I say? The luck was definitely on my side; thank you for the game.
