What new features have been added? I've looked through it, but I don't see anything particularly significant. Belendor, *you can install version 3 of the mod in the same folder as 2.98, and they will both work independently of each other.* And, in my opinion, instead of messing around, it's better to simply implement a turn transition in version 3 in the described situation with the freezing; many "heroic" glitches have already been fixed there, but this one is the most unpleasant!
By the way, I myself am currently playing on version 2.98, although I periodically downloaded and tested 3.xx, but I haven't fully switched yet: there are a number of ambiguous new features, especially in the latest releases.

The problem is as follows: I have an Acer Aspire One netbook with Windows 7, and in the game, there are some strange graphics issues. Specifically, there's a trail behind the cursor, and small areas of the image under the cursor sometimes follow it, creating a mess on the screen. I've tried installing Heroes 3 from different sources, different versions, and running it with different compatibility modes, but the problem persists. I haven't had a chance to update the video card drivers yet, but I doubt that will help. If anyone has encountered this, please let me know if it can be fixed. Maybe there are some graphics settings that can be disabled in the files?

I think the problem lies with Windows 7 and the hardware, not with Heroes. I don't use Windows 7 myself, but I've seen recommendations here on how to fix similar issues. Don't be lazy, search the thread.

I read the whole thread, and someone else had a similar problem, but they didn't get an answer. I also have Windows 7 on my desktop, and everything works fine. I understand that the issue is with the hardware, but is there really no way to fix it?

The same operating system and the same software (not identical, but the same – from the same disc) can behave differently on different hardware. Why – it’s unclear, probably due to incompatibility with the hardware; sometimes, the issues are resolved through trial and error. I don’t even know how to help. If it’s not critical, install Windows XP instead of Windows 7.

It's not my netbook, so I probably won't be able to downgrade it to Windows XP. I searched online and want to try running it through 3D Analyzer.

Does anyone know what this is? And how can I remove it?

This reminds me of the situation when launching the RoE and AB campaigns with the HD mod on SoD.
"To prevent errors from appearing when launching campaigns with the HD mod, you need to insert the game disc and uncheck the 'No CD/DVD' option, or copy the files heroes3.snd and heroes3.vid (over 390MB) from the game disc into the Data or _HD3_Data\CD folder."

GoedenDag, please provide more details: under what circumstances does this message appear, what version and build of "Heroes" do you have, was it installed from a disc, etc. For now, we can say that the game is definitely not finding some files in its resources.

Hello. I decided to play Heroes of Might and Magic III with two friends in Platinum mode. But after the first and second players take their turns and pass the turn to the third player, the game freezes during the data transfer. We are playing through the in-game TCP/IP. When there are only two of us, everything works fine. Google didn't help.
Has anyone else solved this problem?

Try playing through Hamachi. If that doesn't help, the problem is with the router (I assume one of you has one).
