Posts from 1st annual offline tournament "Best Of The Best"
Hey! I would ask you not to use such language!!! This forum is also read by women and even children! :)
Now, seriously. Questions for the organizers: 1. Maybe I missed something, but will the winner provide a description of the map walkthrough? 2. I am trying to save my traffic (and I am not the only one). Therefore, I disabled all sorts of pictures, created a page with 5 posts, and in this topic, the first post of each page contains the rules, a table of participants, and other information about the tournament. It takes up 95% of all five posts on my page. It is very inconvenient to read. I suggest leaving all the main information in one post, and in the first post of each page of the tournament, make a link to the rules and information about the tournament. Literally 2 lines. It will be much more convenient.
In general, well done everyone! Some created such a map! Others completed such a map! :) And still others are just great, they decided to combine all this and created a tournament! :)
We could give everyone a rating equal to the last place in Impossible mode. Or not count it at all.
Well, look what happens again. 1. Not counting it at all - If we don't count it at all, it might offend someone, and VDV and I will break our promise (we said we would calculate for everyone - it's another matter that the "normal" players might demand that they be removed, as they didn't know about the coefficients in advance). 2. Setting it to the level of the last place in Impossible mode - why, if even with those coefficients, they don't all take the last places, and some of them even outperform some from Impossible mode with the coefficients.AmberSoler;61032
Regarding the system - I meant which option will be adopted as the main one at the start? Non-linear or oscillator?
I don't care, and I feel that VDV and I won't agree, because your rating is Cumulative - you have a 10% aging, and the rating will most likely only decrease for the player in last place due to the second component. For everyone else, it will constantly increase until it reaches the ceiling. In my system, the rating is Current, and we've seen how it can increase and decrease (you yourself provided a good example of this) depending on the results shown by players in tournaments. I want to calculate both ratings and I want them to be published (they can be on different pages). Who, how, and for what purpose and which of the ratings will be used further, I don't care. Personally, I want to see the current rating to compare my rating with the ratings of other players over time. I know at least one person who liked the idea that, depending on the game, on how well or poorly you played in relation to the leader, you can change your position in the table for the better or worse - that was Prophet. Therefore, access to view both tables should be available. Who looks at what is up to each player. The administration can also use any of the tables for its own purposes.
So, VDV, where did you go? Therefore, I will post the preliminary results of the current rating myself. What is the purpose? 1. "Normal" players may demand to be removed from the table. The rest, look and check, maybe you will find an error in the calculations :) The formulas are in the corresponding branch of this topic. In my system, only one thing has been changed: the leader now receives a maximum of 100 points for the tournament, instead of 50. Everything else remains the same. 2. AmberSoler, please take a look at how I formatted everything there, and in a similar style, or even better, do the calculation for your system at least once and post it here too, you promised me templates. 3. In our system, we will flexibly age the rating; it will be allowed to skip 1-2 tournaments without aging the rating. For now, the aging remains the same at 33%. Let me know the aging policy in your system (% aging, if any, and bonus, if any). 4. Request to VDV - find a way to publish the rating tables in your topic in a readable form, rather than by uploading files, if possible.
And I quite liked the IronAxe rating system. Calculating points relative to the leader seems quite fair and should provide an additional incentive to complete the map as quickly as possible.

to VDV_forever: Sorry for going off-topic.

Before making such statements, read this entire thread /topic/at/61033/.
Study all the tables provided there and then express your opinion... :smile02:
That is, there will still be two saves? But why? Only three people played on Normal mode, and so what? They could have easily played on Impossible mode instead, but they got an imbalance in the rating where Lelya, having completed it in 412 days, overtakes everyone at the Impossible level starting from 13th place (and from 116 to 372 days). Where's the logic? Please comment. Sincerely.
Normal mode will remain as long as people play it!
As for the GAME RATING, here’s how it answers your question regarding the logic: /topic/1754/
Dear IronAxe, AmberSoler!
This rating was experimentally reviewed during the Best of the Best tournament! Regarding aging, we will decide this at the next tournament; most likely, AmberSoler's option of 1/10 will be adopted!
yes..... this is.......... still about the rating............... I don't quite understand why in the rating table... my wife and I have a difficulty coefficient of 1.75, but Lelya doesn't, even though everything seems to be on normal... and also, why is it exactly 1.75 on normal and 1 on impossible? I'm racking my brain... hmm........... maybe I just didn't read something carefully... hmm =/
Questions for the organizers: 1. Did I miss something, or will the winner provide a description of how they completed the map?
Yes, and soon all the descriptions will be available for everyone to see! Please vote for the best one! Zingel;61046

I don't know how to do this yet:( Zingel;61046
But in general, everyone did a great job! Some created such an amazing map! Others completed such a map! :) And yet others were super, they decided to combine all of this and created a tournament! :)
Yes… this is about the rating… I didn’t quite understand why in the ranking table, my difficulty coefficient and my wife's are both 1.75, but Lelya’s isn’t, even though everything seems to be normal… And also, why is it exactly 1.75 on Normal mode and 1 on Impossible mode? I’m racking my brain… Hmm… Maybe I just read something carelessly… Hmm =/
Going to fix it now :o
You can find the answer to your question in this same section. Or here: /topic/at/54276/
Thank you very much for the medal and certificate! I would like to participate in another tournament on the normal difficulty level (I'm not very good at the difficult one). And also, I'm not "he," I'm "she":)
Thank you very much for the medal and certificate! I would like to participate in another tournament on normal difficulty (I'm not very good at hard difficulty). And also, I'm not "he", I'm "she":)
You're probably just pretending!!!:smile01:

VDV, I hope you'll write about your battle tactics against Ifrits. I'd really like to read it. Also, it could be done so that players submit their battle tactics, and then these are sorted, and the most interesting ones are posted on the website.
