Two years have passed since the last such event; countless waters have flowed... But everything returns to its origins, and here we are – starting again! Since we skipped 2011, this competition will essentially be "Best Battle Report 2011-2012" so that nothing valuable is missed over these two years;) . Therefore, you can submit links to reports published from January 1, 2011, to December 31, 2012 (or dated within this period).

Contest Rules.

1) Any user registered on our portal who fulfills the Contest Conditions may participate in the Contest.

2) The Contest accepts any reports from any Internet resources, confirmed by links to them, dated anytime from January 1, 2011, to December 31, 2012, inclusive.

3) Each user registered on heroesworld.ru has the right to send an unlimited number of links to reports, even if they are not their own (in this case, the author becomes a participant with their consent). It does not matter what the outcome of the match was for this participant - victory, defeat, or draw.

4) Reports (or simply links to them) can be sent via e-mail: konstantout@yandex.ru or as a private message to the host – i.e., me.

5) After sending the report, it is recommended to leave a message about it in this thread (the report itself should not be left here; it is only sent via e-mail or personal message).

6) The deadline for submitting reports: from January 7, 2013, to January 31, 2013, inclusive. However, there may be a slight extension or shortening of the deadlines due to the activity of participants and quorum – approximately 10-12 participants.

7) The winner will be awarded a prize – a badge under their avatar on HeroesWorld.ru.

Selection Stage.

No more than one report from each participant can reach the Final. If a participant sends more than one report, the host selects the best report from that participant at his discretion, guided by the Criteria for selecting reports.

Final.

1) Reports selected by the host participate in the final, which consists of a general vote.

2) Every user registered on HeroesWorld.ru can vote in the corresponding thread. A poll topic with voting options and, of course, the actual candidate reports will be created around February 1, 2013.

3) Each person can vote only once and only for one report. Tournament participants, including finalists, are also allowed to vote, including for themselves.

4) In the poll, it will be visible who voted for whom and who voted. The poll will end tentatively on February 15, 2013 (minor changes to the deadline may occur due to quorum).

Criteria for selecting reports:
• practical value (informative nature) of the report (meaning a style of play / writing a report from which players can learn new / useful information);
• artistic value of the report (evaluated based on its style, art of writing, the game moment plays an insignificant role);
• of course, wit and humor.

I would like to note that in our streaming era, artistic value and wit come to the forefront IMHO because it is much easier to learn through streams than through reports:rolleyes:... Please take this into account!

I apologize to everyone for the delay. I'm currently very busy and not able to actively participate in the forum due to a new, demanding job. I'll try to sort through the reports and post the poll tomorrow. If not, I promise to do it next week, in any case. Until the poll is available, you can still submit your suggestions; maybe someone will remember something from the past two years.

So, a week has passed according to the Alpha Centauri calendar :). It's an important task; after all, it's a contest that lasts for 2 whole years, so it can't be done quickly:smile01: ... And hello again:smile02:! The poll remains open and will be valid until 24:00 on April 14th, Sunday, despite everything. Please note that reports 9 and 10 are interconnected (read both to understand!), but they are voted on separately, of course. I think that's all. I don't care who and what. I'm just looking at things realistically. His reports were like fairy tales. He even wrote reports after losing. Many people read them. The next one was almost a continuation of the previous one. I thought the judges would add something or someone would. But there's nothing here:(

Colonizer isn't someone I know. I haven't played with him and don't know him. Here's one of his reports... they're all like this

After defeating the Elementals, Ivor said goodbye to Seiliaedh and headed south through the deserts. Not far away was the village of Wild, surrounded by high walls. The inhabitants greeted Ivor joyfully (they heard news from the north). Soon, the ranger received a new assignment - to cool the ardor of the warlike peoples of the southern swamps.

Week 1
In total, there were 13 Elves, and nearby was a dwelling of Gnomes. He visited the Observation Tower - he saw his native secondary Castle behind the horde of Gnomes and a Castle in the swamp behind Ogres, a dwelling of Dendroids. He captures both Castles. In the swamp, near the city, there is a dwelling of Wyverns with 20+ Swordsmen (of course, he breaks through). There is very little money, he builds levels 1-3 and 5 in the Citadel in both native Castles.

Week 2
He buys a few Elves and Wyverns (already 4). He explores the swamp a little, visits crypts and demon pits. There is not enough money and wood. By the end of the week, he manages to find some gold and wood, and builds Wyverns in the Citadel:
"... Since my arrival in the village, I noticed how poorly its inhabitants live. My gold supply ran out very quickly. I had to work hard on trade and social reforms..."
By the end of the week, the income becomes normal, the market rate is 50 gold for wood. Ivor is level 9, an expert in tactics and defense.

Week 3
He notices that it's the week of Battle Gnomes. He buys all the Wyverns (8 more join the remaining ones), then 50 Lizardmen (with a dwelling), and there are 60 High Elves. With Elves, he breaks through the Minotaurs guarding the Pandora's Box (they gave 30+ Captain Centaurs, I was very happy), the Conservatory (+1), and the minimum Treasury. He buys 99 Battle Gnomes and on the 6th day, he shoots down 3 Crystal Dragons.
"... How beautiful these ruby-colored creatures were. It's a pity that such beauty had to be destroyed. We lined up our troops, and the dragons noticed us. I was a little surprised by their quick appearance, but my warriors were ready. A hail of arrows rained down on them, but the dragons stood their ground and continued to hammer our units at the front. Soon they shattered into thousands of fragments, and we went to the capital of the inhabitants of the southern swamps - the way was clear..."
The opponent did not expect such a turn of events (the main hero was far away + the army was significantly inferior to mine) and surrendered.

Stratte, thank you for the game! We survived in the same conditions, but I was a little luckier

Maybe we should add the Colonizer? The guy is really putting in the effort :)

I've added it. You add the link to the report in the first post. By the way, it would be good if the poll had a limited duration. How long should it last?

The poll is tentatively scheduled to end on 02.15.2013 (the end date may change slightly due to the quorum).

I'll take a closer look at the colonizer's performance during autumn and winter and post a link. Until April 14, 2013, 24:00, I already mentioned it in the topic above.
