The rating system first appeared on our forum in the winter season of 2007-08. I calculated it using SS-D's formula. The discussion took place in this thread. In early 2009, StickyFingaz proposed a different system for calculating the rating, which many forum members believed more objectively reflected the players' skill level during the season. It was also suggested that the rating should not be reset at the end of the season. rating is certainly a good thing, but it doesn't reflect the real situation.
It depends on what you mean by "real situation." The rating accurately reflects a player's activity and success during the season. To win the season, you need to play a lot and win often. For example, based on the last 5 seasons, winning requires scoring at least 150-180 points, which means having an undefeated streak of at least 15 wins against opponents from the top of the table, i.e., playing and winning 1-2 games per week. Our winners played between 23 and 49 games in a season – consistently 2-4 games per week. Not everyone has that much time for games. There are two ways to win the season: either defeat strong players who are at the top of the table (which requires fewer games), or rely on quantity and play against newcomers (this method is called "padding the rating with noobs" and is not respected among players). The permanent, non-resetting rating has been calculated since then. Naturally, its objectivity is greater for those players who have played more games over these one and a half years. Unfortunately, I don't have statistics on the number of games played. There are also many "inactive accounts."

**The history of the issue on HW in the third game.** Initially, StickyFingaz proposed a new formula, and it was also suggested not to reset the rating every 3 months but to calculate it over a longer period. Under the new system, Sticky himself manually calculated the results for six months, and Vitaly vbn calculated them simultaneously using two formulas during the spring of 2009, taking into account the results from the previous winter in the permanent rating. In the summer of 2009, the new system was adopted by forum vote, and we fully switched to it.
Based on general considerations, Sticky's system provides a more or less objective result over a large time frame and with a large number of games played by each player. Therefore, the idea arose to calculate how many games were included in the permanent rating calculation over the past nine seasons.
There may be some errors because I used the results posted on the forum by Vitaly, and unfortunately, much of that information has been lost because it was placed on another resource. I have corrected some obvious errors in nicknames. There are also players who change their nicknames, as well as clones that appeared in different seasons under different nicknames.
It turned out that the minimum number of games among the players who made it into the top 15 is 32 wins in 32 games for Alex_R - a permanent rating of 1793, 5th place. Based on this, players who have played more than 30 games will be included in the permanent rating table. This will also exclude "ghost accounts" and at least some clones that periodically start a new life with 1500 points.
