Not "something like that," but relatives. This is the very first piece of information about the plot:rolleyes:.
And still, five factions is too few. 8, as they eventually did in "Tribes of the East," is just right :).
And for me, the plot plays an important role. Something like this: 33% - gameplay, 33% - plot, which reveals the gameplay well (i.e., missions where a specific type of unit is used... although this hardly applies to "Heroes" :() , 33% - graphics. High-quality, of course. 1% - something else? P.S.: No need to get angry.
Many fans would say the same if accused of being greedy for castles. Double standards are indeed double.
More likely yes than no, but true fans of the series appreciate the game for its leisurely exploration of the map, battles, and many other things, but not for the number of castles. Greedy fans are greedy, and it's hard to disagree with that.
The story with Conflux is silly, and no one is interested in it.
The Castle is frankly absurd; perhaps only the Dwarf Faction is even more absurd, where you can't go anywhere without seeing a dwarf.

I personally like the idea of tech-gnomes, like in King's Bounty. After all, gnomes shouldn't be able to wield magic, so what else do they have left besides drills? But that's just my opinion.
Well, it's not a bad idea in principle; it might add some variety. Or, even better, combine the Tech Gnomes and these clones.

It's a wonderful faction. The composition is a bit monotonous, but that doesn't make it bad. I really liked the Dwarves' playstyle, visual design, and soundtrack, for example.
Anyway, you only really study the creatures in castles during the first few games; after that, they become like chess pieces, and their appearance plays a secondary role.

I really liked the gameplay style, visual design, and soundtrack for the Dwarves, for example.
I also liked the idea of introducing runes instead of standard magic, and the soundtrack is also good. But the visual design is disappointing: I liked the throwers, the bears (not with muzzles, just brown and white ones), and the Godzillas (not the fire ones), but the rest are frankly bad, IMHO.

There's nothing strange about it. Each duchy is connected to a real European state. Here's a summary:

There once lived a paladin who yearned for immortality in order to serve the empire eternally. One day, he found an oracle (by chance, while hunting demons). The oracle told him about the Soulbrand (a sword belonging to 4 races, mainly dark ones), but warned that those weak in spirit might fall before its power. Without hesitation, the paladin set out to find it, and everyone learned of this. Everyone began to hunt the paladin (including the empire). When he found the sword, a necromancer, who was also searching for the sword, transformed him into a black knight. Then, everyone saw this, and the necromancer, with a single wave of his hand, turned them all to ash. Thirty years later, he served the necromancer (undead reigned supreme, and rebels of many races opposed the undead). During this time, he devised a plan to obtain the Soulbrand, but the necromancer revealed everything. They meet in battle. Naturally, the necromancer won, but the knight did not die; he was severely wounded. The Inferno faction finds the knight and raises him. Thirty years later, he learns all the basics of necromancy and chaos. The necromancer and the knight meet again in battle. Then, the knight finds the Soulbrand, and only by taking it in his hands does he remember all his transgressions, and he tears himself into 10 pieces and destroys the sword. Fifty years later, a barbarian wants to find these pieces. And when he finds them, he creates the perfect weapon. Then, he resorts to chaos magic and hides this sword in hell. TO BE CONTINUED
