Assign a higher movement speed to the leader in the calculation scheme – for example, 5 – and see how all the values become equally close to zero. But don't tell me that such a speed is questionable in THIS tournament. I'm not talking about a specific tournament, but about your calculation method. Then apply aging and calculate the results based on the sum of two tournaments. I've suggested you do this three times now. After that, try to argue the validity of such an imbalance.

I don't have excel at home. I've already seen how those in last place get a ton with you :) especially with smoothing :) The player in second place simply receives a portion that is 16 smaller. This is exactly how the bonuses you're trying to artificially cram into your system work automatically for me. The leader can lower the rating of players at the bottom, while those at the top receive smaller portions as the rating accumulates. Because there is a ceiling, and you know it. The higher you climb, the harder it is to climb. And so that you aren't quickly caught up to by someone else's result, you try to lower the rating of those trying to catch you. What's not clear here? Why artificially resolve this situation? Or do you want to accumulate rating infinitely, so that a player arriving in a couple of years looks at ratings of celestial heights that can never be reached and just quits?

:) I commented on all of this without even looking in my previous post. I just went to my neighbor to make sure - it's exactly as I said. In my system, the leader reduced everyone's rating because he cannot get more than 100, and his increase will constantly decrease due to aging, so what should he do? He then targets the players in second place, reducing their rating. After all, the calculation is relative anyway. But the rating works correctly in this case. The leader played great, so he is pulling away!!! And the method doesn't matter.
No one is offended in my case. The leader rose, and everyone else was slightly reduced. But how did he reduce them? The rating simply reflected the fact that in this particular race, the leader pushed the second-place player so hard that the entire group fell back. In other words, he demonstrated the leader's strength in reality, and the strength of the others as well. The second-place player fell back significantly, the third is now slightly behind the second, and so on. The force of the push on the underdog has completely faded. But the fact that the player in second place didn't gain any points doesn't mean anything; they could have been in fourth place. As it is, they played, albeit unsuccessfully, but managed to stay in second place. This means their efforts were not in vain. Skipping the tournament could have had even worse consequences, ESPECIALLY if the bonus ended

So, we have two balanced systems, but they pursue opposite tactical and strategic goals.

However, it depends to a much greater extent on the results of the most recent completed tournament than on the results of previous tournaments... A win by an average player in the latest tournament will almost always put him in first place, but only until the next tournament, if he doesn't win it again. Because even second place doesn't guarantee him a high result.
A large gap between the leader averages out the results of all players - although proportionally to the results achieved by these players, the entire scale can fit from zero to 20 points for everyone, while the leader reserves the right to get 100 points in any case... However, it should be noted that the rating aging always occurs at a rate of 10% of the nominal value, and therefore it is often observed that, as a result of a tournament, a player who achieved a good result will receive a decrease in the rating in absolute terms.
2. (AmberSoler) The rating is elastic and distributes the result more evenly among the players. That is, it provides a bonus to the player who showed a high position in the tournament (even with a large gap from the leader), but the price for this is a reduction in the tournament rating if the player took one of the last places. There is no bad or good rating. There is only a different way of transferring tournament results to the overall balance. Both ratings use the results shown by the players to calculate the coefficients, and there is not a single unjustified number. So, you can accept any of the proposed options as the main one. AmberSoler's system is not a Current Rating, in the sense that I understand it. A current rating is a rating reflecting the current state of affairs in tournaments, with sufficient consideration of previous tournaments. I would more likely call AmberSoler's system an accumulative rating, which at this current moment might show not exactly the player's current rating, but their Current :) rating, which they now have thanks to the tournaments of the whole year. "Elasticity (or inelasticity) of the system" is the ability to respond to changing external circumstances...
An elastic system reacts with a delay, has a lower frequency and amplitude of oscillations, and therefore is more stable over time. An inelastic system reacts instantly, immediately reflects the final changes, has a higher amplitude and frequency of oscillations, and as a result, has less stability.
So, it's not entirely clear why you are trying to dispute each of my statements, even if there is no argument.
I simply stated the definition of your model according to generally accepted rules. Take economics, mathematical analysis, etc. - everyone will say the same thing.
