"The Will to Live." A great film, based on Shukshin's work. The main role was played by the wonderful Russian actor Sergei Nikonenko. It's not just about him playing bank directors and FSB generals in TV series; this might be his best role. You can relax and enjoy the film. 9 out of 10. "Battle for Sevastopol." Everything is good, a strong script, action scenes, and acting. The only thing that slightly disappointed me was the main actress; I know an actress in my own city who could play such a strong role even better. 8 out of 10. "Fast & Furious 7." They're all made of titanium, hitting each other in the face with crowbars for a long time, and after 30 seconds, they're all smiling with Hollywood smiles, yeah. 7 out of 10. But the ending was a beautiful tribute to Paul Walker. "The Avengers." "The synchronophasotron won't start, what should we do???" "Start the main hyperlaser, Hulk, hit it so it works faster!!!" And that's the whole film, you get tired by the end. 5 out of 10.

I decided to write about the movies I watched over the past six months (or more?). It turned out to be quite a few...

Der Gehetzte der Sierra Madre. 9.1/10
Excellent. I really enjoyed this western.

Sabrina. 9.7/10

A wonderful, kind, and fun movie that you watch in one breath!

I watched Drive. A very stylish movie, and it also has a subtext. Not everyone will understand it. 10/10
I would recommend it to Nebka, but he has probably already seen it.
You should definitely watch it then.

8.5/10
A good movie. I would say that I liked it. I don't know what subtext Siver was talking about. Apparently, I didn't understand it.

Brokeback Mountain. 8.4/10
A quote for another movie. But I think it fits perfectly with this one.

A powerful film. It doesn't create any repulsive impression, and you don't even think that something is wrong. It's just... love.

I watched it by chance. Well, I don't know...
Jack Reacher. 7.0/10

Lars and the Real Girl. 7.3/10
A funny movie. I laughed a little.

I don't know...

7.0/10

Understood.

That’s how it was rated on IMDb! I trust them!

I watched "The Avengers". 5/10, a typical movie of this genre. It doesn't cause disgust or dislike, but it doesn't evoke positive emotions or special pleasure from watching either.

I really enjoyed the movie "Game of Survival" with Michael Douglas, and now I'm looking forward to the premiere of the detective film "Paper Towns".

"Battle for Sevastopol"
I didn't watch the whole thing, but you know what? It was the best thing I've seen, even though I didn't see the whole thing. From beginning to end, in the scenes I did see, it leaves you with a feeling of "What? What? What is this, Barrymore?!" I won't go into details, but... 2/10
"Only Old Men Go to Battle"
I'm a little ashamed that I didn't watch this movie earlier. Honestly, it's just magnificent. A simple, bright, and genuine atmosphere. Incredibly touching moments that touch your soul not with blood, not with a dark picture, or with crude emotions, but with something much more subtle... The absolute opposite of the previous film in all aspects, although it seems that the theme is the same.
And yes, I watched the colorized version. It's colorized quite nicely.
9/10

"The Equalizer" – "THE EQUALIZER" (2014, USA). This action movie is so typical... I just don't know what words to use to describe it. However, compared to the latest "Expendables" film, it's almost a masterpiece. What's truly unusual about it is how Mr. Denzel kills his enemies; in the film, he hardly uses firearms, and perhaps other types of weapons either. Mostly, he uses household appliances. As for the rest... it's extremely stereotypical. But I would say, if you have absolutely nothing else to do, it's worth watching /10.

Watched all the "Mad Max" movies. The first one is a decent classic film with a classic plot. The film's idea is quite simple, but it's well-made. Worth watching, 7/10. The second film is more like a real action movie. And the protagonist's image has changed accordingly. Mel Gibson gets tougher, Mel Gibson gets cooler, Mel Gibson drives cool cars and runs over villains who all look like terrible creeps. Perhaps the director wanted to show that all creeps are villains. Well, that's a good point of view, okay. Compared to the first part, this film has less plot but more action. But it turned out quite well. 9/10. The third film. Awful. The beginning is still somewhat decent, but it's still awful. Don't watch it. 1/10. The fourth one. I watched this film in a movie theater, like a civilized person. Maybe that's why it seemed better to me than it is. The film has almost no plot. Mel Gibson is completely absent. But there are: 1) The main villain with gray hair, plastic cubes on his belly, and a funny talking mask. He also wears a skirt. Can you imagine what kind of dominant aura and charisma this character exudes? 2) Lots and lots of explosions, cool cars, shootouts, trash, and fun. A dream for a twelve-year-old pimply virgin. I'm not twelve anymore, but even I liked it all. 3) Crazy music by Two Steps From Hell (well, it seemed like it). 4) An atmosphere of unrestrained fun and joy and the traditional happy ending for all "Max" movies. You won't see anything like this anywhere else. It's an absolutely crazy film, albeit not very meaningful, but very beautiful and spectacular. Watch it, and if you don't like it, then you don't like it. 8/10

"Gattaca" -- Gattaca (1997). I liked the movie; it's quite positive. In terms of style, it reminded me of "Forrest Gump," which already sets the film apart from all those generic Hollywood action movies. 8/10

Watched Mad Max: Fury Road. Alex was right, Darth Vader as the main villain is just… no comment. Overall, I was satisfied, although I still don't fully understand what it was all about. **6/10.**

Watched "Catherine and Her Wild Stallions." Cool movie. The girls aren't very attractive, Catherine is just okay, but there's a lot of violence. Also, it's an old movie, but still better than the garbage they're making now. 8 out of 10.

I haven't been to the movies in about a year and a half, and if you don't count occasional outings with classmates, it's been several years. I haven't watched cartoons for longer than I care to remember, but I think 7-8 years is a close estimate. I didn't do it not because of some kind of snobbery or anything, but simply because I naturally assumed that during my time away from cartoons, they had turned into mindless entertainment for children and immature fools. still, it seems it was snobbery after all The wonderful Pixar studio was bought by Disney, which means they probably also started churning out generic, low-quality stuff like the Madagascar movies. But today, to avoid upsetting my dear mother and sister, I went with them to see the cartoon Inside Out, intending to take a good nap. My skepticism lasted about a minute or two before I told myself, "That's an interesting idea, I wonder how they'll develop it." My grumpiness lasted about 10-15 minutes, I can't say for sure, and then I was laughing along with everyone else in the theater. In general, I've talked more about myself than about the cartoon, but it's hard to say anything specific about it. Everything is there – an original idea, a simple but pleasant plot, lots of jokes, a little sadness (SADNESS), pleasant music, and as a result, it's all interesting and enjoyable to watch together. They even included at least one reference to a famous neo-noir film from the 70s, which surprised me and therefore made me happy. In general, I got a lot of pleasure from watching it, and I wish the same for you. 8.5/10 (I took the rating from Kinopoisk)

Oh, I also went to see The Puzzle. So, the cartoon is really amazing, I recommend it to everyone, I agree with Siver. And although the idea itself is not new, its implementation was at the highest level. Of course, in my opinion, it was a bit too long, but nevertheless, I was satisfied with the viewing. 9/10

I also watched the new Mad Max. To be honest, I didn't like the second or third installments when I first saw them. While the first one interestingly depicted a decaying modern civilization, with its characters and plot, and was generally done in an old-school, charming style, the other two were absolutely meaningless and bland road trips through an open desert, with a pretense of being a cool action movie (it's strange how society degraded in 5-10 years between the first and second, from a state of anarchy to a post-apocalyptic sci-fi desert planet filled with trash, and almost completely dehumanized savages, degenerates, and cars made from scrap). I was very surprised that they are considered cult classics. The new one is noticeably better in this regard, because it's filmed in a modern style, and even the people, despite the overall cliché of what's happening, don't seem like mindless puppets, as they did before.
7/10 action movie, even this lip-curled actor, whom I don't like, was watchable.
