I watched the movie "The Witcher" on Saturday on TV3.
It's a rare Polish trash movie.
Only the Witcher himself (although his black beard was completely out of place, since he lacks pigment), Eyk from Denesle (he looks like my userbar :D), and perhaps Ciri were portrayed somewhat decently. And Nenneke and Borch as three birds. The rest are complete garbage, especially Lutger - a rather overripe, chubby oaf. The movie itself is awful and heretical. I wonder, if I had watched it first, would I have wanted to read the book? I doubt it. The monsters are like Godzillas from old Japanese movies, i.e., made of papier-mâché. I just <moderator was here> when I saw it. In one scene, they use "computer graphics" - a dragon that, with its drawing and style, resembles the intro of the first Baldur's Gate. All the episodes are twisted, chaotically randomly mixed, and compiled into some heretical, incomprehensible film, so even I had a hard time understanding what was going on. The main villain turned out to be the episodic character Falvik, who burned down the Temple and killed all the priestesses. In general, this is not a movie, but just a mess. I watched it out of academic interest.
P.S. The Nilfgaardian helmets were exactly like Nazi ones, only with a couple of incomprehensible doodads.

Yes, the movie is a bit old and the quality isn't great, but it inspired me! Both for the game and for mapmaking... In general, after watching similar movies (fantasy... sometimes historical) or even cartoons, inspiration and ideas for storylines come, or I just feel like playing an RPG.

It's a decent movie, definitely worth watching. Although I prefer the series version, at least because it explores the plot lines in more detail.
