I like all factions except for the Light Elves. Their units are more or less decent, but the skill... plus, heroes only develop other types of magic poorly besides Light magic. In short, often when playing against a human opponent, both the hero and the skill become useless. Of course, absolute luck is a good thing. But overall...

I can't stand elves, both light and dark. Because they are such a mainstream race that Dimabillan cries bitter tears of envy.

They are popular, of course... :) But that's not exactly what I meant. My dislike for elves has deeper roots.

It all started with Tolkien's grandfather. Let me explain why:

1) Elves live the longest (and not just in Tolkien's works). Therefore, they are the smartest, the wisest, and so on.

2) Dwarves forge the best armor. It's their "signature thing." Better than dwarven armor... right, only elven armor. And it's almost weightless - elves are so clever.

3) In the world of Middle-earth, mages are a separate caste/race. They wield devastating and powerful spells. Only "ancient elven magic" is more devastating and powerful.
The best mages are, again, elves.

4) The warriors of Gondor, Rohan, Moria, etc., are all equally valiant. And only elves surpass them all - they are the best riders, archers... They are the most agile and wield the blade better than anyone.

5) Elves are the main speakers at the council of peoples. Everyone listens to them respectfully. Moreover, almost all the most pompous and important speeches are delivered by elves. Pompous speech is generally their main rule. Of course, "The Lord of the Rings" itself is very pompous, but elves are the most pretentious and noble of all (all these speeches about "duty," "honor," "other races cannot understand the exalted elves"...).

6) Elves excel the most in art and crafts. Elven music and poetry are unparalleled. Oh yes, elves look the most stylish (and not just in "The Lord of the Rings," but always and everywhere).

The list could go on...

The point is that elves are a kind of fantasy analogue of Chuck Norris :D. They are the best at everything. That's what irritates me. Liking elves is like rooting for the Brazilian national team at the World Cup :) . It's banal and boring.

Oh... you're just asking for a harsh response... You need to read posts to the end: I already wrote that this is exactly what irritates me. Read "The Witcher" by Andrzej Sapkowski, or "Night Watch" by Sergei Lukyanenko; by the way, in that book, dwarves were the first to invent electricity! And... well, never mind, in many books, elves are portrayed as a morally and genetically aging race that is forced to go somewhere to make room for humans. They should be pitied.

I've read "The Witcher." I somehow overlooked Lukyanenko. And then what? I simply used "The Lord of the Rings" as an example to explain why I don't like the so-called "classic" (or "canonical") elves. Which, in my opinion, the "Heroes" elves are very close to.

My other posts were simply moved to the appropriate topic, and there I, for example, noted that I am more than satisfied with the elves from TES.

All races are good in their own way. I just don't like Inferno because their troops look too "cute"!

A strange dislike, not so much for the Dark Elves, but rather for the Dungeon castles, has been with me since Heroes 3. And no matter what, I see more drawbacks than advantages in the immunity to magic granted by Black Dragons.

I don't like humans....And the racial ability is frankly unappealing (!but undead are a different story))!!!Vampires, Skeletons)) and with "raising the dead," they are virtually impossible to kill.

The Academy has always been and remains a weak faction. What can an Academy mage do against a Barbarian who possesses the Horde's Fury and Chaos Ward? And even a Warlock has no chance if the Barbarian has Chaos Ward! Academy and Dungeon heroes develop defense poorly, while the Barbarian only develops attack!

Guessing which magic to suppress from a mage – you probably won't figure it out, as the range of spells in the guild is vast. And in general... To make a sound and objective assessment of a faction, you need to compare it not only with your favorite faction. Or am I wrong? :confused:
