Greetings to all Heroes fans, future participants, and supporters of the traditional "Новичок" tournament. As it happens, this year the tournament will start a little over a month later; I hope this won't affect its quality :) Registration is open, welcome

Requirements for participants:
1. Players who, in the opinion of the organizers, have "outgrown" this tournament are not allowed to participate. That is, players who are already strong enough, including some participants from past seasons who showed good results
2. A tournament participant must have at least one game in the season according to HeroesWorld rules (you can play after registering). This is necessary to ensure that you are technically able to play online and have an understanding of World's rules. In certain cases, this criterion may be waived
3. Please note that by registering for the tournament, you must be prepared to play an average of one game per week.
4. Organizers have the right to refuse registration to anyone if they believe there are valid reasons, with an explanation of these reasons.
5. On any day of the last week of registration (December 24-31), you must message me via ICQ/PM regarding your readiness/unreadiness to play. This is to ensure there are no "dead souls" in the tournament

Below will be a lot of official text, which is advisable to read, even though it may seem boring in some places. An unofficial wish of good luck will come a bit later, once we gather :)

1. Organizational issues
The tournament is official and regular.
Tournament organizers, leads, and judges - Kash (ICQ 2628615), RomarioGrom (ICQ 5597165).
The tournament is based on Rules for the organization, conduct, and participation in HOMM3 online tournaments, Rules for online games in Heroes III and the seasonal rating tournament

2. Dates of the tournament - January - April 2011.

3. Game version. The tournament is held on game version SoD 3.2(4.0), by mutual agreement TE 1.03q, TE Lite or WT

4. Awards
Based on the results of the tournament, a medal "Winner of Tournament 'Новичок-2011. Winter'" will be awarded under the winner's avatar

5. Rules. The tournament is conducted according to seasonal rules for template 2SM4d(3). During the tournament, the rules and regulations will NOT change
For other templates, the rules differ slightly; details later

6. Group stage is traditionally played on template 2SM4d(3).
By mutual agreement, a game can be played on any other.
The number of groups and slots per group will be determined after registration closes.
Reports and confirmations are written in this thread; at the end of the group stage, they will be copied by me to the thread "Online game reports and their confirmations. Season 'Winter-2010-11'". That is, you do NOT need to duplicate reports in the season thread
Attention: technical results will be issued for all games not played on time. By default, rounds will NOT be extended

7. Draw and current results will be in the second post.
You play the rounds in any order, depending on how you agree with your group mates. If there is an opportunity and desire - you can even play everything within a week and then wait for the results of others

8. Play-offs
Most likely we will play on several templates (including sm), choosing between them by coin toss, using the Full Double Elimination system
The system is similar to an Olympic one, but the loser is eliminated after two losses. Examples can be seen in the previous two seasons

9. Disputed points, if any arise, please discuss them outside the forum if possible, i.e., first contact the organizer via ICQ.
Disputed situations (rule violations, disconnects, suspicions of unfair play) are handled by the Academy of Combat Arts consisting of:

The same judge's decision is made based on seasonal rules, basic logic, and gaming ethics. In any non-standard situation, the organizer takes responsibility for making a fair decision.
In certain cases, I reserve the right to involve or not involve the AC (HeroesWorld Appeal Commission), as well as competent and authoritative online players. If you are not satisfied with the tournament organizer's decision (or if you do not trust him), you have the right to contact the AC yourself.
To resolve disputed situations, players provide daily saves and ICQ logs.

In their group, everyone plays everyone else, i.e., four games in total.
On average, approximately 1 game per week. Games can be played in any order. Results will be finalized on January 31.
Those who take 1st-2nd place in their groups qualify for the playoffs, plus two more from third place with the best results (in extreme cases, tie-breaker games for qualification may occur). Total of 16 people

The person marked blue in the table makes the first move. The red one chooses the color.
