Phew, finally finished this eight-day marathon...

Pit for LM (red, Dungeon, Shakti, Shakti) def Magl (blue, Rampart, Ivor, Ivor), 2sm4d(3), 212.
We took one restart each on the first day, and we began.
111 – I'm in the underground, but there are two native heroes in the tavern, I gather 160 Troglodytes, we play. There's their external dwelling, a Naga bank, a secondary through the portal behind the wolves.
112 – Gogs, wolves, ghosts – some messy fights, I come out with 133 guys. The secondary is grass-type, which is not bad, and there's a Conservatory at the entrance.
113 – Castle taken. Shakti kinda mindlessly ran back and forth, gaining +1 Knowledge.
114 – I check the Conservatory, minimal, good, we'll take it.
115 – +1 Angel, lost another ten Trogs.
116 – Dwarf stockpile for 15 with Tyraxor, and then Shakti goes into the Naga Bank 2-3. Turned out to be a level 3, Angel and 100 Troglodytes couldn't cut down the stack in the first two rounds per hit (bad luck with damage, and Offense was still just basic at that point). In the end, barely crawled out of there with 47 Troglodytes. The Inferno secondary is canceled, and for a long time at that – I'll only get to it in the middle of the third week… Well, at least I have gold, I can build something.
117 – Manticores in the citadel.
121 – Very lucky, two native heroes in the tavern. Upgraded the Harpies, bought the Manticores, cleared the Medusa external dwelling. Gunnar found a Conservatory deep in the respawn, absolutely super, and there's a convenient exit to the underground treasure zone nearby.
122 – Lost one Manticore in the Medusa dwelling at 8, annoying. Then Ivor shows up with his first-week army, kills Melody, and runs away. Too bad, Shakti was standing nearby and could have finished him off.
123 – Buy the spellbook, Mass Earth is already there, a Slow scroll too, the guild gives Blessing. Can take any Conservatory with 160 Troglodytes.
124 – Breaking through the exit to the treasure zone, I immediately see a Hive behind the Magogs, not bad. On his turn, my opponent kills my scout, who had collected a 2k chest and some ore, which Ivor had stolen a couple of days earlier.
125 – The Conservatory turns out to be minimal, very annoying. I head for the treasure zone, put my troops in the castle so I can destroy the blue scouts next turn with some troops. They approach perfectly and are left wide open for Alamar's attack.
126 – Take out two blue heroes, Shakti gets +4 Wyverns in the treasure zone. Where Calh died, I found a +3+3 Shield.
127 – Visited the library, took another 6 Wyverns and a gold mine. Built Swordsmen and took their external dwelling.
131 – Break through the Efreeti for a +3 Sword and Sphere of Air. The treasure zone is over, I need to split up and figure out what to do next, and that's exactly what's not very clear…
132 – Alamar takes the +3+3 Shield from upgraded Basilisks, there turned out to be 4 stacks of 10, they put up a good fight. Shakti, via the stable, mana vortex, and Expert Earth with Lightning Bolt, runs to the ГО. On my side – there are creatures, on the other side – unknown, and I don't really have an army either, but there are no more exits to the treasure zone either, so there's not much to do.
133 – The Bear horde falls, tolerably – lost 4 Manticores and a few Medusas, but on the other side – a horde of upgraded Cyclopes, that's a no-go, turning back.
134 – Kill a horde of Crusaders for a Fireball and a Manticore external dwelling. You know, if I had played properly, I could have been doing this on the first week, rushing early in the second week and ending the game quickly… I set up a chain for Gunnar to take (he has Expert Logistics, a stable, and speed boost on Harpies – should be able to make it) the Inferno secondary, which I plan to break through with Shakti the next day. I clear another Hive, 4-6. We pause here. The prospects are pretty foggy… Although Shakti finally picked up Logistics, so now we can run around.
135 – The Hive turns out to be 6 Wyverns, an Imp stockpile of 2k is taken, Gunnar passes through to the secondary, scaring away (fortunately, because leveling him to 5 is absolutely not allowed, and Logistics is already Expert level 3, making the hero very valuable) all the guards along the way. After taking Inferno, I send out scouts and see two wonderful exits to the treasure zone. I buy Shakti out there. The portal, as it turned out, led to the underground treasure zone I had already cleared, but the lift led out to the grass, which is great.
136 – Kill the Wizards for a Refugee Camp and +3 Magic Armor. There turned out to be a ton of them, about 40, but they died surprisingly easily. Also clear a Hive guarded by 40 G. Behemoths.
137 – Get 8 Wyverns, attack the Fanatics for a +4+4 Crown, and there are almost 100 of them. But Shakti just dominates unrealistically, destroying them with some trash troops almost without losses (a couple of shooters and a Wyvern). Went after the Archmage horde for the Library after that without any hesitation and broke through without losses. Gunnar cleared a gold mine, and I was very lucky that he was 200 XP short of level 5. In the capital, I finished building the castle and the Summoning Portal.
141 – Gunnar scouted a +6 Sword and an Arena, and Shakti, upon entering the library, [scouted] Angels guarding something nearby. So I went for the artifact and the stat boost, but the Angels (5-9) were guarding some junk, it seemed (although it turned out to be Gauntlets), so I didn't go for them.
142 – Kill a horde of upgraded Medusas and get an absolutely unreal artifact from a tomb – the Cape of Speed!
143 – Take the Golden Bow as planned, split up past the stable, then past [a spot for] mana, and run to the ГО.
144 – The ГО falls without issue, too bad I attacked the Crusaders instead of the Angel and they killed 8. Didn't quite reach the capital.
145 – Take the capital, everything around is empty, Ivor shows pathetic stats: 12-12-6-7.
146 – Miss a castle secondary by one tile.
147 – Take the town, finally level up to Advanced Wisdom, and Alamar teaches Shakti Meteor Shower (from Dimer) and Resurrection.
211 – Bring up the army, head towards the opponent's last town. Meanwhile, Ivor takes a Utopia and slightly improves his situation.
212 – Move toward the town, and then there's a somewhat inexplicable surrender, because the opponent leaves his entire army near a tower with a level 1 hero. Inexplicable because Shakti was one tile short of reaching him, and I didn't have gold for another hero, having spent it all on delivering growth from two Castles. Nevertheless, the FB was fought for fun:
Shakti (28, 16, 17, 14(269)), Expert Attack, Tactics, Earth, Defense, Resistance, Logistics, Advanced Wisdom, 49 Medusa Queens, 50 Evil Eyes, 34 Crusaders, 1 Angel, 22 Wyverns, 363 Troglodytes, 51 Archers, Cape of Speed, Golden Bow, +1 Luck, Sphere of Air; Ivor (13, 18, 12, 12(240)), Expert Archery, Attack, Wisdom, Defense, Advanced Diplomacy, Earth, Basic Resistance, 1 Silver Pegasus, 9 Dwarves, 1 Unicorn, 36 Wyverns, 1 Unicorn, 31 Archers, 16 Unicorns, Boots and Necklace of Resistance, Books of Fire and Earth.
The fight is not difficult, Mass Slow, and the main stack decided it, killing all the Unicorns with a Luck strike except one. The rest of the army heavily thinned the Wyvern stack. Ivor's Armageddon didn't affect the situation, my Medusas and the Angel resisted, and there were still plenty of Troglodytes left; they finished off the remaining Wyverns in one hit.
Thank you for the game.

The first round of the World Championship has ended. We have 9 resources and 32 players participating. All 6 representatives from the Czech Heroes3.cz and Bulgarian heroes3-bulgaria websites were eliminated and moved to the lower bracket. Heroes.by and the Chinese Gamerhome lost 50% (2 players each) in the upper bracket. The international Life of Heroes retained 60% (three) of its players in the upper bracket. 2/3 of the team remained with us; World of Heroes and HeroesAlliance each have two out of three players who started. The players from HeroesPortal performed the best in the first round; their loss was only one out of four, resulting in 75% success. Pete, or whoever else – could you help with the save files for the Thinkeer – Maretti games?
In my opinion, the toughest challenge was in the first round, specifically against them.

Javdet (blue Miner, Tant) def Danyt (red Gurni, Crag) 8mm6a 132

Opponent surrendered for some unknown reason - says no time and no desire..

About the game - haven't had such a bad draw in a long time. Fell for the starting +5 to mana Necro, but then....... money only in the Nagas, but to get there, you need money)
Pikemen scoured the adjacent zones - nothing, at home by end of week 2 it's 1-6 in the Citadel..
One more moment - dunno if I did the right thing. 5-9 bone dragons at the shield with +5, I realize I won't be back there, need to break through. Broke through(( Trogs naturally got wrecked, damage was just short by 9-10 HP to kill one unit, and the skeletons went into the meat grinder.

Lost a week, but just started doing something - opponent surrendered. Doesn't want a 2nd game

Thanks for the game.

Opponent gave up for some reason - says he doesn't have time or desire..
No, what kind of jerk is that? :smile51:
I'm really surprised.
To sign up for the world championship, and then back out, saying he doesn't have time or desire.
It really spoils the competitive spirit.
If you don't want to play, then play single-player, not against people.
Started when he wanted, stopped when he got bored.
And it's still suspicious.
He had the desire up to 132, and then it suddenly disappeared.
No, as a man, he should admit that he messed up somewhere and lost.
And say that he realized he couldn't win against the opponent no matter what, so there's no point in playing the second game.
He stole all the joy of a hard-fought victory from Javdet, what a jerk :(

I'm not sure I could have pulled it off. It's exactly the kind of situation where you need to build a lot of "Copetolei" (presumably a specific unit or strategy).
It looks like a throwaway match – the guy initially asked for both an automated and a non-automated game, attacked with Solmyr and a cannon, said he'd have to fight for more than an hour, and then we loaded the game. He executed it completely differently (I observed the whole thing from the overview) and then surrendered on the same turn.

You shouldn't judge people like that. Although this tournament has a grand name, the tournament rules and the game templates used undermine the competitive spirit even more, so in many ways, he can be understood, especially since who knows what's going on in his life? Anything can happen...

Yes, I'm not arguing. Maybe it's the circumstances.
But then, he could say that the circumstances have changed and he can't continue the game.
But not to say that he doesn't want to play. After all, he is playing with another person.
The opponent is ready for the game, waiting, nervous, the game has started, and then - bam - and he says he doesn't want to continue.
There are more polite ways to end a game :)
It's just not very sporting, in my opinion.
IMHO, of course.

There are more polite ways to end a game, you know?
It just feels a bit unsportsmanlike.
Just my opinion, of course.
Well, what’s the point of pretending? Just say it as it is: you don’t feel like it, so you don’t. I myself gave up on a couple of tournaments about a month ago: I sit down to play, it’s not interesting, I don’t feel like it, I play casually, I’m thinking about something else entirely. The question is: why torture yourself and waste your opponent’s time?

Danyt is representing the WoH team, which took 1st place in the multiplayer competition. They have many strong players. It's clear that you need the right mindset and desire to play. But perhaps the team should have decided who to field and who has the desire and ability to play. He immediately behaved in the same way in the first round.

That's Captain. No, Sasha, I don't have those saves.

When registering for such a tournament, you need to force yourself, motivate yourself, and try. You can always find excuses everywhere, but forcing yourself to play when you don't feel like it is what defines a good player. After all, no one forces you to play; you register for the competition yourself. And if something unpleasant, bad, or unfortunate happens, you can always tell the truth or politely withdraw due to a lack of motivation, and people will understand.

7.04.12. Pit for LM (blue, Castle, Valeska, Ivor) def Deep_Mike (red, Stronghold, Crag Hack, Crag Hack), 2sm4d(3), 147.
Another tough game in the World Cup. All restarts were used, and in the end it turned out average.
111 – 30 archers arrived (not upgraded), have fairies for speed. Army is great, but little gold, 4 heroes. Among them is Ivor, which is not bad. Also found an external dwelling of monks, i.e., a monastery.
112 – found an external dwelling of spearmen, several water mills. Bought Sarug.
113 – broke through the portal to the secondary, but on the other side are horde orcs, tough to handle for now. Scouted the Guardian Object – angels. I see a road to another town – grass, and the guard is simple.
114 – captured sword +3, took the max crypt, bought Caitlin. I see a super-fast path to the opponent, next to the Guardian Object, through horde griffins.
115 – the road was blocked by elves for a prison or blue gremlins for an obelisk. I chose the elves, killed 4 archers (turned out to be 19 units with upgrade), but freed Monere and captured the Conflux town. There I bought the eighth hero – Calid.
116 – I decide it's time to check on the opponent. From under Ain's nose, I take a chest of 1500. I see a tasty dwarf dwelling.
117 – however, red attacks unexpectedly:
Ain (0, 1, 3, 3(27)), 3 rocs, 12 orcs, 15 goblins, 6 wolves and 1 green dragon; Monere (7, 1, 1, 1), 26 archers, 33 spearmen, 11 elementals, 40+ single fairies.
The dragon was a completely unpleasant surprise, but what's worse, Ain had a sharpshooter. I probably played the battle wrong – I should have shot the dragon with archers immediately. As it was, I had to buy peace, killing everything except the dragon. I had 4 archers, 5 elementals, and a few fairies with spearmen left.
Alright, I buy 2 horsemen, 4 swordsmen, and go into battle with Ivor (7,6), who has expert archery and advanced attack. Ain, with no mana and no gold to buy peace, dies. All this badly affected both the economy and upgrading – the horsemen are in the fort. The opponent has bears in the castle, but fortunately also little gold.
121 – somehow traded and gathered, bought the growth, took the dwarf dwelling on barbarian land. Unfortunately, the minimal one, with that gold I built a prefecture in the capital (in Conflux I built one in the first week while there was gold).
122 – I kill the opponent's hero, see Crag Hack, who is aiming for a Pandora's Box behind basilisks – turned out to be 50 wolves. Meanwhile, I captured a swamp secondary, very stupidly losing a horseman to orcs.
123 – Crag Hack takes the Pandora and runs to his second underground secondary. I capture a refugee camp – and it's goblins.
124 – mainly scouting the swamp. I find a portal to the treasure zone there, handcuffs (though I never took them). And at the respawn, all 3 parts of the Sharpshooter's Bow are revealed, though I only realize this a few days later. But still, angel arrows are guarded by 100+ eyes, so it's tough for now.
125 – I transfer the army home to Caitlin to take a crypt (minimal) and a couple of external dwellings (monks and swordsmen). Meanwhile, in the swamp, lizards are being upgraded, bought, and starting to break through small guards (first zombies for a couple of chests). I want to build angels in the castle.
126 – external dwelling of swordsmen, castle is built.
127 – external dwelling of monks, dwarf dwelling for 20, with a small trade I build angels. Ivor stays overnight at the stable.
131 – I prepare to take the beehive and the naga bank.
132 – Calid takes a couple of chests, bow +5, beehive for 6 Wyverns. Ivor gets a minimal naga bank and heads to the treasury. Finally, flies are upgraded.
133 – I enter the treasury underground. In a grave, I get a super artifact – Boots of Speed.
134 – I capture a bowstring +10, I fight poorly underground, losing all spearmen and almost all bought swordsmen. I get 10 Wyverns from two beehives.
135 – genies also put in a horseman. I take a Pandora's Box for 10k gold, just enough to build a capitol.
136 – I take the gold mine, another 6 Wyverns. The treasury turns out to be completely pathetic, nothing else there really.
137 – with Ivor, I portal to Conflux, learn mass slow, portal home for the stable.
141 – Ivor collects gold from mills. I prepare to hit the Guardian Object.
142 – I stand for speed at the Guardian Object. Upgrade angels.
143 – I bring what I can, I attack. The Guardian Object turns out to be strong – 5 stacks of 6 upgraded angels each. Many are killed, 15 archers, 9 fanatics, 9 griffins. Ivor runs to the opponent's Conflux secondary, since scouting shows it's very far to the capital, and there's still an unconquered (unscouted) conservatory there, plus the growth went that way, maybe I can catch it. I find an external stable – great, I can make champions.
144 – I take Conflux, the opponent is not visible, I leave Monere for a buy peace and take the conservatory next turn.
145 – Monere is attacked, I buy peace, +2 angels. Ivor stands for speed on an archangel in the middle of the opponent's respawn (both scouted, seems not dangerous).
146 – Crag Hack emerges from underground. In his army – 47 Wyverns, 7 Death Knights, 6 behemoths, 15 birds, a dozen ogres. 13-10-8-lots of mana against my 10-11-2-3. Well, I'm quite scared to attack, so I run to the swamp, from where I plan a march into the treasure zone in the snow (fortunately, pathfinding was just given, and Monere already had it). I also want to buy the growth and upgrade angels from the conservatory.
147 – where will Crag Hack go? Into the snow through his secondary Conflux or to my capital? Both options are not very good for me… But Crag Hack for some reason went to his own… I chase him with Valeska – and what does she see? Crag Hack sped up on 7 single birds. He had the tactic, but our Erdamine has had expert tactic since the middle of the first week… Thanks to advanced logistics and speed from horde flies, I easily transfer 7 single archangels along the chain – and Crag Hack dies, dropping artifacts.
Thank you for the game.

Pit for LM (red, Castle, Valeska, Pyra) def Deep Mike (blue, Rampart, Ivor, Ivor), balance, 137. The opponent restarted on the second day when I had a good advantage in gold, heroes, and starting army. 111 – I take 2 treasure chests from zombies – both worth 2k. I also take a treasure chest, campfire, and water mill from the troglodytes. I see a speed amulet near the dwarves, two naga banks, a medusa lair, and a dwarven mine. Among the heroes, there's Pyra with a cannon. Everything seems fine, although there are only 17 archers and they haven't been upgraded. 112 – I take my native secondary town, and I see a dungeon. I decide to play, which I will later regret. 113 – I found a griffin nest, but the guard is a group of archers, and I don't reach it in the first week. The path Pyra takes leads to a gate of oblivion. I realize things are bad, and I think about what to do to still get cavalry. I have no money at all. 114 – I break through the demons on the lava through the rough terrain. There's a treasure chest and a pile of gold, which helps. Pyra has earth and ranged attack. 115 – I take the speed amulet. 116 – I free Rylando from the dungeon, break through the trolls to another secondary town through the rough terrain (there's dirt and a road there, but an archer horde is stationed on it), and send him there. Pyra finds a conservatory on the lava. 117 – With difficulty, I get cavalry in the stronghold (one log and 1000 gold left). There won't be enough to buy an army. Pyra opens an observation tower on the lava. I see 3 roc nests (but I can't use them), a town, a couple of pandoras, and an exit to the center – through a group of ghosts. The road leads to the central Conflux and doesn't go any further. 121 – I buy two cavalry, and with the help of a tent, I kill an archer horde, and I take a mini-dwarven mine. 122 – I take a barbarian village, and I give the army to Valeska, who raids the medusa lair, taking 6. 123 – Valeska moves to other profitable buildings, and Pyra moves to the pandoras. 124 – A dwarven mine yields 15, a medusa lair yields 10, and I take the griffin nest. Valeska gets logistics and tactics. 125 – Valeska attacks the archers and takes the dungeon village. The army is sent across the map to Pyra, who gets 50 wolves from the pandora, attacks the ghosts for passage to the center, and takes the second pandora for 5k experience. 126 – Pyra goes to the village to replenish mana and buy a spellbook. The army goes to Valeska, who breaks through the portal and goes to the second central Conflux. Calx with ten griffins goes to the first central town. The observation tower shows that there's nothing interesting in the center. 127 – Through the portal, Valeska goes to the opponent's village (it turned out to be very far through the rough terrain), gets a cloak +2+2 to magic and armor +3 there. I take the dungeon. Pyra moves to the conservatory. I built 1-6 in the castle. I found a sword +2+2 and boots of speed near the first Conflux. 131 – Valeska sends the army to Pyra through the medusa lair, and I get two angels. 132 – Pyra goes home (planning to attack the gate of oblivion), and Valeska goes to the artifacts. Edric breaks the naga bank for 4. 133 – Pyra takes the naga bank again for 4, and stands near the gate of oblivion. The army goes to Valeska, who takes the sword, boots, upgrades cavalry in the stable, and picks up Calx's griffins. In the last few days, I barely have 10 minutes per turn... 134 – I gather everything, buy, and upgrade. I attack the golden dragons, and they bite the crusaders. In the desert, I take a hive, +6 wyverns. I see the opponent's gate of oblivion – fantastic dragons. They saved me from certain death... I simply had nothing to fight Ivor with on the second-early third week. 135 – I go into the treasury with wyverns, +18 from three hives. Finally, Ivor appears. The army is serious (unicorns in the castle with elves in the secondary town on the first, unicorns in the secondary town on the second, and there was also a village in the neighboring zone on the road, which was a rampart), but the stats are low. 136 – +6 wyverns. Ivor captured my barbarian village, but I moved the army away from there with a hero, and he took it back, disrupting the opponent's chain. Ivor moves to my capital (and he looks somewhat desperate). 137 – Two naga banks allow me to build angels, Pyra goes home, and I get 4 more wyverns (total 34). On his turn, Ivor attacks my castle. 130+ centaurs and 14 combat unicorns are useless, and we easily deal with the rest. Well, in the 142nd battle in the field with reinforcements, I would have won anyway without any problems, and even the troops of the third week looked better in the field due to the extra wyverns and higher stats. Thank you for the game.
