Here's what I found:

Dear Heroes 1 experts, I'm encountering what seems to be a bug: if a hero with 15 movement points (boosted by a Gargoyle) receives, for example, Orcs, and then I go back into the hero's menu, the movement points become 10. If I don't go into the menu after the transfer, it moves 15 spaces. Has anyone else encountered this? Is this normal? I'm playing on Platinum difficulty, using Vista OS.
If you transfer a slow unit, then when you enter the hero's menu, the speed boost is reset, but!!!
... if you transfer this unit from another hero and make adjustments, etc., in the transfer window between heroes, then the speed boost won't be "reset" - so I strongly advise you to do all operations with unit placement, etc., immediately when transferring the army...
And by the way, if the hero moves a few spaces before transferring the slow unit, the speed boost won't be reset... I can't say exactly how many spaces, but in any case, if he moves the "difference between the units' speeds," everything will be fine...
... for example, the difference between the "speed boost" on a Gargoyle and a Goblin is 3 spaces in a straight line.
This is a well-known bug... by the way, it seems to be not only in Heroes 1...
If you transfer this unit from another hero and then make adjustments, etc., in the transfer window between heroes, the speed difference won't "reset" – so I strongly advise you to do all operations with the formation, etc., immediately when transferring the army...
And by the way, if the hero runs a few squares before transferring the slow unit, the speed boost will be lost... I can't say exactly how many squares, but in any case, if he runs the "difference between the speeds of the units," everything will be fine...
For example, the difference between the "speed boost" on a gargoyle and a goblin is 3 squares in a straight line.

Or at least write a walkthrough, please. Help a newbie.
Hello everyone, I don't know how to win in Heroes 1, it doesn't work. I don't know English, and the game always gives me Barbarians. I don't know what to do(((

The thing is, in Heroes 1, you can't choose a race at the start. But, you can generate it. That is, you load the map you need. You see what race it is, and if you don't like the race, you load the map again. The morphology works 100%!
But, this trick will only work if there are different castles on the map. If the castles are initially the same, then the generation will not work.
As a rule, you can generate more maps to see which race appears.
You can read walkthroughs of campaigns, as well as other maps, in the Hall of Fame topic!
Good luck!

Thank you in advance!
Could you please provide a walkthrough? I'm playing the single-player game, and there's a map at the top of a mountain with a griffin. I keep losing; can you help me win? (I always get the Barbarian faction.)
Thank you in advance!
If you could at least tell me the name of the map, I'd be happy to help.
Sincerely, VDV_forever
Could you please provide a Walkthrough? I was just playing in single-player mode, and there's also a standard map at the top of the mountain with a griffin. I keep losing; help me win! (I always get the Barbarian faction.)
Thank you in advance!
As for the Barbarians appearing, try changing the color (there's a beautiful 4-color stone) when creating a new game... and to reduce the difficulty, in the first game, there's something that isn't in the 2nd, 3rd, and 5th games... you can adjust the strength of each opponent separately... for example, 1 strong and 2 weak... or, to start, turn off 2 out of 3 opponents and play 1v1... then 1v2, and so on... the peak I already described when all three "geniuses" are in an alliance against you with no money and resources...
By the way, it's possible that you have a demo version or a very bad pirated copy, which is why there are no other maps and factions... I've also encountered this on disks released for the American market...
Good luck!:smile13: buy the Platinum edition or download a good version of Heroes 1
I didn't download it from oldgames.ru; I have many other maps there, about 10-20 of them, and also a campaign. I usually play as a mage, but I always lose, and now I can't even get into Heroes anymore. Thank you very much. I always set the difficulty to 10% (i.e., reduce the number of warriors for each race by 2).
The best solution would be to purchase the Bukovskaya version from Platinum.;)
