Don't even say it... :) It's about time to create a thread "discussing the RNG in Heroes 3" (for those in the know).
By the way, this isn't a new idea, but it's not being considered at the moment due to a lack of personnel. In theory, each map should receive "approval" from some kind of commission during generation, and the point of restarts would be lost.
It generated slow roads, which are usually more beneficial for Castle, but I decided to give it a try, especially since the starting army had full stacks and a developed 2nd level. 22 lizards straight to the gremlins, took the GG crypt, 4 heroes on dragonflies. Next turn, moved the army into the swamp to take the crypt, looking for wood along the way (out of a Wt side habit, I took the gold bonus :( m). Tazar ran around the pillar, as the army was searching for resources and gold. On day 114, I reached the adjacent grass respawn; Tazar was given Offense and offered water — I didn't refuse. It was already clear I'd build a primitive setup: Wyverns + Basilisks in the Stronghold + a Gnoll Hut. I took a Castle secondary hero; on day 117, I set up at the stables. Painted two external dwellings of Gnolls and one of Dragonflies with the horsies, but never found the wood mine.
On day 121, I bought a spell book — lucky break, got Bless, not bad at all. I headed through the pillar to break into the main area. The horsie scouted and spotted a native secondary hero off-road, along with a Dragon Utopia. I decided to go there with Tazar, since the army was too weak for treasure zone, and the path to the secondary went through two Naga Banks and a Hive. On day 122, I broke in — not enough gold for buying out; I took 105 regular Gnolls, 42 Lizards, 4 Wyverns, and Dragonflies. Checked — Naga Bank for 15. Took it, incidentally getting a morale boost from a full stack that for some reason preferred to kill a Wyvern, leaving the Gnolls intact. With the gold, I upgraded them and took another third-tier Naga Bank — easier now, didn't spend mana. That same turn, I entered the Hive and got 6 Wyverns. Meanwhile, the horsies with the Castle army were collecting chests and crypts on the grass. I fought my way to the secondary; along the way, a Dwarf Dwelling for 15. I brought up a group of Dragonflies and Grand Basilisks; with Tazar's Tactics and Expert Water, contact wasn't scary. I painted a Gorgon external dwelling and built them in my home town; by the end of the week, I finally reached the swamp secondary. Immediately built the Mage Guild and restored mana. Now I farm gold with everyone not busy in chains, and trade fully: 220 Gnolls. On day 132, I brought all the meat and upgraded units; Tazar took a Pandora's Box guarded by 100 Griffins — got 20 Basilisks, but no time left to upgrade them. On day 133, a third-tier Dragon Utopia fell, with losses of Basilisks; I got a Fire spell book, an Earth spell book, and a 4-4 Cap. Could have been better. Now I build the upgrade for the cows and head for the opponent.
On day 136, Tazar took the main Castle; after 7 heroes and Town Portal, I moved the entire army to the main swamp, where Valeska appeared, and with a horsie mage, I attacked — 200 Gnolls, 15 Gorgons, 10 Monarchs, 38 Lizards, and bees settled it.
Thanks.
Thanks for the game, it was tough but fun) At the start, I saw a Monastery and Stables and decided to play; the passage to the secondary (also Castle) was blocked by Griffins. I broke through with the loss of a few Archers, which I upgraded on day 111. Then came the slow spread across my respawn (which wasn't particularly large) and scouting the secondary's terrain with horsies. I saw two treasure zones: one on sand and one on swamp. I didn't go out early; there was a significant gold shortfall. I didn't build cavalry, relying on Monks instead, which turned out to be a mistake...
I lost due to my own inexperience, but the game was still very enjoyable) Many thanks to the opponent for the game and for the brief explanation of my mistakes)

06/22/2011 AlexLion (Haven, Stronghold, Fortress, Gunnar) def zavarka (Inferno, Loynis, Loynis) 2SM4d(3), 232 Game with a report for the Novice Tournament. From the very beginning, the development didn't go as fast as I wanted. Probably that's why both players spent a long time running around their territory. Only towards the end of the month did I capture the Conflux and Rampart castles. I took a Pandora with 40 Ice Golems and went to my opponent. Before his castle, I attacked him. Then I brought in a few more troops and finished him off in the castle. Thank you very much for the interesting game!
First game on the portal, managed to throw away a good setup. The start was encouraging: Tazar in the tavern, a Dragon Fly Hive nearby, a Gorgon external dwelling further away behind the terrain, plenty of gold around, but neither hero brought any archers. On 116 - an Inferno secondary hero, on 117 - a Gorgon external dwelling, Wyverns in the Citadel. Army on 121 - 5 Wyverns, 6 Basilisks. What follows is the result of intense nervousness - fear that the opponent will reach the Treasury soon, hence excessive haste and terrible execution of battles. On the lava I see Boots of Speed, pick them up on 123 with Lunoy, lose a Wyvern and break through 92 Battle Dwarves guarding the portal with Tazar - emerge into the sands. On the other side - 45 Energizers. I fight them - lose a Gorgon. In the sands - 2 Dragon Fly Hives, 50-99 Dragon Flies guarding the Treasury. Tazar has expert Earth, I think I need to buy a spellbook, run to the neighboring Necropolis. Then I remember that Necropolis almost always gives garbage, but it's too late to turn back. And so it is, nothing from Earth, but there is Haste. I want to build Gorgons, but realize that by 131 I might not have enough gold to buy them out. I build 3 Marketplaces, exchange all resources down to the last, and then remember that I need to upgrade the Dragon Flies for first turn. On 131 I don't have enough heroes to simultaneously bring the Gorgons from the external dwelling and the meat from the village. I bring the army from the castle, take 2 Dragon Fly Hives in the sands, the first one turned out to be as bad as it gets - maximum :(, I rush into the Treasury, there are 4 Dragon Fly Hives total, I start to fatten up, but take losses everywhere because I often forget to assign singles. 132 - the opponent emerges from the fog of war, captures Necropolis and snowballs. I take the last Dragon Fly Hive, try to bring the remaining army, but the chain doesn't connect :(. I make a stupid move - return with Lunoy for the army, hoping to get back closer so the enemy can't reach me. Naturally, Monere with Logistics reaches me. With Tactics and Mass Haste he kills my entire reinforcement - 3 Gorgons and 44 Lizardmen - and follows me into the Treasury. I have 5 mana out of 20 and not a single Earth spell. Out of desperation, Tazar (7 10 2 2) attacks Monere (9 5 8 3). My army - 32 Wyverns, 5 Gorgons. The opponent has - 58 Marksmen, 16 upgraded Crusaders, 108 Pikemen, a few upgraded Griffins, and a Lightning Bolt dealing 200+ damage. My heart is pounding wildly in my chest, in the heat of the moment I Haste the Wyverns and cast Weakness, the opponent naturally Slows them down and blocks the archers. Next turn Mass Haste, running away from the Wyverns and shooting them down with archers and Lightning Bolts. Even in the final battle, I think I could have won, but my nerves gave out. As they say, first try is always a rough one :) Thanks for the game :)
SK2TV format. Started without restarts, decent amount of gold, highlighted an adjacent respawn with scouting, there are 2 boxes there, a stack of angels. I rush there through orcs, boxes for 5k exp (Logistics, Earth Magic, Archery) and 45 pokemons. At home: 1k and wyverns in the citadel, also 1k in the village. I take lizards to upgrade; on turn 123, 47 Warriors spot the stack, I also spot a Griffin Conservatory, but saw movements of blue and a Necropolis town, so I break their chain. On turn 124, I pick up Gloves from a horde ofremoved dragonflies, garrison an empty town, Solmyr runs to his ГО — a horde of griffins and suicides on it. Thanks for the game.
It happened. I made a mistake by giving the opponent the red color; it significantly impacts the game on this map. Overall, I didn't like the balance on the Medium map; it's a poor template even on Large, and on Medium, it's even more predetermined. Perhaps, it's better to play on 2-minute maps.
111 Fast. Nothing except 2 treasure chests and a pile of gold, but I recruited 6 heroes. 19 lizards. 114 I needed to place a Wyvern to shoot the archers for a passage to the computer, I entered a crypt. Maxi crypt, decided by a Slow scroll and 30 mana. Got out with the loss of gnolls and 2 basilisks. Next turn Tanya surrendered, didn't take auto, bad layout. (with an external dwelling of weirdos, the layout is certainly not great) :P
Somewhere at the start of the first week I killed the Inferno computer, and decided to switch to the demons. 117 Pit Fiends in the citadel, birds in the fort. Crag Hack with Air, Tactics, and Armorer.
122 Killed 20 Scorpicores for an empty Pandora's Box Oo 123 Successfully entered my treasure zone, where I gathered Dragon Fly Hives. 127 40 Wyverns
134 A trio of Dragon Utopias gave only sandals... 136 A Dragon Utopia with КЗ, Blackshard of the Dead Knight, and a torso +12.
142 Left a scout hero guarding the Dragon Utopia of 10 Wyverns, but got a sword +5 all and wings. Afterwards I ran around, killed the computers, grabbed a couple more Dragon Utopias, but never found control. Went to Tanya, with Shackles of War and Cloak of the Undead King it was fast. Thx for Game Tani.
111 Fast. Besides 2 chests and a pile of gold there's nothing, but I stitched together 6 heroes. 19 Lizardmen. 114 I should have placed a Wyvern to shoot the archers for a passage to the computer, ended up going into a crypt. Maxed crypt, solved by a slow scroll and 30 mana. Got out with a loss of Gnolls and 2 basilisks. On the next turn Tanya surrendered, auto didn't take it, bad layout. (well, with that external dwelling of mutants the layout was of course not great) :P

134 a tier-three Dragon Utopia gave only Sandals... 136 a Dragon Utopia with КЗ, Blackshard, and Body +12.
142 left a scout hero at the entrance to a Dragon Utopia with 10 Wyverns, but it gave Sword +5 All and Wings. Afterwards I ran around, killed the computers, took a couple more Dragon Utopias, never did find control. Went to Tanya, with Shackles and Cloak of Fireball it was fast. Thx for Game Tani.
Because of the external dwelling of mutants, I didn't take the rest right away...and the respawn turned out to be scarce...:(
Regarding the second game: the center was cut off by a one-way portal, and as it turned out later, the exit to the second zone was slightly hidden:o The exit to the computer was only found at the end of the second week. I leveled two heroes, Sandro started to pick up steam, but the troops quickly ran out, then Gunny fought. 5 Dragon Utopias gave quite good artifacts, only I was lacking troops. (from 2 respawns and 2 treasure zones: 4 Griffin Conservatories with 1 Angel each, from all Dragon Fly Hives 16 Wyverns)
P.S. Well, what can I say: the first attempt was a failure. I lost momentum in the second week. And Gunnar runs far ahead with his Angels. In my defense, I'll say that I was playing against a strong opponent :)

Well, what can I say - Gunnar showed himself in the best light - he grabbed the land and defended it)) In the second week, he made it to the Treasure and saw a hidden stash of Angels))) And the tactic for the game was chosen! Plus, in the first week, he built Miners in the Fortress, which allowed him to open all the Necropolises. And on turn 131, he broke through the Gate of Oblivion and came to the opponent's main base):smile42:

25.06.2011 Stryfe (blue, Castle, Valya, Vistan) def zavarka (red, Rampart, Kiryusha, Kiryusha), 2sm4d2, 142 The fourth hero to arrive was Vistan; I decided to switch to him — after all, life is better with some defense). In the first week, I built cavalry in the Citadel, cleared several crypts and Dwarf Cottages, but didn't manage to reach the second town. In the second week, I took a secondary town, collected several decent stat artifacts, had plenty of money, and built Angels in the Castle + captured their external dwelling. On day 131, I took two level-2 Griffin Conservatories, on day 133 a pair of Dragon Fly Hives and a level-2 Dragon Utopia, which dropped a Sword +5 to all stats and a Medal of Vulnerability; after that I built Archers at home, but forgot this wasn't WCL and didn't upgrade the Angels from the Conservatories... but I still rushed straight at the opponent, because his hero's stats were much worse than mine.. By the end of week 3, I didn't manage to capture his town, but at the start of week 4 he surrendered on his own, since he had virtually no army, and also, as I understood, things didn't go well for him from the start. Thanks for the game!
