Do you know why crime is minimal in Saudi Arabia and all that? Not because they're sitting on oil, but because they had a smart king.
And as for people relying on a government that won't do a damn thing anyway... Dad, back when we lived in the old apartment, if he saw graffiti in the elevator, he'd grab a rag and some acetone and wipe it off, instead of reading about it every day and waiting for someone else to do it.

If all people are created in God's image, then how can you punish an angel for wanting to emulate God? Are angels inferior to humans, are they not allowed to strive for something higher? If heretics were burned for opposing the division of the world into black and white, is that an act of love? Why do we need heaven and hell if we are all God's beloved children? This is all a consolation for the weak, so they don't strive for greatness in this life. And the person who came up with the idea of heaven and hell should be sent to that hell themselves. If you live and think, you're not wasting time aimlessly, and there's no need to regret it. Every person deserves the life they create for themselves, relying on no one. So, everything depends on us, and if something doesn't work out, the only one to blame is ourselves. But we shouldn't suffer because of it; instead, we should try to correct the situation and steer it in a favorable, i.e., correct, direction – whether it's a straight line or a curve, as you prefer.

Okay, so what do you think it is?

Wisdom is the ability to listen to others and adequately assess different opinions. Philosophy is philia + sophia = love of wisdom. What is the purpose of our discussion? To learn about other people's opinions and express our own. I am interested in other people's opinions. I respect them. And, although I may not agree, I try to provide solid arguments for my disagreement.

Here's an example: faith in God. Some people have it, others don't. And I can't do anything to turn a person into a Christian without God's will.

Believing in God isn't difficult. But explaining why you chose that particular God is something not everyone can do. And if a person can't explain it, it means they don't truly believe. It's either a habit or blind fanaticism. P.S. Wiz, I apologize if my statements offend you. I'm sorry to lose such a good conversational partner. I offer my official apologies.
