It seems that playing with the Academy and Fortress factions is not very popular (or not played at all). Therefore, dear Academy and Fortress players, what kind of heroes would you like to see for this map?
Also, I'm addressing everyone else. Which hero, in your opinion, is the most suitable, overpowered, or completely useless for a particular faction?

Can anyone complete the new version of the map with the Orcs?
I've updated the starting heroes based on some suggestions and even replaced a few. I reduced the turn time for the brown player. Added artifacts both at the start for the heroes and on the map. Replaced the dwelling of archers. Travel_1.1b2
Damn, it's impossible to play! I've played it 10 times and keep losing (as a veteran).
My advice: if you're not a super player, play the map as Necropolis. In that case, you can quickly build an unbeatable army by converting bonus troops (wolves, ents, etc.) into undead. Accordingly, after dealing with the opponents, you can take your time preparing to complete the main quest:D
Added after 11 hours and 44 minutes Dyrman

I discovered a very amusing hero - a Necromancer Barbarian! I'm trying the new version with him now; it's an interesting dilemma - how to play a Necromancer without dark magic.

Necromancer is a good choice for completing the game, and a Barbarian Necromancer has a special Arantir. With such an attack, the army will be devastating.masgak

Which hero did you play with? It seems like everything is fine with the hero. Now it definitely is. (You can even play as a Warrior ;) )
Reduced the turn time (in terms of duration) for the brown player.
Sorry, but after the quest to defend the city, the brown player started to lag "badly" and in a strange way - the progress bar remains practically (or completely) empty for several minutes, and then the turn is immediately given. By the way, it would have been possible to allow Gotti to at least purchase the ability to summon a boat in the barbarian castle.

It lags strangely... I didn't assign priorities (I didn't change anything from the previous versions)... but maybe it's either jumping around or getting stuck somewhere. Please send the save file. It's strange why I don't encounter this when playing through the map. It even seemed to me that the turn time was reduced by a factor of 4... Here, only a save file can help to figure out why it takes so long. It's possible that the Brown faction doesn't have any heroes yet, which is why the status bar is empty, and it's building a castle, so the turn looks like that, but we'll try to fix the lag. Regarding summoning a boat... we'll see... although he's not a logistics expert... we'll think about it. There's one consideration here. Spells originate from racial abilities, not from the race itself, which is strange, so summoning a ship for an Orc, who doesn't have its own racial ability, will have to be learned not in the Orc Castle. Although, anything is possible...

Save file here: (the size is larger than allowed on this site) The brown faction already has a hero - "elusive" - with his ability to not lag when going ashore... And regarding the possibility of reading a spell in a regular castle - I'll check...

I'm withdrawing the suggestion. Firstly, Gotti can cast spells in any Castle, although he can only use Travel. Secondly, in the Brown Castle, you get everything that a Barbarian can get, including a portal to the city. By the way, it seems to work before level 35... Already in the second version, there's a problem with completing the "Sharpshooter" quest - due to the lack of Elves on the map... Waiting for them to grow is a pain... in the end, I have two options: either ignore all the quests in the corresponding hut, or replay the game from the beginning. Maybe we should add a condition - to eliminate any archers (even if in larger numbers)?
Added after 14 minutes masgak
There's a catastrophic shortage of wood:rolleyes: Added after 3 minutes and the game also crashes when loading, so I have to restart the game and load that save, it happens consistently after 1-2 times.
Well, with wood, as with other resources, everything will be fine when you take the Brown Castle. And for now, there's a stash of wood in the Knight's Castle area :) Regarding the save crashes, I think your computer has too little memory. Mine loads from the game: this map isn't as large as, say, WOE or Reconquista. On the latter, saves larger than 20MB don't load at all

There are several times more of them on the map than the quest requires. The only thing that can happen is that someone else will destroy them first (even the player himself). masgak
There is a catastrophic shortage of trees.
There are plenty of trees in the sea and after going down into the dungeon near the Knight's Castle.

No, I took this quest at the very beginning of the game both times, and I didn't touch a single archer before taking the quest. Okay, the quest isn't critical (anyway, the elves given as a reward can only be converted into ghosts), so I replayed and just didn't take this quest. But Gotti really rocks! Protection against Chaos and the yellow player is defeated automatically!
By the way, Dyrman, I also had problems with this quest: I killed all the archers before getting it, and then I spent a long time looking for untouched ones, barely managing to find enough... Maybe we could make it so they appear immediately after the quest is accepted, using a script? That would solve all the problems.
