Posts from Tactics for Rampart.
The coolest ones are the Dendroids.
My favorite faction.
The coolest ones are the dendroids.
Attack – that's unicorns, pegasi, elves, and centaurs...
Centaurs are quite strong, adding elves and the development is going well... Dendroids are a terrifying force... eight of them per week is too much... but they are "balanced" by pegasi). Unicorns are nothing special, and the dragons are generally tolerable. In the Castle, the only useful thing is the treasury... otherwise, the Castle is not outstanding in any way... Elementals are still the best anyway.
And the treasury is always useful on large maps.
So, Rampart rules!!!

But it doesn't need as much ore as the Castle :(
In fact, you need at least 100 ore for the Rampart! And sometimes even all 130.
(just the dragons need 60, and that's without mage guild, etc.)
But 50 is enough for the Castle.
On an XL map, it can be frustrating to level up Leadership and Luck skills only to have them nullified during a battle with the AI (or a human)—I prefer the following skills:
Logistics, Armor, Archery, Diplomacy, Wisdom, Earth Magic, Tactics, Resistance.
I also try not to take the Attack skill—attack is not the strongest suit for a Ranger, and a 15% increase in damage dealt at Expert Attack won't play a significant role. I think it's better to level up Defense—it's already high for both the creatures and the hero (Ranger), and combined with the Armor skill, it makes units even more impenetrable-))))
Regarding skills, I try not to take Luck and Leadership, as there are usually many simple artifacts that increase morale and luck. There are also many artifacts that remove these bonuses.

Skills: wisdom, logistics, pathfinding, catapults (to destroy walls) (essential), leadership, attack luck, defense luck, resistance (desirable).
If there is free space and none of the above are offered, then earth or air magic... if there are many archers in the castle, you can also take archery...
In general, I try to always take these skills for all races...
I consider heroes like Enova and others who bring 350 gold to be useless...
