Which hero did you play with?
It seems like everything goes well with a hero. Now it definitely will. (you can also play with a Knight)

First, I played with a Sylvan, then I switched to a Necromancer, and that's when things started to go better :D

And the game crashes when loading, so I have to restart the game and load that save, it happens consistently after 1-2 times.
