I also watched the new Mad Max. To be honest, I didn't like the second or third installments when I first saw them. While the first one interestingly depicted a decaying modern civilization, with its characters and plot, and was generally done in an old-school, charming style, the other two were absolutely meaningless and bland road trips through an open desert, with a pretense of being a cool action movie (it's strange how society degraded in 5-10 years between the first and second, from a state of anarchy to a post-apocalyptic sci-fi desert planet filled with trash, and almost completely dehumanized savages, degenerates, and cars made from scrap). I was very surprised that they are considered cult classics. The new one is noticeably better in this regard, because it's filmed in a modern style, and even the people, despite the overall cliché of what's happening, don't seem like mindless puppets, as they did before.
7/10 action movie, even this lip-curled actor, whom I don't like, was watchable.
