But, of course, everything comes down to balance.

New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
Let's have mages, but Egyptian ones, not Arab ones (painted sphinxes, golems).
Nah... "Egyptians" already exist – Necropolis, although it draws more from Mesopotamia, but there are clearly some Egyptian elements as well. But there are no "Arabs" at all.
or you could take a culture from Africa (there were several empires there that were similar in size and history to Mesopotamia)
maybe give the mages an Indian culture
It's just... strangely quiet... almost unsettling. I hope Ubisoft hasn't completely abandoned the Heroes series.
Indian mages - an interesting idea. Or Indians plus Persians, something like Indo-Iranians.
I'm more in favor of mages in an Arabic style. Or in an Egyptian style: that would be more relevant for Heroes 6.
And I also like that they will be released first.
It's no longer a certainty, as the developer has changed. There are several possible scenarios: first, DLC with mages, followed by an expansion with dark elves; the opposite situation; only elves are released (they do appear more often in the plot than mages); or nothing at all. But! How many bugs are we seeing in the game now, with only 5 factions? And this is the work of the original code creators. What should we expect from the successors' work? Of course, we should hope for the best, but I spent almost half a year discussing this in the main thread for the sixth installment. And the more you build yourself up, the more painful it is to accept reality. Therefore, firstly, I'm not expecting anything anymore, and secondly, I believe that the sixth game needs to be polished to a mirror shine (i.e., no bugs and good balance, plus tweaking the skill system and simplifying the editor), implement several missing elements (town screen, random map generator, simultaneous turn system). Then, put a period at the end, find a worthy developer, and start working on the next installment, because the sixth game is ruined.
