Posts from Glow particle with many inclusions
It’s complicated; I usually replace effects if I need to change something and there isn't an obvious solution.
For example, what is “Lay on Hands” for me? It’s a flash on the palm, swirling particles, and possibly a general glow before the flash.
You can take the flash from the Thunderstorm spell or try taking the end of a portal into the city – this is a glow ending in a flash.
A vortex of particles is simply a teleport or whirlpool.
Everything can be attached to the elbow and hand bones, and you can create a new effect.
To orient yourself with the axes, take an XYZ axis model and attach it to a bone /topic/15244/.
To rotate an effect, you usually just need to know that a 90-degree rotation is 0.707 along the rotation axis and 0.707 in W. To perform a complex rotation across multiple axes, you will have to "simulate" the rotation in Blender. There, you can select the "Quaternion" rotation mode, and instead of XYZ angles, there will be wxyz values corresponding to the angle from the particle instance.
Could you please tell me how to transfer the x, y, z coordinate values from a particle binary file into Blender? Will I have to manually transfer them back into the binary file later? Or am I overcomplicating things? Thank you for your answers!
Blender is needed to select the parameter in the map editor.
What if it wasn't a dagger but an elven dancer's blade? Where either more glow is required, or their size needs to be increased (but then it looks uneven). Or if the body of the object isn't straight?
I don't go too deep into this. What I can say is that the effect of the dagger is curved; I used it only once – I applied it to a sword, changed the W parameter to deform the effect – to reduce the distance between particles, but this is all done randomly. Based on my experience, I roughly understand what to enter and how everything will turn out in the end, but nevertheless, I usually avoid glowing blades. As far as I remember, I was the first to create a glowing sword for the Dark Cultist with the armor-piercing ability; there, the blade simply does not react to light.
The swords turned out great!
