Well, "thank you" to the esteemed judges for so skillfully crushing my spirit. Honestly, I've lost all desire to play Heroes... As for my attitude towards the game... I took my first tournament very seriously. During the game, I was as focused as possible; I had a piece of paper and a pen in front of me, and I was calculating the approximate damage I would inflict on neutral creatures and deciding whether or not it was worth attacking them. Thank you to everyone who supported me; I doubt I'll be a frequent visitor here.

The judges want the tournament to be fair – don't be offended by them. Keep playing Heroes!
In the novice tournament, where Sevensan played, he showed a level of gameplay much higher than Kilgore (judging by the reports). So, I don't think it's very fair to remove someone from the tournament. Besides, there are many people in the tournament who have been playing for more than just their first novice tournament... IMHO, it's a rather questionable decision.
I would like the organizers to reconsider their decision... and what criteria were used to determine that this player was too strong – I would like to see specifics, not just unsubstantiated claims like "the guy is too good." Plus, Scorpion herself wrote that the tournament is not "Newbie 2012," so I don't 100% agree with the decision. Moreover, after rereading the reports, I didn't see anything super amazing in this player's gameplay (no offense to anyone). It's similar to the situation with Sky Pioneer in the previous tournament – the same thing!
As for Skorpicore, I remember her saying, "This is the Newcomer Tournament 2012, not the Noob Tournament 2012." In a chat conversation with me, she didn't answer several questions: a) Why do I need this? If I'm a professional, the "newcomer" medal will be like a slap in the face; there's no money for it, and, frankly, I don't understand what the ranking is for... So, what's the point? b) Players who I started learning from by watching their streams are playing here... and they are playing. c) I asked the judges questions in the chat regarding the tournament rules; if I'm a pro, why did I do that? d, e...
It seems to me that she decided everything as soon as she saw a post on the forum from one of the players, in response to my report ("O_o I wouldn't want to play with him").
And regarding giving up on Heroes... I'll probably give up. I started playing very confidently! I enjoyed playing, learning from streams, and analyzing my mistakes... but now...
P.S. There are people who don't develop from game to game, don't want to learn or can't, don't understand, and there are those who take on this task with all their enthusiasm, and here's such a slap in the face....
Player Kilgor, we would like to inform you that we have decided to deny your further participation in the "Novichok-2012. Winter" tournament. Reasons: 1) The level of play shown in the qualifying matches and the level of play in the tournament differ significantly. 2) The level of play is very good and does not meet the requirements of the "Novichok-2012. Winter" tournament. In connection with this decision, the games played in the tournament will be transferred to the seasonal rating, and the results in the group will be reset.
Organizers, I hope this step is well-considered and balanced (although it's doubtful), and you are ready for the consequences?
And, by the way, can we take a look at those infamous save files?

They didn't exactly spit on you. On the contrary, they paid you a compliment. And your desire just vanished? Were you trying to impress the judges? Never mind, it's not a kindergarten. :smile02:
№1 17.01.2012 group B Kilgor (red, Inferno, Calh/Calh) def twaryna (blue, swamp, Tazar/Tazar) 2SM4d(3), 122 My first setup was DELICIOUS!! Two external dwellings of Efreeti right next to my Castle, a ton of gold at the respawn, on 113 I could easily have reached two adjacent zones (one past the wolves, the other past the golems), but the opponent took the resource on 112. The next setup we actually played.
111. With Calh, I got three stacks of Gog, immediately took the external dwelling of Gog, ended up with a stack of 30. Spread out pretty well, bought 5 heroes, see a Prison, a Griffin Conservatory, a Dwarf Cottage, and tons of gold. Also, literally two steps away, an external dwelling of Devils, but with heavy guards (50-99 Storm Elementals). Also, Marusya showed up in the tavern. 112 I find an external dwelling of Pit Fiends, in the Prison a 1st-level Ice Hero, I move her to the exit to a secondary zone (Barbarians), guards 48 Gargoyles, for some reason I don't dare attack. 113 I move Demons from the Castle, break through the Gargoyles. The respawn turned out to be poor. I try to pass the army to Calh through a chain, but the chain fails epically, I have to return with the main hero, pick up the army, on the last move I just reach the Troglodytes guarding the Griffin Conservatory. 114 I take the secondary zone. I check the Griffin Conservatory (3-4). 115 I break through the portal in the wasteland, see an external marketplace. I think about how to transfer troops to take the Dwarf Cottage and capture the Pit Fiends. 116 Nothing works out. I don't take the Dwarf Cottage, nor the Pit Fiends. And I make a colossal mistake! Seeing a hero in the tavern who brings gold, I decide to hire him, I buy him... and it turns out I built nothing in the Castle. I needed Pit Fiends, I build a marketplace in the secondary town, trade resources almost to zero and..... I don't make it, I'm literally 1 second short 117 I finally take the Pit Fiends, take the Dwarf Cottage and build a Citadel for Pit Fiends. I jump with Calh into a portal, want to rush my opponent because there's nothing left to demonize, all the meat is lost in battles. 121 The chain for delivering growth doesn't work at all, I place Calh on full speed with 2 Efreeti, and the opponent catches me with a scout hero (Luna), because of the damned ballista I can't buy him off, I lose the 2 Efreeti. 122 Luna doesn't have enough movement to cover the rest of the army. I make a delivery, decide not to take the main hero, plan to run to the opponent's Castle with a scout hero and buy him there (and the Castle turned out to be far away), I cover Luna, she buys herself off, I run to the opponent's Castle and fall short by about a couple of days . 123 The opponent, with a scout hero and the full army, reaches my scout hero who also has the full army . An epic battle ensues (about an hour), in which I emerge victorious (morale on the Gogs 3 times decided everything). Thank you for the game.
№2 During the game I was maximally focused, in front of me lay a piece of paper and a pen, and I was calculating the approximate amount of damage I would deal to neutrals and deciding whether or not it was worth attacking them. Thanks to everyone who cheered for me, I doubt I'll be a frequent guest here.
This somehow made me wary. I don't believe it was written with one hand. a piece of paper, a pen, and at the same time competent chains and good play for Inferno.. P.S. watched the saves
Javdet I usually don't fail in battles, but I still lack experience in building chains. I have a lot of experience in battles against the computer (I've been playing for several years), and I've openly told the judges about this. I can calculate the battle several moves ahead, even before attacking neutrals, but I have little experience playing against a human, and this accordingly affects decision-making, building chains, and deciding where and when to go. You're talking about smart objectives? Is it unusual to defend secondary objectives and take a hidden location? Have you noticed that out of three games playing Inferno, I only summoned demons once?
Yes, by the way, whoever made this decision, it’s unlikely that Tanya did it all by herself. Kilgore, you’re getting unnecessarily worked up, just try to be more relaxed.
By the way, I have a hunch whose calloused hand blocked your path. Visit the Heroes of Might and Magic Online community (www.heroeswt.net); maybe you'll find some worthy opponents there (the players are generally stronger), if they fear you here.
P.S.
IMHO, Twaryna is just as good as the player mentioned above.
Oelm It's frustrating, really frustrating... You know how it is, you study and study for an exam, you memorize everything, and then you get a 3...
Well, they removed you, so just accept it as a sign that you're better than a beginner. Try your hand in other tournaments where the level of play is higher, and there won't be any resentment or disappointment.
