a bland, unpleasant, gray visual style! and there's no atmosphere at all.
unremarkable, unpleasant, gray graphics! and no atmosphere whatsoever
It seems that with 3D and new technologies, it should be "more beautiful," but that's not the case. Even in the fifth game, the hero portraits are just terrible.
For example, I especially like the fourth and fifth games. I don't like the old universe; I'm sure most people prefer the new one, and an even larger majority simply doesn't care. I think everyone knows Richard Psmith and his attitude towards certain parts of the Heroes series. To each their own.

There's no atmosphere either. Maybe it exists in M&M, but definitely not in HoMM 3. A zoo wanders through the brownish-gray landscapes. Apart from a couple of castles, none of them look cohesive. The units don't look organic – they're some kind of grotesque creatures gathered from all sorts of myths and randomly mixed together. IMHO

Guys, stop arguing because, as Drakkosha says, "Tastes differ..."
Some hideous creatures were gathered from all sorts of myths and randomly mixed together. IMHO.
Why end the discussion? This is a forum, and it's designed for communication. And if we don't finish, what will happen? Will someone do something to us? Will you do something? Or will the moderators delete the topic because it's a discussion?

I'm not going to do anything to you; the argument is clearly about nothing, and it's escalating into something bigger. You'll end up arguing about which game is better, Heroes 3 or Heroes 5. And that's just my personal opinion, so don't attack me for it.

Actually, here's the question:
Has anyone translated the article from PLAY? I personally don't feel like dealing with it.

I'm not going to do anything to you; it's just that the argument is clearly about nothing, and it's escalating into something bigger. You'll still argue about whether Heroes 3 or Heroes 5 is better. And this is my personal opinion, and you shouldn't attack me for it. :smile19:
I've already talked about the graphics. After modern 3D games, it's hard for me to look at two-dimensional characters. I've also talked about the bestiary. But the atmosphere isn't just about that. For example, I was pleased with the short texts you find when you discover a campfire/artifact/some kind of structure.
Regarding the universe, I can't judge. The second Campaign of Heroes 5 drew me in; I really wanted to know who the Messiah was, who Tieru was, so I spent evenings trying to complete the extremely difficult third mission, "Conquest," in version 3.0. After playing through three Campaigns of Heroes 3, I didn't notice any plot; I only learned about it by reading the "Heroes' Corner." I associate this with the lack of cutscenes and main characters, the inability to see the face of the character you're leading to victory. :(
But I absolutely agree that different people have different opinions. And there's no need to vehemently dispute my opinion; I'm tolerant of yours.
