Good day, dear fans of the third game!
May I also share my perspective on this situation?
1) First of all, I want to thank, and I mean sincerely thank, AlexSpl for initiating an open discussion about the possibility of practically applying this type of morale manipulation!
I know that there are skilled players online who use various tricks, in the form of mini-programs, that more or less affect the Gameplay.
Undoubtedly, by using such programs, they have a clear advantage over other players.
BUT, the trick is that if you skillfully use such a program and don't advertise it anywhere, you can always outmaneuver your opponent by one or even several positions!
This definitely needs to be addressed, and such skilled violators should be identified and permanently banned! The difficulty of this issue lies in the fact that it is practically impossible to identify such a programmer-player who is using a program he wrote for his own benefit, due to a number of objective reasons that are obvious.
But, blaming someone for finding an obvious (possibly) loophole in Heroes 3 is not reasonable, because the program he wrote will provide a basis for reflection for both tournament organizers and the players themselves.
2) If the situation is ultimately resolved decisively and it turns out that morale and luck can indeed be influenced in a player's favor when needed (by the way, I don't rule out the possibility that such a program has been around for a long time!), then we shouldn't give up, but rather think about how to find a way out of this situation.
Indeed, in the third game, morale and luck are determined randomly (this is one of the reasons why I stopped playing it), and this gives players an opportunity to "prove with their fingers" the fairness of the battle to tournament organizers, who most often accept such an explanation. But, let's be honest, no pro would do anything that would cause morale and luck to appear very often in battle, so as not to arouse suspicion from a vigilant organizer, and yet, if the opportunity arises, they may use this trick! How can this be avoided?
a) Play without morale and luck, covering the lower layer with dead earth;
b) Write a patch for Heroes that regulates the values of these parameters for morale and luck, so that they are determined only by certain actions of monsters. As implemented in Heroes 1, for example.
c) Remove all objects on the map that in any way lead to an increase in morale and luck, and also prohibit the construction of castles that also affect morale.
d) Something else.
3) In general, the situation is very serious and requires a very thorough analysis! In any case, it will be interesting to see a fully functioning program. In any case, respect to the author for his unconventional approach to analyzing such a serious issue and bringing this PROBLEM up for discussion.
Here's to no more sadness...
P.S. Moderators, it is necessary to create one topic for discussing this problem, into which all posts regarding this issue should be moved. Thank you.
In the near future, a tournament for Heroes 1 will be opened, focusing on experience gain; I take this opportunity to invite everyone to play Heroes 1! There is no such problem there!:smile03:
