I ate sushi made by my mom (the fish was smoked, not raw). It was good, but the rice was a little undercooked and the sushi fell apart.

I'm eating salads and all the other things that are usually eaten for the New Year.

New Year's candies! I haven't eaten them in several years.

And I also remember my despair and helplessness, the feeling that I couldn't change anything, when I was eleven years old and they told me that SANTA CLAUS WOULD NO LONGER EXIST, that SANTA CLAUS IS NON-EXISTENT, and that I WOULDN'T GET A GIFT FROM SANTA CLAUS. It was a real shock. Of course, I suspected that he DIDN'T REALLY EXIST, and what's more, I saw through the cracks in the door how he took off his beard and drank alcohol with my parents while I was supposedly in my room playing with my new Bionicles, but still, it was so upsetting, just awful.

The issue was actually discussed while we were making the last batch of dumplings before the New Year.

They gave us some nice candies. One of the gifts was entirely made of dried fruits covered in milk chocolate, which was pretty good.

I had a couple of them when I was a kid too.

Because they were given as gifts for every holiday. And at New Year, they were given twice, first by Santa Claus, then by my parents.
