How do I do that?

I've never had any problems with Heroes 4 on any computer. Today, I wanted to play, installed everything, but when I launch the game, I encounter problems: 1. It doesn't ask for the installation code, 2. When I launch it, a black screen appears. I read the forum about this problem, but unfortunately, I don't understand computers very well and don't know how to change anything to fix it. Besides, this is the first time I've had this problem, and I don't have any experience solving it. UPD I downloaded the patch from "Booki," the intro with sound started, BUT as soon as I tried to start a scenario, it kicked me back to the desktop. I changed the screen resolution - it doesn't help.

To install the game on a Macintosh, it must be adapted for it. There are now many games adapted for Macs. But regarding Heroes of Might and Magic IV, I'm not sure. In any case, the disc should have a note: "Adapted for Macintosh."

As far as I remember, this screenshot is from the Heroes 4: Equilibrium forum, or whatever the correct spelling is. Besides, there are many different and interesting screenshots there. All of this is the work of the creators of this wonderful mod for Heroes 4. But if you know some tricks of the editor and its, let's say, loopholes, you can teach a hero many spells, for example, how to "enchant" - magic of order, 2nd level - it acts like the mermaid's skill, hypnotizing the enemy for one turn, plus completely ignoring magic resistance. There is also the possibility of teaching a hero spells like various nectars and liquids, for example, "potion of the mage" - for some reason, it belongs to the magic of chaos, 1st circle, "haste" - the effect of the haste potion (plus one attack in melee and ranged combat for three full turns), and so on. The main thing is to find these loopholes.

Question about Heroes 4 - Escalibur (not to be confused with Equilibrius). There are two such maps in Escalibur's scenarios (not campaigns): 1. Battle with Enemies 2. Battle with Enemies Part 2 You can't start the second map until you complete the first. The problem is that after completing the first map, I try to start the second, but it says: "You must complete "History of struggle against enemies part 1" before the heroes are ready for Battle with Enemies Part 2." Help, what should I do in this situation? I wanted to open the scenario editor and change the conditions, but when I opened the editor, I couldn't find how to open the scenario maps – only how to create a new map. I would be grateful for any suggestions, especially if they help. Additional question: I found and opened both maps in the editor. Can you tell me what and where I need to change so that the second map can be started?

in the campaign properties, uncheck the boxes for carrying over between campaigns; you can even just uncheck the second box. However, it's debatable which hero you will play in that case...

Thank you very much for the advice. The map loaded, but without heroes (there were supposed to be two level 20 heroes with artifacts). There are two options left: either these heroes will appear later in the scenario, or I will play with new heroes (I'm glad there's a tavern in the castle). I figured it out. You don't need to touch the checkboxes, but the field specifying which campaign to transfer the heroes from was not filled in. I entered the name of the first map in this field, and everything started working perfectly with my old, leveled-up heroes. Kvant, thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction! :)

Please help!!! I bought Heroes 4: Winds of War, installed it, but it won't launch. It says it can't open the file x2.h4r :smile30:. But here's the catch: I searched the internet and realized that many files in the Data folder have the *.h4r extension, and it turns out that I have all of them, but with the *.pcf extension :eek:. I've already tried changing the extension to the correct one, but it didn't work. I understand that they need to be converted to the *.h4r format, but I don't know how :confused:. Maybe someone can help me? Is there any program that can do this? Or should I just go and hang myself?
