I don't see the point in rules that can be interpreted in any way, therefore, there is no such rule in the tournament and there will not be, because it's nonsense.
"Это нам идеально подходит!" [Новосибирск, 2013] "Красавчик! Если только не читер.." [Киев, 2014] "Это Вам не шутки - нажрался Dust в маршрутке" [Новокузнецк, 2015] Сам ты фиш (с) :D
- It is forbidden to use cheat codes and all kinds of "bugs" during the game.
This is the same as adding a clause to the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation stating that "it is forbidden to do bad things."
This wording has been carried over from one version of the rules to another. This clause appeared when people on the forums didn't yet know how to play and were afraid that more experienced players from other resources would start using something. Now people have become more knowledgeable, and the rules should be clear. If something is not allowed, it should be clearly stated what exactly is not allowed, in points 1, 2, 3, etc. Medium_HP
And if the physics guide contained an accurate description of the berserk mechanic (which is quite possible, as the mechanism has been known for a long time), would it be considered a feature? Maybe it should just be added to the physics guide?
It already exists.Lider1
+100500 "Terrible Secrets" can be viewed by anyone in the physics guide on page 72.
Blocked Storms, they attack in melee and deal half damage, but according to the description, they should deal full damage. Is this a bug?
The description should match reality, i.e., yes, this is essentially a bug and needs to be fixed (either the damage or the description). The situation is similar with the ballista - either don't state that the number of shots is limited, or limit them. Ideally, the game should be complete and consistent, in my opinion.
Hey, can you tell me why you would cast Anti-Magic on the enemy when they have two strong units and you only have one? Wouldn't it be better to cast it on yourself and safely fly around, attacking everyone? With the Ring of Kent, you can easily fly up to an Archmage and take them down. It was a strange battle. But using game bugs is considered cheating! That's why double casting and other similar things were banned. It's a bug, and you're not supposed to use it! What about when there's a bug where a hero runs around on the map, but is actually sitting in a castle? Is it okay to play like that too? Because it's just a bug. Anyway, God will be the judge. GOD, come and sort this out.
if I were to cast antimagic, on the next turn, the opponent would have the first cast again, and he would cast it on the second unit as well, or first wait for me to kill the viv with magic, then resurrect it with archmages and again cast antimagic. What should I do after that? If he has simple vivs with monarchs of the same speed... you can lose even with better stats...
Andrey will voice the decision of the Arbitration Committee; he seems to be having some problems right now.
Regarding the rules:
The first draft of our rules for SoD was based on the HP rules. It seems that the phrase originated from there:
It is forbidden to use cheat codes or any kind of "bugs" during the game.
When I was developing the second version, we discussed the game bugs in detail. Some bugs were prohibited:
5.13. Bugs:
5.13.1. It is forbidden for the Artifact Merchant in the Castle, Tower, and Dungeon to sell Artifacts or Magic Scrolls at prices that do not correspond to their actual price.
5.13.2. It is forbidden to use the bug of viewing the opponent's hero.
5.13.3. It is forbidden to use a hero without an army (the army must have at least one unit). Before dismissing, you can take the entire army.
and the use of other bugs was allowed, and they were not listed, assuming that the phrase was sufficient:
5.14. Actions that are not prohibited/restricted by these rules are permitted.
The phrase
It is forbidden to use cheat codes or any kind of "bugs" during the game.
was left by me in the section "V. Non-standard and controversial situations. Judging."
Why? The game bugs are described, but it is very likely that bugs will occur when using additional programs and files. When reading the rules carefully, we find another phrase (section I.2):
The player using these programs and files is responsible for all bugs that occur.
It is impossible to predict in advance what might happen here. For example, there was a period when using a mod could cause extra units to appear when splitting a stack, or there was incorrect growth. Such "all kinds of" bugs cannot be used.
Back then (winter 2010-11), we managed to discuss and refine the first three sections. It took more than 2 months, and we worked very actively. According to my plan, the section "V. Non-standard and controversial situations. Judging" should also have been developed at that time. But serious problems in real life threw me out of Heroes for about six months. I believe that something fundamentally new should be introduced into the rules all at once and not often, so as not to confuse players and organizers. After the rules were adopted, I did not make any significant changes, only some clarifications and additions based on the results of the vote. Now, 2 years have passed since the release of the 2nd edition, I am preparing the next - the third - for discussion. I have changed the structure, made some additions, let's discuss what else needs to be changed... In the coming days, I will start moderating the Useful Info section; there has been a lot of garbage accumulated again, and I will add something (I will probably write an article about the game bugs so that there are fewer questions from beginners) and rearrange some posts, and after that, we will start discussing the new edition of the Rules.
Regarding this situation: It is extremely rare. In our season, it happened only once; the players turned to the judge, they sorted it out, the bug was allowed, and there were no complaints. How is this spell worse than blindness or an explosion? Should those also be banned, as they also ruin everything?
I repeat, our rules are written for SoD, the tournament is played on WT, which a priori declares permission for any actions.
And how do you like the WT bug, where after splitting against neutrals, their number doubles? Vitaly and I had this in the previous game - the dragons suddenly multiplied :smile04:
