Posts from 1st annual offline tournament "Best Of The Best"
To be honest, I don't use trainers or cheat codes; I've discussed this many times on various online forums. I'm old school; I don't like that kind of gameplay, and maybe that's a drawback...
Except for the map editor... :D :smile13:
Sincerely, VDV_forever
I agree 100 percent;) It's not right. In clan application forms, many people indicate that they can play with any heroes and cities, so play with what you have; don't try to find the best heroes...:)
....I would like to hear your opinion about the tournament! All its pros and cons, what would you like to change in the rules, in the tournament itself. This information would play an important role in the next Best of the Best tournament..... With great respect, VDV_forever
Since this is my first tournament in the 3-player format, and considering the place I took, my opinion is definitely - I REALLY LIKED IT... But if we talk about the cons, I won't say anything new, I'll just repeat.... 1) there was no need to make two starting saves, because the players were not in equal conditions, and surprisingly, it turned out to be easier on impossible than on normal... 2) the map is too big, and replaying it (if you want to change tactics) is, to put it mildly, not desirable. 3) regarding the possibility of bypassing events (like a surprise from VDV_forever) - this, in my opinion, is a bug... Pros... everything else... :smile02: - a very interesting and beautiful map - a huge number of possible walkthrough options

Exactly! And in general, maybe we shouldn't confuse Online and Offline games?
1) There was no need to create two starting saves, as the players ended up in unequal conditions, and surprisingly, it turned out to be easier on impossible than on normal...
Not everyone noticed the difference, which is a pity (CLONE). I'll be smarter next time... I'll do everything to make the two saves radically different from each other!Kyle;60827
2) The map is too large, and replaying it (if you want to change your tactics) is, to put it mildly, not appealing.
This doesn't depend on me, but on the best map from www.heroesworld.ru. However, we will take this into account, thank you.Kyle;60827
3) Regarding the possibility of bypassing events (like the surprise from VDV_forever) - in my opinion, this is a bug...
This is not a bug, but a deliberate action. Although, on normal difficulty, these events with such logistical bypasses should be removed. We'll take it into account!Kyle;60827
pluses... everything else...:smile02: -very interesting and beautiful map -a huge number of possible ways to complete it
Not everyone noticed the difference, which is a shame (CLONE). I'll be smarter next time... I'll make sure that the two saves are radically different from each other!
So, there will still be two saves? But why? Only three people played on the normal difficulty, and so what? They could have easily played on impossible difficulty instead, but instead, they got an imbalance in the ranking where Lelya, completing it in 412 days, overtakes everyone on the impossible level starting from 13th place (which is from 116 to 372 days). Where is the logic? Please comment. Sincerely.

Stop, stop, stop... Come to me about the rating! :D
Initially, this issue was raised, and all its points were discussed:
1. The number of starting saves is determined by the tournament organizer. 2. The only criterion for canceling the second save is the lack of people willing to play on it; otherwise, please go ahead, no one forbids it (although personally, I agree that for such maps as the one in the BB tournament, the "Normal" save does not simplify, but complicates the situation). 3. Players from the two groups do NOT compete with each other, and the rating will not be counted for "Normal"! All other bonuses - grails, etc. - will remain.
3. Players from two groups will NOT compete against each other, and the rating will not be counted for "normal" mode! All other bonuses – grails, etc. – will be preserved.
Didn't we want to calculate their rating without taking into account the difficulty coefficient of the map? So, should we go back? Or should we not count their rating at all?

I suggested it as an exception, only for a specific tournament... There was no reaction to my proposal, which means it was rejected. And here, we are talking about future tournaments. The rating will not be calculated for normal difficulty. We simply won't be able to integrate it, considering the calculation mechanism.

My head is about to explode right now :) And I already sent the VDV calculation using my system and with coefficients. And VDV said that I should definitely include Rapera in it. Now I need to know specifically from someone whether to calculate the rating for normal difficulty or not. And if we calculate it, should we use those coefficients or not? Let's assume that this question is directed to VDV. Hello?
I need to know now specifically from someone, whether or not to count the rating for normal. And if we are counting it, should those coefficients be used or not? Let's assume this question is addressed to VDV.
1. We will not count Normal in the future. It's simply not serious. The coefficients were pulled out of thin air. What was the point of fighting over the calculation details and tying them to reality if we just insert some unknown thing from an unknown source ourselves. 2. If VDV agrees to include the three current "normal" players in the General standings (without compromising the interests of "Impossible" players), then so be it. If they don't agree, then forget about it. IronAxe;60979
But I already sent VDV a calculation based on my system and with coefficients.
Has some kind of system already been adopted? I haven't seen any announcements regarding this.

I agree.AmberSoler;61025
2. If VDV agrees to include the scores of the three current "Normal" players in the overall standings (without infringing on the interests of the "Impossible" players), then that's how it should be. If they don't agree, then we'll forget about it.
But how can it be done without infringing on their interests? Aren't their coefficients already not the best?AmberSoler;61025

I sent VDV a table even before I started discussing it with you. As part of an experiment, etc. You read this thread, and we talked about it. VDV and Prophet agreed, and I promised VDV that I would calculate the rating based on VDV tournaments. VDV and Prophet accepted my system. I got involved here hoping for a unified rating. What kind of agreement do I need other than VDV agreeing to publish the rating? I'm not forcing anyone to look at it. I just want them to agree to publish the results for both systems. If they won't publish them, what's the point of me calculating them? You yourself say that there's no point in voting. Only a few people were involved in our discussion.
