In this thread, I would like to bring a project that emerged after the First off-line tournament up for general discussion.
Here, I will try to explain my vision of the answer to the question "where to spend the money received for tournaments and active participation in forum life" (if such things are introduced, of course ;) )
First, I want to say immediately that I am against the possibility of total use of Special artifacts in tournaments. As an option, separate tournaments could be created (more on this a bit later).

Note: It is proposed to grant Rank for tournaments and for activity on the site. In tournaments, only Rank should be credited for bonus activities (map description, who has more same-type resources, parameters, etc.). For tournament placements, Rank, Rating, and Average Place should be updated.
I propose this last parameter (it can be named somehow) instead of the strange Rank proposed by respected VDV_Forever (as I understand it, for you, the lower it is, the better? But what then about those who do not participate in tournaments? Or someone who participated once and took 30th place has Rank 30, while a long-time Champion who took first place in 40 tournaments is worse???) "Average Place" is calculated as sum of places/number of tournaments. The lower it is, the better.

Where can the money be spent?
1) Lands
On purchasing land on the map of Ashana. I propose dividing the existing map into parts. First, divide it into 6 parts corresponding to the 6 races (leaving empty lands in the east and islands for new races ;) hoping for an Add-on). For each race, create a separate (enlarged) map. These six maps should be divided, I think, into approximately 50 parts (the number is approximate; if you disagree, please state your own and justify it). These will be the lands that can be bought. It is difficult to determine the price for now.

2) Titles
A Title is a characteristic showing merits for long and active participation in forum life and tournaments. A Title can be obtained by having a sufficient Rank. The Rank itself needs to be changed (not as proposed by respected VDV_Forever, see below). A Title gives Respect to the holder + the ability to organize their own tournaments of a certain Level + some bonuses. (Perhaps some other bonuses, but nothing comes to mind yet ;) please suggest your own options). I propose the following Titles:
  1. 1. Peasant (Obtained automatically upon purchasing land; does not grant the right to have 1 city up to level 3)
  2. 2. Landowner (Rank X required, costs Y ashans, grants the right to have 1 city up to level 6)
  3. 3. Baron (Rank 3*X required, costs 2*Y ashans, grants the right to have up to 2 cities up to level 6, the right to hire Troops and Mercenaries)
  4. 4. Knight (Rank 10*X required, costs 5*Y ashans, grants the right to have up to 2 cities up to level 9, the right to hire Troops and Mercenaries, the right to create 1st circle tournaments)
  5. 5. Lord (Rank 30*X required, costs 10*Y ashans, grants the right to have up to 2 cities up to level 12, the right to hire Troops and Mercenaries, the right to create 2nd circle tournaments)
  6. 6. Count (Rank 70*X required, costs 20*Y ashans, grants the right to have up to 3 cities up to level 12, the right to hire Troops and Mercenaries, the right to create 3rd circle tournaments)
  7. 7. Duke (Rank 200*X required, costs 40*Y ashans, grants the right to have up to 3 cities up to level 15, the right to hire Troops and Mercenaries, the right to create 4th circle tournaments)
  8. 8. Emperor (King, Archmage...) (Rank can be obtained via elections for a certain term (see "Elections" for details). Grants the right to create Royal tournaments, ...)
An extraordinary title may also be awarded by respected Admin for outstanding merits to the site. See below for more details on all bonuses.

3) Ranks
I propose introducing a second type in parallel with Titles: rank/profession (can be called something else (specialization...)). It is linked only to Rating and average place.
I propose the following professions (please express your opinion and perhaps suggest your own):
  1. Recruit (Anyone who has participated in at least one tournament)
  2. Warrior (Rating 100 required)
  3. Veteran (Rating 300 required, Average Place no lower than 20th)
  4. Guardsman (Rating 400 required, Average Place no lower than 15th)
  5. Soldier of Fortune (Rating 400 required, Average Place no lower than 10th)
  6. Champion (Included in the site's TOP 10 by rating)
  7. Hero (Has the highest Rating)
Depending on the Rank, the right to participate in special tournaments is granted. Also, the fee for hiring this person increases, + Respect!

4) Tournaments
Those who have a Title no lower than Knight have the right to organize one tournament every six months (perhaps this number should be reduced to 4 months, although I fear there might be too many tournaments).
This, of course, must be coordinated with Admin or someone responsible for this (so that there aren't 10 tournaments at once, followed by silence).
For a successfully completed Tournament, the organizer receives Rank, Rating, and ashans (depending on the level—the more significant the tournament, the more they get); the prize pool of the tournament (in ashans) also depends on the level (perhaps the granted Rank also grows with the level). With such a system, there will be a sufficient number of small tournaments and rarely larger ones. A Royal tournament is organized by each ruler once a year (i.e., 6 tournaments per year).
Also, tournaments should be divided into several types:
  • Classic Off-line (off-line tournament; one save is provided, the participant plays at home and after some time sends back the completed save with all tasks performed).
  • Classic On-line ((unfortunately, I have never participated in an on-line tournament, so it's better if someone more competent speaks up) I see it like this: a series of on-line games in several rounds; in the first round, participants in pairs (perhaps more) play against each other on one map), winners advance to the next round and play on another map, etc.
  • Classic Duel (same as Classic On-line, but in a duel).
  • Special Off-line (same as classic, but using special artifacts)
  • Special On-line (same as classic, but using special artifacts)
  • Special Duel (same as classic, but using special artifacts)
  • Internecine Conflict (A special tournament organized on the map of Ashana between several landowners of one faction by mutual agreement of any 2, 3, or 4 landowners. Tournament type: On-line. Battle of landowners (see below).
  • War (same as internecine conflict, but between different factions, in several rounds. Organized with the consent of rulers and Admin)

Maybe some others? Please suggest your own options.

Battle of Landowners. Participants create a map of their locality (it is not necessary for landowners to be adjacent—these are complicating conditions). They place on it the number of cities of purchased level they possess, and place in them warriors bought with ashans. And they start with their Hero. If playing 1x1, each has the right to hire up to 2 mercenaries. If 1x1x1, 1x1x1x1 or 2x2, each can hire one mercenary. A mercenary starts with one castle (with default buildings) and their own Hero; temporary troops and a temporary city level can be bought for this battle at a quarter of their cost before the game at their discretion and expense. The city level is no more than the minimum of the landowners' maximum city levels.
Troops up to half that amount -"-.
If only one landowner remains, the battle is considered won by them.
After the end of the battle, the permanent (initial ones bought with ashans) troops of the winner do not increase, regardless of how many were obtained on this map.
The loser or losers lose a quarter of their troops. Their city level decreases by a quarter. A quarter of all cash goes to the winner.
If there are two winners, they split the funds in half.
Mercenaries receive half their fee regardless of the outcome and the full fee if their employer wins. Plus, additional rewards for mercenaries may be negotiated separately (% of money received upon victory or an additional + 100 ashans...).
A base fee is established uniformly for all. It depends on the mercenary Hero's Level and their Rank.

5) Elections
I propose that each faction choose its own method of election. I suggest these options (suggest your own if you have any):
  • Popular Vote (All residents of a given faction, not necessarily landowners, vote for several candidates, possibly in two rounds as is done in our country. Candidates can be residents of this faction meeting certain criteria (rating, title, ...) and wishing to be rulers). Faction ruler elections by this method take place every six months.
  • The Best (A person who is the best according to some parameter or set of parameters becomes the ruler. For example, the one with the higher rating or no lower than a count with the highest title and largest amount of ashans....) Any representative of the faction can become the new ruler as soon as they become better than the current one, if they wish.
  • Right of the Strong (Every six months, a tournament is held for the right to be the faction ruler. Any resident meeting certain criteria (rating, rank, anyone who pays x ashans...) and wishing to become ruler can participate. A Classic On-line or Classic Duel type tournament; after a series of rounds, a winner is determined by elimination, who will rule for the next six months).

6) Heroes
Every forum participant has their own Hero. The Hero type corresponds to the faction they have chosen. Any forum member can be hired for War or Internecine Conflict as a mercenary. Also, any landowner starts with their own Hero in these types of tournaments.
Everyone can choose whatever skills they want within their level. The Hero Level always depends only on Rating and does not increase after War/Internecine Conflict. Hero Level depends on rating (since there are no exact figures yet, I will not provide any numbers). Of course, the rating required for a level must grow exponentially.

I really like this idea. I also suggest adding different types of land plots. Marches – borderlands, their owners will be able to participate in the affairs of neighboring factions. Margrave – the owner of a march.

Wait, I'll finish writing now... there's still a lot more...

Guys, I'm all for this idea... and even though I'll probably end up with little or no land (or just small holdings), nevertheless... This is better than special artifacts, it's clearer, and overall, it's a good thing.

Can you conquer lands? Like, you challenge an opponent and fight (in the game, of course). The winner gets the opponent's land. :)

P.S. Maybe I'll get the license soon.

I think this could be implemented in the tournament organization feature. Maybe not the entire opponent's land, but just a very SMALL part... so you don't lose everything at once... as a prize.

I think this could be implemented in organizing tournaments... Maybe not the entire enemy territory, but some TINY part... so you don't lose everything at once... As a prize...

So, I suggest that it should be implemented without a tournament, so that this system applies to ALL forum members.

So, I suggest we skip the tournament and apply this system to ALL forum members.
Well, you know... if 2-3 of the forum's strongest players take turns challenging EVERYONE to a duel, they'll grab all the land... that wouldn't be very fair, would it? ;)
P.S. And by tournaments, I mean the ones described in the first post
creating tournaments for the first round
etc... And the land would be a prize from the LANDOWNER - the ORGANIZER - for winning these tournaments... a small portion of HIS OWN land.

This idea is a big step in the development of our portal, but it's all too complicated. However, if it works out (I won't stand idly by and will help), it will be magnificent!!!

So, you should only be allowed to fight people of the same rank as you: experts with experts, beginners with beginners.

This is certainly... but in general... Imagine one leader (a major landowner) declares war on another... wins... and takes all of their land... and then what? Does the poor second landowner end up back with the landless beginners? Or how? ;)

NOT EVERYTHING, but a piece.

Are you declaring war for a specific territory? But then, what prevents you from winning ALL the territory, piece by piece?;) Gradually... of course, it will take a lot of time, but if you really want to, you can, right?

The poor second landowner joins forces with the rich third landowner, and together they defeat the first, and divide his lands.

The poor 2nd landowner joins forces with the wealthy 3rd landowner, and together they defeat the 1st, dividing his lands:rolleyes:
This is starting to smell like BIG politics! :)
