Even though Titans have a Chaos Amulet, they don't really counter Chaos Dragons that well. The paradox is that Chaos Dragons can be built faster than Titans, thanks to the Thieves. Thunderbirds are the best unit in my opinion. Good stats, strength, and lightning strike – what more could you need? The only downside is the low HP.

I really like the magic dragons because of their powerful Chaos spells (a druid summons them, and the player has 2 schools of magic at their disposal). I also like manticores, black dragons, titans, sorceresses, and gargantuans – in short, dragons, archers, and mages, because no matter how strong hydras and hippos are, they're already being harassed by the time they crawl over, and black dragons are just very beautiful and quite strong. Dragon lords are also handsome (only without wings :( ), but they're not that easy to find, and other creatures aren't inferior to them, IMHO.
If we exclude absolute superiority (black dragon, dragon lord) and neutral creatures, I like the Devil. It has 50% immunity to life drain and deals 50% more life drain damage. Its speed is incredibly high – it can move in one turn and reach the walls of a besieged city. It deals decent damage and also summons ice demons, which is very useful. Among neutral creatures, I would choose the Champion of the Dark – a very formidable warrior.

Titans are the only ranged attackers in the city. Black Dragons have complete immunity to magic. Many might say that Champions have low damage, but the speed buff increases it by 2-3 times.
