Yes, this is just incredibly stupid, pandering to noobs who play with archers and simply cling to them, considering them the foundation of their army.
Okay, maybe the catapult will please us with its graphics :).
Graphics are, of course, good, but if playability suffers...
And I see that they like to reduce everything or even remove it altogether. They reduced resources, the number of factions, and removed combat machines; it's even scary to think what will happen next.

It really annoys me when I want to play a normal game online, and then the opponent starts playing...
The problem isn't that the opponent starts playing or something like that; these types of players always end up losing, and they don't have an easy time at the beginning either. Heroes should encourage good gameplay with each new installment, but Black Hole caters to not-so-good players. Playing as Archers is a sign of a low-quality player.
Honestly, I liked all the new features in Heroes 6, and it seemed like they were just anticipating my desires, which is why I forgave them even for the lack of Town Exploration (because I thought it encouraged smarter gameplay and more flexible tactics). But this support for Archers and, as a result, for noobs, just infuriates me, and it's also unrealistic.
In the 6th installment, I like the unit design so far; I hope for the best.

I didn't like that there will be no 3D cities and that they removed the guild of mages. I've already gotten used to the resources; it didn't bother me much, but I'm just wondering how the developers will handle the dwarves. Otherwise, I agree with Black Hole; the game needed changes...

As for the guild, I actually liked the changes, but again, if they want to completely remove randomness, won't the game turn into Diablo 3, where after the tenth battle, you're just acting on autopilot? Because in Heroes 5 (please, no labels; I've played all the games in the series for a long time and consider it the most successful), simple random 0.25 initiative before the start of the battle created wonders, and each neutral encounter felt like a completely new battle, requiring a different tactic. With the initiative scale, the flight of fancy could take you anywhere. The idea that a hero can move at any point during their turn, while everyone else moves in order, as in King's Bounty, looks great, but we shouldn't forget that all the creatures there are diverse mercenaries, and they're random, which constantly encourages new tactics.
the question is, what will the developers do with the dwarves?

I wasn't talking about a few skilled players; I was talking about the widespread trend of less experienced players preferring to play as archers. In Heroes 6, this won't just be discouraged; it will be actively encouraged. Well, let them play however they want.
Won't the game end up like Heroes 3, where after the tenth battle, you're just acting on autopilot?
I don't think it will degrade. After all, a more reputable company is making the game. Heroes 3 is not interesting in this regard, although the undead expansion significantly changed the initiative and made the game much better. I hope Heroes 6 won't be released as a raw and unfinished product.

Graphics, no matter how you look at it, is the most important element of the future game. No one will strain their eyes and hold a basin in front of them just to enjoy magnificent ideas in an eye-hurting, incomprehensible execution.
Archers are a tool that allows you to conserve troops. And the cart is a bonus that significantly enhances many archers (especially dwarven throwers). But in decisive battles, melee units, enhanced by spells, are what matter. Moreover, archers often deal less damage than melee units due to range limitations.
I miss the Elven Archers, the Dwarves, and the Mages... It's a pity that the developers don't want to make all the "old" factions and then add new ones :(. The diversity of factions brings diversity to the gameplay.

It's a shame that the developers don't want to include all the "old" factions and then add new ones :(.
I think it would be better if the remaining factions were added in the expansions, as it would be easier to implement campaigns and balance the gameplay (after all, these races need to be balanced).

How many colors, what resolution, what 3D, how detailed the models are... So, all this is secondary to me. And the design of creatures, locations, and buildings is often more interesting to me than the plot itself.
