Greetings to all fans of Heroes of Might and Magic 3, future participants, and supporters of the traditional "Новичок" tournament. I hope the new season will once again please us with great games and exciting new players.

This is our traditional, and also anniversary - tenth tournament for Новичок.
We do not have a precise and strict definition of who a "Новичок" is. This tournament is for those
- who only recently realized that you can play the favorite old game Heroes over the internet,
- who only recently found out that they are not the only ones who can easily beat computers and that things are not so simple with a real person,
- who recently started playing with more than one or two heroes and building chains...

We do not invite "fathers" and "grandfathers", we do not want to see clones, and besides, would a medal obtained in such a dubious way have any value for a strong player?

The main goal of the tournament is to get to know each other and gain experience in communication and gameplay.

Participant Requirements.

1. A player is considered a Новичок if they have been registered on our forum or another gaming resource for no more than one year.
2. Players who have longer playing experience but wish to play in the tournament will be considered on an individual basis.
3. Already sufficiently strong players who have shown good results in any tournament are not allowed to participate.
4. A tournament participant must have at least one game in the seasonal rating according to HeroesWorld rules (this can be played after registration). This is necessary to ensure that you are technically able to play online and have an understanding of World rules. In separate cases, this criterion may be waived (if the player is known on other gaming resources and plays successfully there).
5. Players wishing to participate in the tournament agree to provide any additional information requested by the tournament judges.
6. The organizers reserve the right to refuse registration to anyone if they believe there are valid reasons, without a public explanation of those reasons.

Submit applications in this thread. In the application, specify:

1. ICQ number for contact;
2. convenient time for playing;
3. when the first online game was played;
4. if the participant came from another gaming resource, they must state where from and their nickname on that resource.

Organizational Matters.

1. Leads - The_ (IСQ 241568808), Lim4 (ICQ 451224720, creating and updating tables, tracking tournament results), Grizvald (ICQ 592025309, compiling the participant list and selecting players for participation in the tournament), Judges - Pit for LM (ICQ 471401475).
2. The tournament is held according to the Rules of organization, conduct and participation in HOMM3 online tournaments.
3. For each game played, participants must provide a detailed report and detailed confirmation in this thread. Only in this case will the game be counted.
4. Technical results are awarded for games not played within the established timeframe.
5. All tournament games go into the seasonal rating. The list of reports will be passed to the Rating lead. Do NOT duplicate reports in the season.
6. Saves of all games must be kept until the end of the tournament and presented upon first request by the tournament leads, judges, or any member of the AC.
7. Disputable moments, if any arise, are requested to be discussed off-forum. For a resolution, you must contact the tournament lead or judge via ICQ and provide daily saves, ICQ logs, and other necessary information.
The same judicial decision is made primarily based on the tournament rules. If the situation that has arisen is not regulated by the rules, the judges are guided by basic logic and gaming ethics.
8. Based on the results of the tournament, the winner will be awarded a "Winner of the Новичок Tournament" medal under their avatar

Regulations.

Stage 1. Group.
All games in the group are played on template 2sm4d(3).
Each player in the group plays one game against all others. 1 point is awarded for a win, 0.5 to both for a draw, and 0 for a loss.

One week is given per game. Games can be played in any order.
If a player has not played the required number of games by the end of the current round, they must explain the reasons on the forum or by contacting the tournament leads personally. "Disappeared" participants will be disqualified and replaced by players from the reserve list.

Two players with the highest number of points advance from the group to the playoffs. In case of equal points, places are distributed according to additional indicators (in order of priority):
1. Berger Coefficient (calculated only based on results shown in the group).
2. Head-to-head match.
3. Points earned in a game "weigh" more than technical wins.
4. If it is impossible to determine who advances to the playoffs by the previous indicators, players will be offered a scheme of tie-break games. At this moment, it is impossible to foresee all possible combinations of results. Therefore, the final scheme will be thought out based on the situation that develops in the groups by the end of the stage.
In this case, the seasonal (permanent) rating will play a larger role.

Dates.

Registration - December 28, 2013 - January 18, 2014.
Approval of the participant list - January 18-22, 2014.
Draw for the Group stage and start of the tournament - January 24, 2014.

Rules.

1. Game version. The tournament is held on game version SoD 3.2(4.0) + HD mod + HW_rulez (For correct operation, the patch must be installed for both players), by mutual agreement WT.
2. The tournament is conducted according to the rules of online games in Heroes 3.
3. Total restarts: 3 days ( 111+111+111 or 111+112 or 113)
4. In the final part of the tournament, the template is chosen by a draw from a list of 5 templates: 2sm4d3, jebus Cross, Panic, 8mm6a, mini nostalgia.

Two fifth places in the season... Aren't you ashamed to sign up? SevenSana isn't here yet, still quite a noob :)

As The_ rightly pointed out in one of his posts, I mostly play against beginners. And with some, I play several times. So, my position in the season doesn't really matter. Out of the small number of participants who signed up, I can name three who play on my level. And Graf_bananov stands out (just look at his group in favorites). I don't mention Diabler because I think he won't be selected as a finalist for the "novice" category.
P.S. Vatya, I understand your desire for revenge, but only with a chess timer (I play slowly myself), but you break all the records.

Bananov defeated me (didn't let me into the favorites), then killed Bishop (1st basket in the group). In my game, FB was a formality; we played with a harsh timer, but the opponent moved very quickly and very well.
I'm not saying that I'm unbeatable (although Bishop is extremely strong). If you put me in 1st place and Bishop in 2nd, and Bananov kills us both in a row in another tournament, what's the point of listing him as a novice...
