I agree, but that doesn't make it a universal principle. Death provides closure – nothing more. As for what gives life… well, I won't say exactly who, or we'll start the same old argument again, which has been discussed here a thousand times already.

My worldview: death is a natural link connecting lives. After death, life begins again! It simply updates the human program!

I agree with this worldview. Only with a new program (a new life) does a person acquire a kind of karmic debt, that is, something they did not fulfill in their past life in order to correct this debt in this life. Hence, the so-called "fate" given to a person is what follows them from their past life... and a person needs to find the strength within themselves to change something if this "given" is uncomfortable for them.

There's nothing to add to such a precise statement! :) The only question that remains is the eternal one: can a person fulfill these obligations? And here lies an infinite question.

Yes, Ganymede, I almost forgot. I mentioned the "moment of attraction" above. :) If He/She looks into their eyes, there's nothing cute or good there. And as for THAT kind of masochism, that is, the attraction to something that causes a rather unpleasant death, I haven't observed it in myself. So, let's not bring Freud into this again. ;)

Ganymede, I believe, associated fear with human interest in it. That's why guys (most of them) depict death as an old woman with a scythe, while girls know how (because I don't know). :cool:

Well, if it were possible for one's destined partner to look into their eyes with a sober gaze... who knows... but a sober gaze is very difficult to achieve, as Pushkin wrote: "Ah, it is not hard to deceive me, I am glad to be deceived myself...". And the greatest self-deception occurs when it seems that one's gaze is absolutely sober :) But what if you have doubts? Doubts sometimes lead to interesting thoughts... and Grandpa Freud, by the way, does too :)

And what difference does it make whether it's represented by young men or women? In some traditions, Death is a beautiful woman, not an old woman with a scythe. And it's not about the gender of the one representing it.

Have you read Mikhail Uspensky? There's a very interesting moment in his novel "Who to Send After Death." Death and Life are the same entity, just in two forms. When she is Life, she is a young girl, and when she is Death, she is a noseless old woman. Life cannot exist without death, and its manifestation is simply one. Maybe we are all dead now, but we will be reborn soon?
