New here? I'm Roha — want a quick tour?
A very cool campaign!
The only thing is, the first mission is very difficult because there's not really anywhere to get troops from.
And the battle with Kha-Beleth is the same.
This is a magnificent campaign; I enjoyed playing it. Huge respect to the author. I used to love playing Heroes, and I replayed it many times. Only recently did I discover custom campaigns and scenarios. Thank you for your hard work!
hello, how do I install the Grey Alliance?
I completed this campaign on Hero difficulty. I enjoyed it very much, and it evoked many positive emotions. I'll start with a brief description of the walkthrough, mission by mission:
Mission 1. I didn't attack some of the units at the beginning, but I returned to them later, after I had gathered all the reinforcements.
Mission 2. The start is very slow, but after developing to Ents, the game progressed faster. I cleared out the neutrals with archers and Ents, using light magic. I took the trophies so that I had enough resources for both cities. Later, I received Darkness from the mentor and bought a tome in the shop. I quickly created a barrage of Berserkers with a Mastercraft Amulet.
Mission 3. At the beginning of the mission, the Orc helped a lot; after that, Cyrus handled things on his own. Both Cyrus and Alex used light and darkness magic. Alex won the battle against Saahir with Sandro's Cloak and a full set of Gnomes, defeating them with one unit of Titans without any losses.
Mission 4. No one had a full set of Dragon artifacts at the start, but it could be assembled immediately by combining the artifacts of Alaron and Cyrus. Therefore, the main strategic task was to arrange their meeting. I gave the set to Alaron, and after that, he won all the battles against the heroes, with the help of dragons and vampirism. In the shop on Cyrus's territory, I bought Sandro's Cloak and solved an interesting logistical problem: how to quickly transfer it to Alaron, who was at the other end of the map at that moment. I didn't bother looking for the Tear. I defeated Lorchith without losses with one unit of dragons.
Mission 5. I played fairly and didn't equip the full Dragon set. I won without problems for Alex and Alaron. In the battle for Cyrus, two units of Demonesses appeared immediately, and I was afraid that they would shoot down my entire army. I considered the options, like in a chess puzzle, and managed to play in such a way that they didn't even fire once (I didn't want to waste a turn on distraction). As a result, Cyrus had the fewest losses.
I rate the campaign positively. All the maps are detailed, the plot is excellently revealed in the cutscenes, and the characters are vividly portrayed: Alex with his lofty ideals, Alaron, who constantly lacks determination, and Cyrus, who only thinks about personal safety and gain. Of course, it is important to separate the plot from the gameplay: in my playthrough, the alliance turned out to be gray in the sense that the heroes are formally on the light side, but they use dark magic more than demons and Necromancers combined. If we talk about balance: there were comments from other players about the low activity of the enemies and the overall difficulty of the campaign... but personally, I think that everything is fine. Yes, the enemies don't attack on their own, and there is no risk of losing, but it is still interesting to play, there are many battles against strong neutrals, and you get pleasure from exploring the map and gradually strengthening the heroes. I also remember the combat scripts in the fifth mission; I didn't check if the summoned units are fixed, that is, whether Cyrus always gets Demonesses or if it varies.
I took the pictures from the fifth mission; the heroes are shown on the day of the final battles.
Thank you very much for the excellent campaign!
Thank you for the walkthrough. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Yes, the gameplay is a bit boring in places, but I just can't find the time to fix it, and there's a crazy amount of assembled artwork (having two sets of gnome units, or even just a few, is a bit overpowered, even considering the stats of the final boss). Also, in the 5th mission, each of the three heroes has their own combat script, and the only randomness is in the number of creatures in the squad; the units themselves are always the same.
I have been planning this for a long time and have finally decided that this Campaign (as well as New Order in the somewhat distant future) will receive a major update. It will affect:
1) Gameplay, especially AI behavior, as in some missions it is a rather sad sight. The number of composite artifacts will also be adjusted to avoid their overabundance, etc.
2) The visual aspect of some maps will also be revised; they will look more diverse and picturesque.
3) Dialogues; now it will be possible to play with or without voice acting. An English version of the Campaign will also be available.
4) Various fixes for minor bugs, texts, and other minor things that have already been found or will be found in the future.
Important: the plot will not be rewritten; what is written with a pen cannot be cut with an axe. The main goal is to refresh the gameplay and diversify the Walkthrough.
The current versions before the update will also remain available so that they can be compared with the new ones.
Work on current projects will continue at the same pace. These updates will be done in parallel with them, so it is difficult to talk about specific deadlines for now.

Good evening! I've encountered a very frustrating problem... I reached mission 4, and after leveling up, I was just looting the island (by the way, I don't have any complaints about its size; it's basically a dungeon crawler, but since my Mage was leveled up with a focus on central spells, I went and started defeating everyone with him right away through the underground, purely using magic :D). Then, at one point, the game crashed, and now, when I launch any saves from this campaign, the game just crashes immediately.
I'm very happy with the storyline; it's a shame that there's no voice acting, even basic, homemade voice acting would be fine, but that's a minor issue.
P.S. I had another mod installed before this, so I uninstalled it just in case, but it didn't help. I went looking in the comments to see if anyone else had encountered this, but unfortunately, no luck :(

I'm very happy with the storyline; it's a pity that there's no voice acting, even a simple, amateur one would have been good, but that's a minor issue).
