Greetings to all Heroes fans, future participants, and supporters of the traditional "Новичок" tournament. I hope this season will be hot, and the games beautiful and exciting :) Registration is open, welcome

Requirements for participants:
1. Players who, in the opinion of the organizers, have "outgrown" this tournament are not allowed to participate. That is, players who are already strong enough, including some participants from previous seasons who showed good results
2. A tournament participant must have at least one game in the season according to HeroesWorld rules (you can play after registering). This is necessary to ensure that you are technically able to play online and have an understanding of World rules. In certain cases, this criterion may be waived
3. Please note that by registering for the tournament, you must be prepared to play an average of one game per week.
4. Organizers have the right to refuse registration to anyone if they believe there are valid reasons, with an explanation of these reasons.
5. On any day of the last week of registration (June 24-30), you must message me via ICQ/PM regarding your readiness/unreadiness to play. This is to ensure there are no "dead souls" in the tournament

Below will be a lot of official text, which is advisable to read, even though it may seem boring in places. An unofficial wish of good luck will come a bit later, once we gather :)

1. Organizational issues
The tournament is official and regular.
Tournament organizers, leads, and judges - RiMpel2 (ICQ 580248855), RomarioGrom (ICQ 559716573).
The tournament is based on Rules for the organization, conduct, and participation in HOMM3 online tournaments, Rules for online games in Heroes III and the seasonal rating tournament

2. Dates of the tournament - July - October 2011. Start - July 1

3. Game version. The tournament is held on game version SoD 3.2(4.0), by mutual agreement TE 1.03q, TE Lite or WT

4. Awards
Based on the results of the tournament, the winner will be awarded a medal "Winner of Tournament 'Новичок-2011. Summer'" under their avatar

5. Rules. The tournament is conducted according to seasonal rules for template 2SM4d(3). During the tournament, the rules and regulations will NOT change
For other templates, the rules differ slightly; details coming soon

6. Group stage is traditionally played on template 2SM4d(3).
By mutual agreement, a game can be played on any other.
The number of groups and slots per group will be determined after registration closes.
Reports and confirmations are written in this thread; at the end of the group stage, they will be copied by me to the thread "Online game reports and their confirmations. Season 'Summer-2011'". That is, you do NOT need to duplicate reports in the season thread
Attention: technical results will be issued for all games not played on time. By default, rounds will NOT be extended

7. Draw and current results will be in the second post.
You play rounds in any order, depending on how you agree with your groupmates. If there is an opportunity and desire - you can even play everything out in a week and then wait for others' results

8. Play-offs
Most likely we will play on several templates (including sm), choosing between them by one's turn, using the Full Double Elimination system
The system is similar to an Olympic one, but the loser is eliminated after two losses. Examples can be seen in the previous two seasons

9. Disputed points, if any arise, please discuss them outside the forum if possible, i.e., first contact the organizer via ICQ.
The judge's decision is made based on seasonal rules, basic logic, and gaming ethics. In any non-standard situation, the organizer takes responsibility for making a fair decision.
In certain cases, I reserve the right to involve or not involve the AK (HeroesWorld Appeal Commission), as well as competent and authoritative online players. If you are not satisfied with the tournament organizer's decision (or if you do not trust him), you have the right to contact the AK yourself.
To resolve disputed situations, players provide daily saves and ICQ logs.

Streams

In each group, every player plays everyone else.
On average, approximately 1 game per week. Games can be played in any order. Results will be finalized on August 15.
All players who take 1st-2nd place in their groups advance to the play-offs. Total of 16 people.
The person marked blue in the table makes the first move. The red player chooses the color.

Playoffs

Full Double Elimination
(losers from the upper bracket move to the lower bracket, where games are played in a single-elimination format)

The template selection is done by picking one out of five: смка, Jebus Cross, 8мм6а, mini-nostalgia and balance.
The procedure is started by the blue player.

Blue indicates those who start selecting castles, while red indicates those who choose the color.

Hmm, I've been thinking about this event for quite a while... Initially, I wanted to bring a group of 2-4 friends from real life to join, and I would be an observer and supporter, but they're all hesitant – they say we're not good enough. So, I couldn't fill the quota :(
Regarding myself: I've played in inter-clan matches and various tournaments, but a) I don't play online very often, and b) I haven't won any games against strong players (not counting wins due to opponents giving up) yet :o And I myself think that I'm not at the level of an average player.
