Watched The Princess Bride. The film is quite good, I must say. If you like fairy tale comedies, then this is for you. It's easy to watch, the humor is good, and, most importantly, there are many charming characters. Unfortunately, one of the key characters, the infamous princess, cannot boast of intelligence, charm, or providing much help to the other protagonists; she is a bland and unremarkable character. Nevertheless, the film itself is good, and I recommend watching it.

I watched the new Sherlock Holmes from 2009 and the second part, from 2011. Everything was exactly as I expected – a vulgar, action-packed movie. The second part turned out to be even more boring than the first, although in the first, the villain was some nobody, and in the second, it was THE villain himself. I only managed to watch the second film in two sittings; I fell asleep during the break between them.
The only thing I liked was the three and a half folk tracks that played a couple of times in the films. It was nice to hear "Rocky Road to Dublin."

Today I watched "Exit Through the Gift Shop" and some other obscure thing called "Thrive," both of which are half interview and half plot. The first one is a fairly well-known film about Banksy, the most revered graffiti artist in the scene, about destroyed phone booths and "obey" posters. It's actually very interesting to learn where all this street art came from, especially considering that it's now appearing in high art and even in politics. Also, it tells the story of a guy who filmed all of this, and then decided to become an artist himself and, unexpectedly, succeeded because he copied the knowledge about art and made money from it. Of course, he was later criticized, but everyone basically didn't care. But overall, the film is good. The second thing was about how global corporations are trying to seize power by suppressing new technologies and maintaining oil slavery. It's very difficult to judge how much of it is exaggerated, but I think that such a model is still possible. They also talked in detail about the essence of the financial crisis and UFOs, lol. But in principle, there was also some reasonable content. I'm going to watch "Midnight in Paris" or something like that, because I haven't played Heroes of Might and Magic yet.

I immersed myself in Indiana Jones, rewatching three old films and watching the fourth new one. The first two, about the Ark and the Temple in India, were quite boring. Perhaps they are a timeless classic. Or maybe not, because even as a child, all I remembered were the creepy parts. By the way, it's all quite trashy. A respected university professor kills people one after another in various ways: someone is crushed in a machine, people dissolve completely, a person's head explodes. Overall, they disappointed me. The third one, about the Grail, I liked. I liked it even as a child; it was the only film in which I saw some kind of plot. And yesterday, I finished watching the fourth one, from 2008, which I hadn't seen before. I remember that many people had negative opinions about it, so I read some reviews again. There was a lot of complaining about how they "ruined the old Indy," "he flies in a refrigerator," "there are some aliens, it's all cute, they messed everything up," "it's just boring to watch the film; they just run around, fight, there are some communists." The flight in the refrigerator was indeed a trashy moment, but in general, it's quite in the style of the series. The fact is that the fourth film is ABSOLUTELY no different from the three previous ones. Anyone can see this by watching them all together. The plot in it is no worse than in the previous films. And there was mysticism and fantasy in them, and they were action films with shootouts on mine carts or a fight on a tank rolling into a ravine, or anal clowning with shootouts in some taverns, and they would be just as boring to watch now. Spielberg gave the audience exactly the film they supposedly longed for, but the duckling syndrome and the hatred of any modern product prevented them from evaluating it impartially. Meanwhile, the lush green South America with its magnificent Mayan civilization is much more appealing than yet another desert. Overall, the fourth one is more exciting than the previous ones. It's a good film.

Watched "Kysh and Two Suitcases". It's a good Soviet film, quite funny, positive, and life-affirming. The children act great, and the dog is also excellent. 9/10.

I watched "The Lovely Bones". Well, what can I say? It's typical Peter Jackson – a good half of the film (if not more) consists of special effects. Otherwise, the film is watchable, but I don't think I'd want to watch it more than once. And the main idea ("The dead must be let go") is somewhat debatable, IMHO.

Just watched a truly wonderful comedy called "Galaxy Quest," about a group of actors from a "Star Trek"-like series who suddenly find themselves on a real spaceship. I must say, the film turned out to be much funnier than I expected. It immediately brings to mind "The Fifth Element," "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," and (for some reason) "Back to the Future." Overall, it's a charming and heartwarming science fiction comedy, just the kind I enjoy. I highly recommend watching it.

I watched "The Lovely Bones" last night. I wanted to see it ever since I saw the trailer in the movie theater. However, I expected something completely different, and I can't even pinpoint what. The main idea that Alice Sebold wrote about doesn't interest me, although the overall plot is still good. Peter Jackson created an entire Mist, and it was even better; I really like these kinds of fantastical landscapes on the verge of surrealism, or maybe even beyond. Saoirse Ronan played the main character excellently. Her eyes deserve an entire essay. Before "The Lovely Bones," I had only seen her in one film, "Hanna." I found out about this from Wikipedia because in that film, she played a completely opposite character (and did an excellent job!), so I didn't even realize it was her. Stanley Tucci also played the role of a serial killer, and possibly a pedophile-rapist, excellently, although the film doesn't explicitly state this, otherwise it would be too dark. I don't remember what other films I've seen him in, but he's a familiar actor. Overall, the film is a one-time watch; it didn't particularly impress me, and it's not essential to watch unless you're a fan of contrasting fantastical landscapes directed by a bombastic director.

I watched "Kung Fu Panda 2" the other day. It's a fun, lighthearted cartoon. It lifts your spirits. It's not boring. The only downside for me is that I'm not a fan of Galustyan, quite the opposite, so his voice was a little annoying at first, but if you judge it without bias, the voice acting for the panda is good.
Now I'm going to watch "The Social Network."

"Clash of the Titans" and "Wrath of the Titans". One film is even more nonsensical than the other; instead of a decent movie based on Greek myths, we get some kind of absurdity. It's unclear why the evil Hades, who for some reason betrayed Zeus, and some kraken (why should the Greeks be afraid of krakens when they eat them with garlic sauce!), and with a stupid, toothy face... In short, as Locke would say, don't watch it. 3/10 for both.

Watched **TROLL HUNTER**. Not a bad movie, filmed from a first-person perspective, like Cloverfield. It's supposed to be as realistic as possible. Overall, there's not much to say about it, but it's worth watching; I liked it.

I also took a look at "Imaginararium" – it's a film about nothing. Beautiful, pleasant, but somehow empty and meaningless. You can simply know the core of the film: "an old man lived, and he could make things he imagined come true," and there's no point in delving deeper.
The last part of "Harry Potter" is a typical narrative fantasy action film; it might have been surprising in the year 2000, but nowadays, it's nothing special. There aren't even any cool, well-executed magical scenes from the earlier parts anymore; it's just running back and forth, just like in the book.
But I liked "Real Steel" a lot; it's a very lively and energetic film. The plot, on the other hand, is quite simple compared to the ones mentioned above, but it doesn't pretend to have a deep psychological or philosophical subtext. It's just enjoyable to watch and root for the characters; it's definitely worth watching once.

The game – I really liked it; it’s a very decent film, unlike the modern garbage produced by Fincher.

Unstoppable 2 exceeded all my expectations; it's a great movie.
