Posts from regarding the collection of skeletons in "Mr. Skelet Revenge".
P.S. I think point 6 of the tournament rules doesn't apply to this tournament and was included here by mistake...
P.P.S. It was carried over from the previous tournament out of habit... I didn't filter it out right away, but since it doesn't cause any harm, I decided not to remove it.

I would like to express my gratitude to Alan for organizing the tournament and to Kyle for creating an interesting map with a smiling, furry creature with spiky hair in the Dungeon!
It's unlikely that the tournament organizers will allow this. In this case, we might not receive saves from many participants at all. Or everyone will send their saves on the very last day.
Why do you think so??? Hmm... the fact that a save is sent earlier or later doesn't change anything... Let's say a person sees in the table that someone already has a preliminary first place... but they don't know how many skeletons that person has. So, that person (who looked at the preliminary results) sending their save, no matter when (immediately or at the end of the tournament), if they have more skeletons, they will take that first place, and if not, they won't. I don't see any connection between the time of sending the save and
Why did you come to that conclusion??? Hmm... the fact that the save is submitted earlier or later doesn't change anything... Let's say a person sees in the table that someone already has a preliminary first place... but they don't know how many skeletons that person has. So, that person (who saw the preliminary results) sends their save, it doesn't matter when (immediately or at the end of the tournament). If they have more skeletons, they will take that first place, and if not, they won't. I don't see any connection between the time the save is sent and the preliminary result.
The logic of the reasoning is simple: someone sends their save first. They look and see they are in 1st place :) And then gradually 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th... last. Well, who would want to be in that position, and yet no one is immune. So, everyone will think, "I'd better send it on the last day, and whatever happens, happens." Personally, I'm not against the option you're suggesting. Try to convince the organizers, maybe it will work.
Well, personally, I'm not against the option you're suggesting – try to convince the organizers, maybe it will work.
But I don't see these organizers anywhere... at least they haven't reacted to this in any way... they're just silent... I've made the suggestion, but there's no response whatsoever.
Well, we're running around here... just completely swamped... It's not easy to convince me of this proposal... It requires spending extra time, not just downloading the save, but immediately checking it and editing the thread... Also, there are recognized strong players (say, not just in Skeletons, but in 3 in general), and if one of them sends their save earlier and everyone sees they're in first place, many will simply say, "it's already clear here, I'm not going to waste my time." Consequently, the number of final saves decreases. Again, right now I can check saves in batches of 4-6, but if 20+ saves come in on the last day... people are already unhappy that the results take three days (by the way, I liked IronAxe's idea of a quick draft version of the results, without a table, etc. Just to inform people, and then the formatting later). In short, IN THIS tournament, K0Lb@zzeR's proposal is rejected by me... For other tournaments, negotiate with the organizers and preferably at least a couple of days before the tournament starts, or at least in the first few days.

This requires spending extra time, not just downloading the save, but immediately checking it and editing the topic...
It will take no more than 10 minutes to fix the topic... even if there are 50 participants... and that's assuming that the 50th participant sent their save last... which means that 49 results will already be entered in the table (only the numbers need to be changed) + 1 more to add. Alan;77416
Then there are recognized strong players (let's say, not just in skeletons, but in general for the 3rd game) and if one of them sends their save early and everyone sees that they are in first place, then many will simply say that "it's already clear, I won't waste my time." Accordingly, the number of final saves decreases.
I can argue with that... If there are such people, then why participate in the Tournament at all if, seeing a favorite on the horizon, you give up... what's the point of participating if you don't want to improve your result, then it's better not to participate at all. You need to strive for something (to the leader)... and if you don't do that, then I don't see any point in these Tournaments. And if you strive, then you can achieve good results. I don't know about others... but I always strive for the best and try to get closer to the favorite, if there is one. Alan;77416
Again, now I can check saves in batches of 4-6, but if I receive 20+ saves on the last day...
Are you all in cahoots??? Why do you think that everyone will start sending saves on the last day... I can't understand this... it won't change anything, no matter when the save is sent (if you just hold it until the last moment). Holding the save won't make your results any better.
I still suggest holding at least one Tournament with preliminary results, as I propose... and then you can see what happens.

Finished the Walkthrough. Tomorrow, if I have time, I will check everything and send the final save. Well, hold on, rivals!!!:)
What's there to hold on to... I'm participating in the 3rd game Tournament for the first time... although I play Heroes quite well.
Let's get back to the burning issue... I would like to see, after the organizers accept Dmitry_A_S's save, what my result is in relation to Dmitry_A_S (at least in the preliminary results), and then I would draw conclusions about who I need to strive for.
Let's get back to the pressing issue... I would like to see, after the organizers accept Dmitry_A_S's save, what my result is in relation to Dmitry_A_S (at least based on the preliminary results), and then I could draw conclusions about who I should strive to emulate.
Well... and... that's it... after that, all the intrigue would disappear... Let's say Dmitry_A_S's result is higher than yours: you see that you lost, and that's it... there's nothing more you can do, because only one save from a player is accepted in the tournament... I hope I explained it clearly.
Sincerely.

I sent the final save file and, with a bit of patience, will await the results. I wish everyone who participated the best of luck in completing the tournament!

If Dmitry_A_S's result is higher than mine... then what difference does it make when I find out... either before the save submission period ends, or after... I still won't be able to do anything. As for the intrigue... it doesn't disappear; on the contrary, it can be enhanced (if desired). I'll explain why: for example, I look at the preliminary results and see that Dmitry_A_S has a higher result (preliminary ranking), and let's say it's 4 points higher. Therefore, I think he collected N skeletons, and I collected M skeletons. Then, seeing these results, purely out of sporting interest, I replay the map and collect K skeletons. After finishing, I eagerly await the exact number of skeletons that Dmitry_A_S collected (let's say it's A skeletons)... and then I compare K and A and determine how close I was able to get to Dmitry_A_S's result. And from there, conclusions can be drawn. This is how the intrigue of the competition between players can develop during the tournament.

But at the same time, if a player significantly improves their strategy, they will want to submit their new save instead of the first one... since there have already been such precedents on our portal, conflicts may arise, such as: "But you accepted his second save, why won't you accept mine?" - and we don't need such conflicts... we have enough of our own. ;) Regarding improving one's result out of interest, this can be done even after the tournament ends... if there's a desire... K0Lb@zzeR;76335
I would like to suggest that you add preliminary tournament results to the registration table (in the last column after the nickname), i.e., the current ranking of the person who submitted the save. And that you update these results as saves are received...
The idea itself is interesting in principle, but only if you can submit an unlimited number of saves... but if you introduce this rule, you can imagine how much the workload on the host will increase... I don't think any host would agree to that...
Sincerely.

Yes, but at the same time, after significantly improving their Walkthrough, a player might want to send their save instead of the first one... since there have already been such instances on our portal, conflicts might arise, such as: "But you accepted the second save from that player, and you don't want to accept mine..." - and we don't need such conflicts... we have enough of our own. ;) Regarding improving their result out of curiosity, this can be done even after the tournament ends... if they want to...
... This is where they're discussing me! I've been hiccuping for half an hour now. I assume that K0Lb@zzeR is also pursuing this idea: The thing is, it's not always possible to determine the "minimum" for a map right away, or at all (the optimal Walkthrough). And judging by what K0Lb@zzeR is suggesting, it means, for example, that he sent a save yesterday, and in the preliminary ranking, he's in first place (among all those who submitted). Today, a couple more people sent their saves, and among them, for example, Dmitry_A_S, and here are two options: a) If K0Lb@zzeR remains in first place, he doesn't need to worry. b) If Dmitry_A_S moves into first place, K0Lb@zzeR might start thinking about whether to replay and resend his save.
Problems arise: 1)Kyle;77648

2) You can use these attempts to calculate the results of your opponents.
P.S. I don't understand the point of purely sporting interest (unless you keep the result to yourself). :smile17:
