Basically, I downloaded the game, installed it, and applied a NoCD crack.

Discussing and distributing the pirated version of Heroes of Might and Magic 5 is prohibited on our portal.

However, this question should be answered because it is generally relevant even for the licensed version of Heroes of Might and Magic 5.

d3dx9_25.dll is a library component of one of the versions of DirectX 9.0c. Each update comes with a new additional library. As far as I know, there are already d3dx9_26.dll, d3dx9_27.dll, and even d3dx9_28.dll.

For the game to work, you need to download the latest version of Directx 9.0c from the Microsoft website - http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=2DA43D38-DB71-4C1B-BC6A-9B6652CD92A3&displaylang=en

DirectX 9.0c needs to be installed. If the disc is in good condition, it should be on it.

Reinstall DirectX; it should help.

As Sandro correctly pointed out, you have an old version of DirectX installed. You need to install a newer version of DirectX 9.0c (preferably the October 2006 release; you can find it, for example, on the discs from the "Igrovania" magazine for that year).

On the "Hammers of Fate" disc, in the "Additional" section, there is DirectX.
Install it, and everything should work!
