Posts from A THREAD FOR NEWCOMERS!

Please tell me which version of the game I should download so that it has:
1. No ninth castle (Conflux)
2. No level 8 creatures and all the WOG (WoGification) additions
3. No Armageddon's Blade artifact
4. Has composite artifacts (Titan's Thunder, Alliance of Angels, etc.)
5. Has a random map generator
I'm completely confused by all these hundreds of versions and builds. In general, I want to see a clean Russian version without any complex and cheating additions and bugs.
1. There is no ninth Castle (Conflux).
2. There are no level 8 creatures and all the WOG (WoGification) innovations.
3. There is no Armageddon's Blade artifact.
4. There are assembled artifacts (Titan's Thunder, Alliance of Angels, etc.).
5. There is a random map generator.
Hello!
Regarding the first four points, the Heroes III: The Shadow of Death version is perfect for you, BUT (!!!) it should not be bundled with Heroes III: Armageddon's Blade. You can check this by looking in the Heroes folder. There should not be a file called h3blade.exe. Just to be clear, the "Complete Collection" version will not work; you need a pure "The Shadow of Death" version.
Regarding the random map generator, either there is a Conflux and a generator, or there is no Conflux and no generator. There is no other option. I don't know if it's possible to install the generator separately.
p.s. Oh, yes. "No Conflux" means that it cannot be chosen as a starting Castle, and Conflux heroes will not appear in the tavern. However, this Castle exists in the game files; it cannot be removed :smile04:. Therefore, if you download a map where the author has placed a Conflux, it will appear when you play that map.

В тихой однообразной жизни всегда так бывает: каждый отдельный день бесконечно долог, но месяцы и годы мчатся с непостижимой быстротой.
I wanted to offer you some flowers, but a crown would suit a princess like you much better

Could you please tell me where I can find an editor for creating very large maps – XXL (252x252)?

Hello everyone. I've been struggling with a question about the mechanics in Heroes of Might and Magic III, specifically regarding the damage calculation for stacks consisting of more than one unit. (Unfortunately, I couldn't find the answer in the Physics Guide. Maybe I didn't look closely enough.)
I'm interested in the distribution. Simply put, will 10 air units hit a target with the same probability whether the target has 80 hit points or 50?
I don't think so. It seems Gauss is also making his presence felt here :) As far as I understand, the damage from each attack is calculated separately and then summed up. IMHO, based on my personal observations.
I also think so, but I would like some serious confirmation or refutation, because sometimes it can significantly affect the outcome of a battle. Not to mention that when you hover your mouse over an enemy stack, the potential damage is displayed, and you need to interpret this carefully in the case of a Gaussian distribution. :)
