Posts from Are you in favor of electing Moderators?
A team of one person. That's just unbelievable. It's as if there's a difference between having one person in a section or three, where only one person actually visits the forum. It's just the appearance of a team that doesn't really exist. I doubt it would be more difficult to moderate section 2 if the inactive users were removed.
Отдай свои прошлые сны, В сомненьях себя обрети, В бешеном танце душа кружится! Не думай, что будет потом, Здесь и сейчас мы живем, Стань хоть на миг сам собой, слышишь!
Because you don't need to be involved in the section to understand that the absent moderators are not helping the forum and are not doing their job. Should we continue to keep someone as a moderator just because they are someone's friend and we want to preserve some kind of memory or something else?
People have voiced the same thoughts I had about moderators with zero activity, which I had a few years ago. What's the point of their green nicknames if they don't do anything? Is it just so they can feel good about themselves because they have a "privilege"?
In general, inactive moderators should be removed. And this should be done periodically. Whether it's through elections or just an appointment, I don't care. The main thing is that the person "works."
Сейчас балуюсь этим https://vcmi.eu/download/ За то что нейтралы не бегают за единичкой, для меня это уже стоит того
Perhaps someone can provide a reasoned explanation of the purpose of this topic? What is the fundamental difference between an elected moderator and an appointed one? An elected moderator, just like an appointed one, can and will sooner or later become inconvenient for a certain category of site users. The moderator has no special privileges, authority, and certainly no salary, and on a forum as democratic as HeroesWorld, a moderator actually has to work hard to "shut down a rude person," because rude and inappropriate users have far more rights here than on many other forums. If anyone thinks that a "their own" elected moderator will be convenient, they are mistaken—a moderator must, by definition, be an independent person, not to be confused with being tyrannical. A moderator elected by the crowd will, de facto, feel indebted to that very crowd, and each participant in the election will have the right to "remind" him (the moderator) of whom he owes his green color to. So, my opinion is that I am against elections. But what really needs to be done is to pay attention to moderators who haven't appeared on the forum for months or even years, and not wait until they deign to post in a topic about relinquishing their duties. I suggest that section coordinators analyze their areas and initiate a process to refresh the moderator team.
I don't often agree with Querty, but in this case, he is 100% right. Each section, or almost each section, has a moderator or a team of moderators who oversee all the affairs of the section. And it is he (they, if it's a team) who should select a candidate if he (they) sees the need.
That's correct, but appointing new moderators without a "popular" vote is not allowed. And no one is planning to reappoint existing and active moderators.
That's correct, but new moderators shouldn't be appointed without a "community" vetting process.
That's what I'm talking about; the Creator grants rights to anyone who asks, even a 12-year-old. But apparently, some people don't care, as long as specific individuals remain in their positions.
You need to understand the following. The moderators of a section are a team. The team is selected by the (playing) coach; it is not the result of a fan vote. I am responsible for my section, and for the absence of other moderators in my section – I am. If there are none, I must ensure that everything is in order. And if someone is assigned to my section by vote, I will not be able to be responsible for their actions.
I completely agree. I personally select the moderators for each section with 3 heroes, and I consult with other moderators. It is very important that the moderator is a reasonable person, and not someone who simply received more votes from friends, and then started assigning points to everyone and participating in conflicts.
I would really like to know what Pavel wanted to say by creating this topic? Is he dissatisfied with the current composition of the moderators? Are there any people who would like to become moderators, but they are not allowed?
Смысла нет, но вы держитесь там. Удачи, здоровья, хорошего настроения! И пока в кармане пачка милкиуэйев - значит все не так уж плохо на сегодняшний день
